Luis, Godin, Lucas, Griezmann, Rodri, Juanfran, Partey at the very least all want to leave. Maybe its down to Simeone tactics. You can give all to the style he plays for 2, 3 years but then you want a change. I dont want another Conte/Mourinho and then go back to square 1, changing half the team, style etc. Simeone would be good short term solution with his organisation and passion, but soon it would back fire. We need a manager that will support attacking football and grow young players. Sarri did ok, albeit nowhere near perfectly. But he made RLC and Odoi first 11 players which is enough for now. We suck right now and will probably for another year, but then we might actualy have strong young team with players that give a shit for the next 5, 10 years. The club priority should be to continue attacking, pressing football and give youth a serious chance because we actualy have a couple outstanding kids like Odoi, RLC, Mount, Reece, even Tomori, Zouma, Abraham. If it wasnt for the injuries, Id celebrate this season like we won a title because after 15+ years we finaly got two youth products being good enough to play in first 11 that could stick here for long time.

Simeone might do well for a season or two here aka Conte, but then the problems would reappear and we are back to square one except like always with even lower standards. He is defensive oriented manager. All 8 teams in european semis have played attacking football which is the absolute way to go. Simeone did decent, but his style is a thing of the past as is tiki taka. Its time for attacking, pressing and direct football. I loved Chelsea park the bus era, but IMO that would never work as good today as it did back then. We need to go with modern time and stick with attacking football. Be it under Sarri or someone else.

They probably didn't want the drama tbh. They made smart choice. Jovic is allround, modern striker with massive potential. Icardi is flat track bully. Fantastic finisher, but does fuck all in buildup and his wife issues...just not worth it. I know we cant do shit in competition with Real to sign Jovic, but we need to get a goddamn top striker. Cavani, Icardi,...Chelsea would love to sign them but either will flop, you just know it. If we cant get top striker like Jovic, then we need a promising one like Lautaro, Richarlison etc.

Lets sign a coach that was a sacked because he failed to achieve the goal. Id much rather stick with Sarri or get a promising manager from Ajax, Pochettino,... Also big no on Simeone. They guy is past time, as is Mourinho.

Europa League Final 2019 - Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal
BlueLyon replied to Jase's topic in Champions Archive
With RLC out I wont be surprised if we rush Kante back and he injures himself again. -
Yeah but often giving faith into these under development players pays big time. Kovacic was way more established player than RLC at start of season but thankfuly RLC got the chances. If we bought quality CM or winger, he might be better right now, but if CHO and RLC get play time and develop as expected, they will be quality for the next 5-10 years. And they are youth products, they often show more passion for the club, especialy nowdays. Mahrez at City is nice example. He is a good player, but if Pep gave that playtime to Sancho, he would likely get top player for the next 10 years. But more than anything, I dont trust the club can bring and attract actual quality players. I rather keep faith in Odoi and RLC than bring some expensive inconsistent players like Willian or Kovacic.

Just a while ago I was thinking at least Chelsea never had any serious injury problems like Arse or Bayern have. We always had very healthy fit team and big luck with injuries / the lack of them. Then spring 2019 happend.
-
I just hope he comes back without any permament issues. Same with Odoi. What concerns me more than the length of their recovery is Chelsea reaction. For all we know those two wont get a chance or will get two or three games to show their worth and then we ditch them if they dont perform. This season, they established themselves perfectly because other players were out of form. If Pulisic, Kovacic,...+ whoever we buy get their ground running, no manager will bench them for Odoi or RLC which would be a real shame. If we buy lets say Ndombele this summer, RLC can pack his bags and leave the club unless he wants to be sub forever. These injuries came at the most terrible time. Hopefuly board reacts smart and keeps both in the long term picture and by this I mean give them serious trust and game time once they return.

Sky reporting Real got Jovic for 60m euros, same we paid for Pulisic. We are fucking joke, the whole board.

Chelsea banned for TWO transfer windows
BlueLyon replied to xPetrCechx's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Even if we are negotating already, the club has zero proof that we will get ban postponed. So its all on good word. And Im sure many good players will opt out for reliable option rather than agreeing with us hoping we get ban postponed or their chance for transfer to top club falls in the water. All the promising players are coveted by best clubs in the world and they will go there because they know the transfer will be completed. That said, Im pretty sure we are not even in the first stages of targeting players. The board is incompetent, they will start with their work in those last 10 days. This is another disaster for us realy. -
Or Atletico as Griezmann replacement. Funny how Griezmann, Dybala and Coutinho are all "available" this summer; 3 players that anyone would kill to have a season or two ago, but nowdays they are nowhere near as good as Hazard and their pricetag makes fans happy to avoid them alltogether.
-
This is depressing on so many levels
-
Zaha is good, but its like buying bmw when you just sold ferrari if he is going to be Hazard replacement.
-
Nope, Im actualy leaning for him to stay another season despite he didnt convince me at all. I guess I have some faith he could do better in second season. And its about time to give a manager some patience. However, you always protect your players. RLC has been injured quite alot (his back indeed) and you dont want to risk another potential injury against New England Revolution in Boston on absolutely shite pitch. There have been many cases where players trained normaly, but didnt play the match because managers wanted to protect them. Players train every day, its understandable. Going to play in some pointless match in USA is not. So no, training is nowhere near the same as actual match. Cobham has perfect training pitch, while this one in Boston was terrible. And its well known the quality of the pitch is always big reason when it comes to injuries, especialy like that one that happend to RLC tonight.
-
Indeed. Its completely stupid to agree for such game at this time. Sarri could make different subs though. Start with strong 11 if that was agreement and then bring kids in second half, not entire first team. With pitch in that condition, any manager would rest RLC who can pick injury anytime; except Sarri.
-
Just another in many incompetent things our club has done. Playing 4 days after PL ended, with full strength team, on absolute shite pitch. Entire forum knew shit like this will happen. But not Sarri and the board.

Where are the freakin youngsters. We want Reece.

I remember that as it was yesterday. 7 years man. I was on this forum for just few months and we we had thread for him because Chelsea was interested. I heard about him before, because I followed ligue 1 quite a lot and Lille was the best team then. I rarely watched ligue 1 games though, but I started after seeing couple of his highlights. He stood out and instantly became my favourite non Chelsea player. I saw plenty games in his final two seasons at lille. In all honesty, besides Chelsea, as a kid, I only watched Real games when Zidane was still there (I was also big France NT fan because of him and hence why I followed ligue 1 too) and then Eden in Lille. If he never came here, Id still watch him play elsewhere definately. He was pure joy to watch. Incredibly talented footballer. On TC, there were daily discussions, everyone wanted to see him join Chelsea, but it was difficult because we didnt have that pulling power anymore. He was already a superstar by then and it was obvious he will make instant impact anywhere he goes. There was one funny part too, he pulled that mohawk haircut near the end of the season and the entire TC was like ; hopefuly he will have normal haircut if he joins here. Then by the end of season he appeared in lille stadium with his kid dressed in light blue, everyone thought he will join city. It was dissapointing to realise he wont play for my favourite club. Sometime later, we won CL, he said he is joining champions and as they say, the rest is history.

We used to be better though. Even in harsh times, we always strolled past Arsenal or Spuds, now they are genuinely on same level if not better. Spuds never had high expectations compared to Chelsea, its nowhere near same situation. We never shat pants playing against Arse, but upcoming finale is serious concern that most would prefer to avoid any humiliation, a very possible scenario. And this aint some paranoid knee jerk reaction, but the state of our team sadly. Most of all, the results are not even the worst part. What is dissapointing is that we used to have top character, something every Chelsea fan was proud of, regardless of the results. Current lot lacks everything and its hard to be optimistic about it. Hell its hard to be proud and respect big parts of the club, from board to players right now. Only few deserve respect realy. The forum is just a reflection of helpless fans who watch this team fade on so many levels. I agree though, in general TC was great place once, but its understandable it has changed. It doesnt help either that many great posters left about same time when our club went to shit. Some probably had other reasons, but certainly not all.
