Again i believe the tactic we're playing this season is the right one for the players and goals we have. It's the three i named that don't fit and need to be replaced. You can't blame Mourinho for choosing a tactic that benefits the majority of our players. I'm not saying we should get rid of them but they shouldn't be starting for us.( well atleast Ivanovic and Cahill shouldn't. Like i said in my other post Terry still offers certain qualities that aren't easy to replace.
-
So we should keep playing them then, even though they don't fit the system, because they tried their best ?
-
Tactic isn't wrong. We're playing the tactic that gets the best out of most of our players problem is those three are dragging us down as they don't fit the system. We already have Azpi who can replace Ivanovic and Zouma could replace Cahill. That just leaves us with 1, Terry. He's not so much a problem as he offers other qualities that we need that aren't so easily replaced. Without buying we could already replace 2 out of the three "weak links" and we'd only have to cover for 1 player instead of three.
-
Bullied ? Rightfully criticized you mean. Last season we played a deep (defensive) line, this season we're playing a high line and trying to press. To be blunt neither Cahill, Ivanovic or Terry are cut out to play a high line. Cahill is incapable of defending forward(proactive). The only thing he does is back off and try and block the shot. Ivanovic struggles when he's up against quick skillfull players which is why he doesn't like closing down players instead he'll just stand off them and allow them all the time in the world to cross the ball in. Terry simply doesn't have the pace or agility required to play a high line. Azpi and Luis are cut out to play the high line and should both be starting. Zouma should also get his shot to see if he's capable.

Seriously...stfu. You're emberassing yourself. Hazard has arguably been our best player in the big games.( City, Arsenal, United, Southampton, Tottenham, Liverpool) Any big game we've played this season he's been one of the best if not the best performer and coming up with an important goal or assist.
-
Your right that as a defender, when faced with a player running towards you at pace with the ball, you have to back off so the player doesn't easily get past you BUT only to a certain extent. You can't keep backing off. Eventually you have to step up and make the challenge (especially when you're in your own penalty box) and that's something that Cahill never does. He keeps backing off until the player takes his shot and by then it's too late.
-
@Didierforever Probably a typo.
-
@Kezza It's not because of Cahill. It's because of Azpi. Matic and Cahill help out too but mostly Azpi. I believe that's the reason why Azpi starts on the left back. He protects Terry from getting run at. Azpi rarely ever gets burned however against Newcastle he was on a couple of occasions leaving Terry isolated in a 1 on 1 situation with a skillfull and quick winger. To be blunt neither Cahill nor Terry are suited to play center back in a team that plays a high press (high line), possession based tactic.(fullbacks high up the pitch to provide width) Terry is too slow and Cahill simply doesn't know how to defend proactively.
-
Sick and tired of him. He just keeps switching off. Luis and Azpi on FB positions please.
-
Simply not good enough. Needs to be replaced but by who ? World class CD's are a rare breed to find these days. Zouma is a good prospect but i think he still has plenty to learn before we make him a starter.
-
@Jason Actually Niclas is kinda right. Lampard's goal vs us gave City a point while taking 2 off of us. Lampard's goal cost us 3 points gap wise with City. So without Lampard's goals there would have been a 7 point gap now between us and City.

Think you people have been watching too much porn...

Red card for me. He's pulling Remy back. Hands not supposed to be around his chest.
-
How would you manage the current situation?
Belgiannutt replied to stroey's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No reason to panic but i'd like to see us rotate the squad a bit more. -
Drogba/Remy Schurrle Fabregas Salah Matic Ramires Luis Cahill/Terry Zouma Azpi Cech Matic didn't play vs Newcastle so he's well rested. Fabregas is suspended vs Hull so he'll be able to rest after this game. Courtois, Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Ivanovic, one of Cahill or Terry and Costa get a rest.
-
I think it had to do with Drogba coming on. We started hitting long balls into the box rather then play it around and look for an opening. Fatigue probably had something to with it aswell.
-
Please, Jose would mindfuck you before you got within a 100 yards of her.

Three Chelsea fans got the chance to play FIFA 15 with/against Hazard at Stamford Bridge. https://vine.co/v/OJhzrZ2lJng https://vine.co/v/OJh7g5UBZPm https://vine.co/v/OJhK3D26P5b

I feel DeBruyne should be playing on the 8 next to Witsel. We're lacking someone from deep that can orchestrate our play. We're playing way to slow and i think that's why a lot of our attacking players move into central areas and move towards the ball. Witsel, Fellaini just aren't good enough on the ball to find players in tight spaces. They constantly play easy lateral balls but rarely play forward. I think one of our Belgian reporters said that of the 54 passes Witsel gave only 4 actually were forward passes. I mean that's just pathetic. DeBruyne on the 8 would also help the problem of Hazard and DeBruyne getting in eachothers way. DeBruyne would still be a lot on the ball while Hazard could come inside from his left wing and drift between the lines.
-
Oh knock that shit off. He didn't do or say anything wrong. He complimented Cech and stated the obvious. Cech is likely going to leave and no worldclass goalkeeper would accept being second choice.
-
Wasn't Azpi playing right wing in that game and Willian playing on the 10 ?
-
Don't forget about : This a match compilation against Croatia. He had a good game and gave a number of great passes. If you're interested in passes you should check it out. I don't think you're really going to find a video compiling all of his passes. They're usually just mixed in with videos focusing on his dribbling and goals/assists. This video below focuses on his passing the first 3 minutes or so.

Saw this link that was posted in WAGNH. It's an article where Rene Meulensteen talks about what kind of training he made C Ronaldo do to improve his finishing. Thought it was very interesting given the discussion people have been having about Eden's finishing. Hope Mourinho's doing something similar with Hazard. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/real-madrid/10272433/The-secrets-behind-the-development-of-Real-Madrids-Cristiano-Ronaldo-revealed-by-Rene-Meulensteen.html

There was an Interview with Musonda. I'm only gonna translate the most interesting points. -Does Mourinho talk to you ? Mourinho talks or calls me every 3 days. I also train with the first team 3 days a week since mid last season. It's unbelievable training with so many players of international class. -What's your favorite position ? On the 10 as an attacking midfielder. -How is John Terry with the youth players ? Fantastic, he's a true captain. I think he has the phonenumber of every youth player and we can come to him with anything. It's unreal. When i saw him on television i never expected him to be like this but in real life he's a really friendly guy. -In what way did you improve at Chelsea ? I'm more mature about how i play now, I also play more physical. Now i play with more efficiency. My dribbles have to have a purpose. -On instagram we see you a lot with Eden Hazard. Is he a rolemodel ? Ofcourse, but he's also a good friend. We talk a lot with eachother and hang out a lot together. He really is a great guy. He's also my rolemodel. We also have somewhat of a similar style. Hopefully i'll soon be on the pitch alongside him. -Last season there where rumors that you'd be loaned out to a Belgian team but you immediately denied it on twitter ? Yeah that's not happening. I don't wanna miss my chance at Chelsea. Being loaned out to another English team ? It's a possibility but noone has ever said anything to me about that. Link to the original interview for the people that can read dutch. http://www.voetbalkrant.com/nl/nieuws/lees/2014-11-12/charly-musonda-jr-ambitieus-in-2016-bij-de-rode-duivels-op-ek
