  1. Will be playing tonight for the U21s against Norwich. Should be interesting to watch considering that a lot of the players in this match were the ones who playing in the entertaining youth cup tie last season. Live coverage from 7PM.
  2. But he got a draw as well but I think it is quite obvious the award will go to Rodgers.
  3. Lambert is not nominated as people have said and yeah I know Villa beat Arsenal but they lost their next 2 games, even though it was against big teams (one of them being us) you can't really nominate him for winning 1 game
  4. The boy is 20 years old for crying out loud! Lewandowski is more than likely to go Bayern and Rooney is no certainty either way. I am sure Mourinho sees Lukaku as a big player for us in the future. He feels he is doing what is best for him. Sell Lukaku for £15-20m? Please be serious, that should never even be on the agenda. Too much potential to get rid off. Would be a ludicrous thing to do considering what his future value will bring and hopefully the goals he gets with us.
  5. Think we are going to have to wait a bit longer for that. Most likely be this kit:
  6. He was playing though so you would not expect him to kick the ball in the back of his own net
  7. Who really cares? I don't see what the problem is. Everton have him on loan for the season and that is who he will be striving hard to get results with. Is he going to play any part for us this season? No. So although it could of been said differently, does it matter. He is an Everton player this season. No means a disgrace. Taken way out of context and your reaction is a disgrace tbh.
  8. That list is not full/correct. Boga, Kiwomya, Brown will all feature as well.
  9. It will be like 3 weeks on Saturday since we last played PL football. The crave can't wait for much longer
  10. I hope not but if Cech continues to be the no.1 it might be a possibility as in Cech we still have a keeper if no.1 can continue in that position for the near decade and gaining that money for a keeper who has never played for the club might be a possibility, but I would hate to see it.
  11. I would not mind no.2 if Courtois was at the level of Schwarzer or so but the fact that I know he is practically on par with Cech, I would not understand having him on the bench and I don't think it would make Courtois happy at all. It is excellent knowing we have 2 of the best keepers in the Premiership but eventually one of them will have to be sold. If we sell Courtois for around £25-30m it is good business but I do not want that happening but it is realistic if Valdes leaves as he stated for next summer.
  12. I doubt he will but knowing Mourinho, he is is not afraid to make bold decisions. However your point about Courtois, I agree but for me the best resolution then is to go out on loan rather than stay on the bench. It may be a continuous cycle but he is getting game time and a keeper in the caliber of Courtois deserves to be starting regularly.
  13. I have always praised Cech for what he done in the UCL winning season but Courtois has done the same thing. When they won the Copa del Ray he was simply fantastic and was the reason they won the trophy. Courtois is an excellent keeper and it is really hard to say if he would of done this and that because he has already done his share to guide Atletico to trophies. Also if Courtois went Barca he would no doubt be the undisputed no.1. Especially with the amount I hear they are prepared to spend on him however I see your angle but if they buy Courtois as a replacement for Valdes they are sorted.
  14. Well Asenjo is a good keeper but Courtois always had that no.1 shirt from the moment he arrived. Asenjo was good but the fact that they agreed to loan him from us and we refused to send him back on loan the Belgium league, realistically he was always going to be no.1 there.
  15. Been solid in like every single game he has played so far this season and he does not get the full credit he deserves but one mistake and he will get so much criticism
  16. I know Mourinho done the same with Cudicini in having him on the bench most of the season but with Courtois it is a different factor. He already has won many trophies, playing for arguably the best team in La Liga besides Real and Barca and commands the Belgium no.1 position and that is no easy thing when you have the likes of Migonlet who is among the best keepers in the Premiership fighting for his position. If Courtois finds himself being rotated or not the primary no.1 keeper, he might lose his place in an instance like that. I know Courtois made noises about challenging Cech for the no.1 position but let's face it if he cannot dislodge Cech, he will know it is for the best to go out on,loan again. Far too special of a talent to be rotated while he could be playing for almost any elite team in the world. I know he has many years ahead of him and people will feel having a season possibly being roated will be fine for him but not when we can either have him as no.1 or if not just simply loan him out again because he is far too good for being rotated. We need a fixed no.1 keeper IMO and if he will not be I know Courtois may want the no.1 shirt here but it would be best to continue playing regular football. Here you have a young 21 year old keeper who is already one of the best keepers around IMO.
  17. I agree with the price for Matic being ludicrous but he is a key player for them and that is understandable. I think he has improved by miles since joining Benfica. Obviously a different league from the PL but viewings from him, I think he would do well. I also disagree with his performance against Chelsea. I thought he was very good. Dominated the ball, rarely gave it away and thought he done an excellent job. Over the 90 mins he was excellent IMHO. I do not know if you were referring to the UCL games but in the EL final he certainly had most of the ball more than any other player and I thought to myself what an improved player we let go.
  18. Been linked with Forest on loan. Think this would be the best move tbh. Wigan have tons of midfielders and I am not sure if he is a guaranteed starter, same with QPR and Watford who he done well with last season have already strengthened in that department where as Forest lost their main CDM to Palace so he probably will fill in the void if he joins.
  19. Well I disagree. Even with Bale at Real I still think Ronaldo is the main man. Bale said this himself. Bale will score goals but I am unsure if he will get up to 20-25 but gradually I think he will as seasons go on. More importantly Ronaldo has not committed his long term future to the club and if he goes Bale will probably step up more. I think most people acknowledge Bale is not on Ronaldo's level yet so if Ronaldo outshines him there is no harm in that.
  20. From what I have read, Chalobah and McEachran are earning more than Lewandowski and probably most of the entire Dortmund team was earning last season. Totally crazy if you ask me.
  21. Yes, unsure why he mentioned Chalobah. He never has actually played an official game for us bar friendlies and is only 18 and doing well.
  22. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12016/8913231/ray-wilkins-hits-out-at-attitude-of-young-players Thought Wilkins was bang on with this. Think this will provide an interesting topic discussion. Interesting that he mentioned the likes of Chalobah and McEachran. I think it is a bit harsh on Nat because he keeps on progressing. Was almost part of a promotion winning team last season and produced moments of quality but giving him around £30k per week while not even playing a professional game for us is a sign to a player that they have already made it. I am not saying Chalobah will turn out like this but this is what the message sends out by giving him such a big contract. I do think Wilkins is right about Josh though. He has not really pushed on. I remember when he was excellent in the youth team and broke through to the first team quite quickly around the age of 17 he was then. He was regarded as an exceptional talent then and even at the age of 17 made premiership cameos against the likes of Man City and Aston Villa and even played a full CL game against Marseille IIRC. 3 years on and he has not pushed on at all. At the time of around 17/18 years old he was on just over £2k a week from what I have read but after being rewarded with a big contract around £35k a week, just seems to have got to him a little. When he was 17/18 you saw a kid who was showing that he can make the cut here and many people around the club were excited at the talent we had but now his future is in limbo. Had a loan last season where for most of it he was a regular, was playing well at first but then gradually his performances started to stall from what I have heard and was even pushed out of his natural position sometimes to then being relegated to the bench. I just feel that if we did like Wilkins recommended other clubs do by rewarding players with contracts that reflected performance related contracts instead of high wages to make sure the player stays, maybe players like Josh would of pushed on a bit more. He also has proof to back it up. As he mentioned with the Ferguson point. He has a much tougher stance on his younger players. He has brought many players through and this is done through dedication. I give Cleverley as an example. A good player now and regular in the United team. When he was around 17/18 he was not given the sort of hype that Josh was but hard work has got him where he is and now he has made his position in the team firm, he is rewarded with a deserving contract which I think is the way to follow and there are several other players he has developed who have gone on to represent England. I read the stories of RLC and what he will be earning a year despite not even playing a game for us and I think it is crazy. He does look like a real gem but I hope this contract he has been offered does not get to him because it happens far too often but I think it is crazy if he is getting the reported wages he will be on then a few years down the line he might not of even developed as much as we thought he would of. Similar with Sterling but maybe a bit harsh as I guess you can blame it on fatigue but lasts season when he broke through he ripped the PL by storm and was on around £2500 a week and after his performances he was awarded with a lucrative £30k per week contract and some Liverpool fans believe this has caused him to become far too big-headed and think it was a link with his dip in form. Just look at the players who Germany, Spain and Holland develop. There is a link. The young players have a much bigger drive and are not offered all the lucrative wages compared with the English players. I will give another example. Ravel Morrison of West Ham and formerly of United. He has improved now from what I have heard however when he was at United, was regarded as someone who would go on to replace Scholes. I remember watching him for United in the youth cup and thought he was exceptional and United wanted to reward him with a contract. But what was his main agenda I guess, money? Probably. Anyone with even better ability than him in Germany or Spain would have accepted his wages and kicked on. Just look at Ronaldo. Is naturally gifted but did not rest on his laurels and pushed for more and since then has added much more goals and is arguably the best player in the world now. Would like people to give their opinions on this but I think Wilkins was bang on.
  23. The 'like' idea is fine for me. Yes most forums do not have it but it appreciates ones comments and I like that rather than write posts but you are unsure if anyone notices it. The feature is good, that does not need removing.
