  1. Hmm who's trying to buy success now - lol
  2. Lol try explaining that to the 'Sturridge' haters
  3. @Mods Is there any chance the 'warning points' system could be reviewed? I got mine in a flame war around 18 months (I think) ago - but they seem to be indefinite - could we have a rolling system - whereby in 12 months you tot them up and then they are reset? Or maybe to coincide with the start of seasons e.g. Come the first game of new season, it's all reset... I think people do genuinely learn from mistakes... I know I have... Just a thought... (Realise its a bit of extra work)
  4. I like the idea - it just wouldn't happen sadly Don't worry about being flamed - some people can't think outside the box I guess if you follow MLB you see these types of deal being done - just hasn't caught on in Football yet
  5. That will only happen, if as others have said - he sorts his attitude problem out. Yes a striker should have an ego, but he should also know when to use it... He's done himself NO favours this World Cup... Other players coming in seem to integrate better - he needs to step up now and lose the ego or a while, do something good and then filter back in the ego... Jesus if you went by what he said to the papers, the golden boot was going to him... Golden donkey is the only thing heading his way...
  6. You would anything for a few more fights Nah only joking - I'm with you - Cavanni seems a bit timid... Now Suarez he's the real deal unfortunately
  7. LMAO @Henrique - he's got you there Booooooooom!
  8. David Beckham got much more stick than Pepe when he got sent off against Argentina... Jose is entitled to his opinion (an opinion I share) Much like Song getting sent off last night - and I agree with Gordon Strachan, players like that are selfish, they don't care about the team, or their fans - as they would not have done it otherwise... So they need to man-up, lose the Ego and play for the team... This is where Beckham gets massive credit - he understood that, worked harder than I have ever seen to make amends and delivered MOTM performances time after time, culminating in his free kick against Greece... So if global brand Beckham can do it, no excuse for other players... So sure, Jose's words look harsh - but isn't that a sign of the times, where everybody is always offended? I like his honesty...
  9. Me too Mata should have played Bye bye Spain - at least Azpi will get a rest
  10. Spot-on... There's going to be plenty of games (West Ham being two) next season where our opponents will make Algeria look like an all out attacking team The ability to receive the ball with back towards goal, control, lay off and run on should never be underestimated - and for me that's where he has a huge hole in his game... Can that be improved? - Yes... Will it take time? Yes... So saying he is ready is whats killing him, on the one hand it's nice to see confidence, on the other it's borderline delusional... I hope for the whole team, they have a better game next time round... Maybe the pressure got to them... This is where 'mental strength' can never be underestimated as an attribute. The German team seem to have this in abundance - which always makes them dangerous...
  11. Pepe - representing his nation at a tournament and contrives to help them lose by being an idiot... Mourinho - preventing hunger in impoverished countries Both are Portuguese - Mourinho is fair with his comments, Pepe let his whole country down by being a dick!
  12. I hope you re-read this, this morning and feel suitably ashamed. Admittedly, it was probably a poor taste joke, referencing Herr Goebbels. However, there was no need to respond I the way you did. As an English person who has worked and lived in Bavaria - I am happy to admit there are many things the German nation do well: - Autobahn - investment in small business - taxes - beer - education I found the majority of German people to be polite, well educated, decent people - so I would never 'tar' everybody with the same brush. In fact, if you look around Europe - Germany/Austria and Britain are 'people's' that probably most resemble each other. Sure the UK has suffered a down-turn lately, lack of investment into Engineering (where we once ruled the world) - but we are still a tolerant, multi-cultural country. Hope you see sense and apologise - and everybody chills out a bit... We can't change the past, but we can ALL influence the future...
  13. About time - much needed match day revenue
  14. I think the whole team was poor - very poor! Lukaku didn't do the basics well enough though - didnt work the channels, first touch was poor etc. that's why he was subbed. I know it's poor to critiscise one player, so I'm not. The whole team stank and I wanted Algeria to at least get a draw. I think this weight of expectation is fucking with them, more than it did with England... If this is Lukaku letting his footballing doing the talking, then he best get ringing journos again (JOKE!!!!)
  15. Oops wrong thread Thought Eden did ok in a poor poor team Not their night
  16. Heh - it's just general deflection Don't be too hard on those guys. Having worked in the UAE - the media is very controlled and they believe they can still control the populace via TV - hence the restrictions and filtering of Internet. Any country that does not allow 'unblocked' Internet access - has something to hide and seeks to control its citizens... The UK is included in this with its ban on torrent sites (not as far up the scale, but a worrying trend)... Even Stevie Wonder can see the corruption here - it's not going away
  17. Correction: The HAND of God has spoken
  18. It's almost like another Didier
  19. Oh - I thought there was a rule that once you had played for a national team - your choice was made? Is that not true?
  20. The first paragraph is just a regurgitation of media hype... Barcelona do not play to his strengths and are a frustrating team generally. Fabregas has good stats, work rate can be improved along with fitness - no concerns there for me... As for him giving the ball away - are you familiar with Ramires? Or Lampard last season? Or Mikel who only passes sideways or backwards - inviting more pressure on the defence, resulting in yet another long, hopeless ball forward? This guy is in the perfect frame of mind to answer doubters and after a taste of medals at Barca, will be ready for more - which is why he joined Chelsea... I know people are concerned, but in order to accumulate, you must speculate - and at that price, this was a good bit of business
  21. Yeah strange that it kinda summed up our last season Statue up front - to be fair to the statue it did have 3 distinct poses: 1) Nowhere near the ball or goal 2) enjoying total relaxation on the floor 3) grumbling to the Ref that it wanted to spend more time in position 2
  22. Strange - do we need another winger with Hazard, Shirley and Salad?
  23. It depends on where the copyright is registered Even defending a civil case costs money > £300 - this is exactly the reason they are doing it. Welcome to 'legalised' extortion...
  24. Nope - all you can do is what I have suggested, amend the Terms of Use - so the onus of responsibility is placed on the end-user and not the site. It's the fucked up situation of technology and lifestyle moving quicker than legislation. Law is honour bound to previous precedents and has been running for centuries, so reforms are a nightmare, as a reclassification of the law can potentially lead to retrospective claims from people found guilty in the past - not to mention the millions of trials still in 'Appeal' So whilst this happens - immoral and unscrupulous people make money, by picking easy targets... Edit: I also suggested Charity - but that's an administration nightmare now in UK/Europe - due to previous abuses of this registered, low tax holding.
