  1. The worry with Pulisic was always about injuries during the game, not during the bloody warm up. Wow. Concerning. Especially as Lamps has managed his workload recently.
  2. I know Spurs had luck in their favour with United going down to 10 men but even before Martial was sent off, Spurs were 2-1 up and were quite dominant. They controlled the midfield and was able to deal with United physically also. Tottenham are also a team in transition but the mindset was clear and they knew United were there for taking also.
  3. A lot of our best football last season was when we had Kovacic and Jorginho in the double pivot. I would like to see this more starting from this game hopefully. Burnley, I defo want to see that midfield. We were 4-0 against them last season and I remember Jorginho and Kovacic controlled that game.
  4. The lack of physicality in midfield concerns me. There is no real dominating presence which Rice or to a lesser extent even Barkley offers. Although the defenders played well, in actual open play United scuffed a lot of clear cut chances and their finishing in final third was poor. Like I said before the game, having both Giroud and Tammy on bench was a waste of a sub as it was like 99% likely one of them would not come on. United were controlling possession and I think having someone like CHO to come of the bench would have been useful. Got some games coming up now where I hope we see the dominant team display we showed against Palace and hopefully get Kai back in his natural no.10 position and I guess we can really analyse how much progress we are making.
  5. Defence was very good, but annoyed with the lack of ideas in attack. We have so much attacking disposal and we paid way too much respect to United. James gets better and better every game. Top defensive and offensive performance from him.
  6. When I see Pulisic on the TV with his back to the screen, he looks so much like Hazard with the no.10 and the shape. Memories eh
  7. Having both Giroud and Abraham on bench is a waste of sub for me. If CHO is fit then that rings alarm bells.
  8. I am not surprised he is already proving people wrong. I have always been vocal that he is going to be a huge upgrade and the criticism he was getting was way OTT. Like I said last season, he for majority of the season was good. Leicester then got injuries and also their form dropped off but he was singled out, however I think people are forgetting that he is only 23 and in the whole aspect of things, he still is improving which is even better for us. Like I pointed out before the matches he played for England he has been very good. I watched him a lot at Leicester last season and I love the way, similar to Robertson that he bombards down the left flank. We have missed that for years. Also he made a few defensive errors for Leicester but people made it out as if he was on Bosingwa's level of defending which was never the case. We have arguable got England's future two FB in our team for the next decade.
  9. I think he is a good squad player for a team like us. Like I say, I think he showed enough last season when others were injured, that he is a good option to have. And while he does not score loads of goals from distance or at all, he has proven at Everton and us with goals against Liverpool, Norwich and today for instance that he is capable of providing a threat from distance.
  10. We wouldn't but would Lamps use him this season? I am sure he would have He rejected CHO move because he counts on him. Barkley may have pushed for it but considering we did not buy any other CM, I think we should have kept him.
  11. Come up with a last minute winner. Top goal. What a loan he is going to be for Villa. That ability to drive and shoot is something that could have been really useful for us... oh well.
  12. Yep but Lamps should have said I will rely on you throughout the season. Kante is likely to get his injuries this season. Gilmour is currently injured and still a rookie. Then you can never rule out the players being ruled out with covid also. There is so many games to play. Really baffled and we could of done with him and he proved last season he is a useful asset. I am sure last season there was a point where Kovacic, Jorginho and Kovacic were all out. Barkley luckily came in and did well. This season we don't have that option, or till January at least anyway...
  13. Crazy decision to let him go out on loan, considering Lamps was not able to get Rice. He is the only player we have who plays CM and adds a bit of muscle. The CM options are way too lightweight.
  14. Lampard's man management skills were poor second half. Havertz should have come off, not Werner. Abraham should not have came on. We needed Werner for the counter attack. Havertz scored and had decent spells but ran out of gas and the last 2 subs imo should have been James and CHO. Werner should have stayed on. Kovacic would have been useful in this game too just to calm things down and keep hold of the ball. But wasnt there and if Lamps left him our, utterly poor decision. No need for Abraham and both Giroud when it was obvious both would not come on. You can see why Lamps wanted Rice. No natural DM in the team and we just look way too open. Disappointing now as that shadows a brilliant game for Werner. Worried about how open we are though and just imagine when we play better teams.
  15. It most likely is that both Abraham and Giroud will not come on unless we are losing like we saw against WBA, so really and truly if Kovacic is fit I find it odd that he has been left out.
  16. He was very good tonight on his full England debut. Glad Gary Neville picked that up as well at the end. Stood out at 11 vs 11 and even with England a man down, he played really well. Put in some excellent crosses tonight.
  17. Ziyech and Werner should be up there. Ziyech, is going under the radar but he is going to have people wowing ove rhis quality. Werner will hit off soon too I am sure. The deals we got them for were brilliant piece of business.
  18. Rejected a last minute loan move to West Ham. Think it would have been a good move for him. I wonder why. I thought it would have been a good move for him. We have so many CB on board now.
  19. Wow, Bayern look desperate right now. Going after CHO, to getting Chupo-Moting and now getting Costa back on loan, after selling him to Juve around 2 years ago, LOL...
  20. Yep. I mean their squad looks so thin right now. They currently are playing Hertha Berlin. Rookie called Chris Richards playing at RB. Davies having to play at LW, although that was his initial position, it is clear they want players to make up the squad depth. Even having to resort to brining on Musiala, who looks a talent but ideally, Bayern would never be turning to a 17 year old to win them the games. They know what they are doing.
  21. Yep, but I think he has shown enough in his time here that he is a really valuable squad player. We don't have anyone like him who can dictate the game the way he does so comfortably. For instance last season when we were 1-0 down to Arsenal last season and we couldn't get control of the game as we had no one who was assured in possession. Lamps brought Jorginho on during the first half and as soon as he came on, he changed that game. We controlled it. Would be ludicrous to let him go.
  22. Loads of teams will. Because too many teams will be focused on containing our attacking force so they won't want to press and leave gaps, so generally Jorginho will dominate most games he plays, especially at home.
