They are second choice, we never change keeper except for injury and suspension.. I would rather have a quality really young keeper as our number 2. Yes he is not the finished article, but we are not asking him to play 15 games a season... And if something did happen to cech, then he could step up. We would still have our 3rd choice keeper if things don't go well. Turnbull is 27 and isn't very good... Our best number 2 in recent times was cudicini...

Yeah i know where he plays... I am saying i would rather have a proper RW who is hulk, who can also play ST, than an ST who can on occassion play on the right. IMO we only need another striker if we loan out any Lukaku, and i would rather we have Hulk than Cavani. Torres started getting better and better towards the end of the season... Wan't overly impressive in the Euro's yet still won the golden boot, and atm he is our number one striker and he knows that... That should give him extra confidence. Also whats to say buying Cavani will automatically result in massive success. Torres was at times considered the greatest striker in the world at Scouserland... I would rather us fill a position we have greater need for atm than get someone who will probably be better a bit better than someone we already have and mean we completely ruin torres for putting him on the bench.
-
In fact i would rather have Blackman as our second choice keeper... I don't have faith in ross turnbull, and whilst hilario has always been good to us i would much rather see Blackman just given as shot as Cechs understudy...
-
Yes they are on paper better strikers, but neither of them will want to play RW, whereas Hulk does play there and can be a backup to torres, making him imo the better option than cavani or falaco. Also, If we get Cavani then, either him or torres will have to be on the bench and we still have a bit of a problem on he right hand side. Wheras Hulk fills the position and solves the striker shortage problem.

It won't stop his development, but if it comes to us needing an extra spot is a very viable option...
-
He should go when he realises he won't be anywhere near as high up in the pecking order as he was last year. Malouda has always given his best for us, and i would hope the club and him can leave on good terms. I think it is a bit unfair the vast critisicism he recieves, especially after being a fairly big part of chelsea especially a couple of years ago...
-
I think so... We rarely ever use our 3rd choice keeper, and i would highly doubt we would need to use him this season, also it would free up a spot in the 25...
-
he is a 6 ft 3 big powerful lad, he has plenty of time to improve a lot, so he definately is a target man... His heading may not be amazing, but it can improve, and as others have said, he has great hold up play.
-
Well in that case he can stay and be lucky to sit on the bench or he will have to go. I rate Kakuta and is a star for the future, but with all the new midfielders we have he won't get the chance to start unless we play our 2nd/3rd team in some other cup games...
-
I wouldn't loan Lukaku, as he now has a great chance to get some game time, its a completely different situation to many of our young midfielders as many such as Josh Mc have at least 5 people ahaead of him in the pecking order, where as lukaku only has 1, or 2, dependant, and if sturridge ever plays some at RW, Lukaku would definately be second choice. Also to add i still want Hulk, as he plays in a position we need greatly and can be a backup striker, filling 2 roles. All signing Cavani would do, is mean we have torres sitting on the bench and still a RW problem.
-
Tbh Benayoun should definately go as he will be about 7th choice midfielder, and Hazard and Mata will be playing in pretty much every important game, so malouda could also go to make room, and i would send Kakuta on loan.
-
TBH it doesn't matter who will play out of Oscar and Raul, as lampard will play ahead of Raul, so basically it is either Lampard or Oscar, as we are not gonna pay 25 mil for a midfielder to be 4th in line, assuming unless Mikel occupys one of the two holding midfield spots. And for me Lampard deserves to start more than anyone, and has always been quality. Between Lampard and Raul Merelies its not even close and we don't know how good Oscar is yet, but i am excited to find out. I know lampard wont play loads of games etc..... But with all the new signings and expected 4-2-3-1, lots of players have been pushed down the pecking order, one of which is raul merieles.
-
Oh i see. Because they have extra time off because they were in the final of euro 2012.
-
I don't understand...?
-
I think its the 25 mil pricetag and the fact he has recently started for brazil... I would start of with him coming off the bench and see how he does then go from there.. If he does well then he can start and if not he can get more exoerience of the bench... But i wouldn't be surprised if we did actually start him.
-
Kakuta won't get a look in this season... We have a stacked midfield which we are adding to. He is very promising though as is the way, we don't need him right now and i would rather him get experience and start to make a name for himself rather than just sit in the stadium watching the bench which is watching the game...
-
great news...
-
I think he has to be loaaned out. Doubt he will get a look in this season, since we have a stacked midfield. No point letting him sit on the bench all season IMO.
-
They were talking about Cavani, but obviously they got some differing news, so they changed it to a probable target than the biggest deal being close to signed... It couldn't be about oscar.
-
IMO this is a great buy... Proven in the premier league, big target man, always deserved the chance at the top...
-
If we actually bid 25 mil for walcott i would want everyone medically tested.
-
They were talking about a 35 mil deal for cavani as far as im aware.
-
I think most people agree that he was one of our best players, its just if we play our new 4-2-3-1 system, then the position he would play (CAM) is taken by Mata or Hazard, and he isn't ideal at RW, and isn't really a defensive midfielder. If it looked like we were gonna play 4-3-3 then i am pretty sure he would be in 90 per cent of our predicted line ups.
-
People are saying who our number 2 penalty taker should be with Drogba not here and Lampard not going to always be on the pitch. I am pretty sure, or would hope that no one thinks Lampard shouldn't be our number one penalty taker.
