That does´nt matter given their record to spend money at will. If Zidane stays at their manager, they could attract Eden and buy a new team around him and Ronaldo. Conte should have rested him against Qarabag, because Cesc had to start against Liverpool last night. With him we would have controlled the midfield like against United. With Baka and Kante in front of the defence there is enough room for Fabregas to support Hazard and Morata. His job is to link our midfield and attack and we missed this big time yesterday. Hazard and Morata were on their own countless times, because our midfielders and WBs were too defensive most of the time.

That's a fair assessment. Morata should be more lethal especially in 1 vs 1 situations. Sometimes he unnecessarily complicates his chance to score a goal, because he wants to skin the defender a second time, which gives the defender time to recover. On the other hand Lukaku is quite wasteful as well, so neither of them belong in the top tier when it comes to finishing. 1000

Mertens would have been a fantastic stop-gap signing. He is a great winger and scores many goals, something we lacked at the RW position for years. But it seems like we are going to play 3-5-2 for the rest of the season, so this would is wishful thinking.

Hazard and Morata have to exploit their weak defensive line. Alonso has to cope with the pace of Salah, I hope he will be up for it tomorrow, personally I would have rested him against Qarabag, but that doesn´t matter now. Normally our midfield should overcome theirs.

But in comparison to Bakayoko Cahill and Oscar have been at the club for years, not for some months. Both of them got enough time to prove themselves. Bakayoko started the season injured, had no pre-season and actually had some good cameos/performances against Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester. Then his form dipped after the Atletico game, but even Azpilicueta made some mistakes and playing next to Fabregas isn´t an easy task for any defensive midfielder. Against United he played really well, Matic couldnt cope with him and Baka should have scored two goals if his finishing wouldn´t have let him down. Not to mention that he just turned 23 in August, so there is naturally room for improvement.

He was even better in the top game against United though.

Got his act together in the last two games. I loved how he finally used his strength in duels yesterday. Baka has to kick on from yesterday, he could be a very important player in the future.

I agree with @kellzfresh. I would add the fact that our three best players have been injured at some point this season so far. We couldn´t cope with Hazards injury and lacked a lot of attcking quality in the first few games without him. I bet we wouldn´t have lost to Burnley with him on the field. Also, its laughable that the media slated Conte and Chelsea for having a nightmare of a season so far, but ignoring the fact that we are only one point shy of their beloved darlings.
