Stats dont tell the story IMO. Iniesta is still the best midfielder there is, always top in big games, always at his best and brilliant technique. Xavi got old and lost pace and isnt as good he was in the past and I dont see why didnt Barca play Thiago (last year) and Cesc more. I think they expected too much from Cesc, that he will somehow be better than Xavi in prime or Messi. Similar to our (too big) expectations about strikers every time. Barca tiki taka is over. They have Neymar, Sanchez, Rafinha, Deulofeu, Rakitic...who arent born to play such football, but faster attacking one. And no one will succeed if Barca keeps playing tiki taka. Thing is Iniesta and Xavi were super good and fans wont be happy with next midifelders until they become at least as good as Xavi or Iniesta. Kind of like Drogba and other strikers here... I think Cesc (if he has the drive and clear motivated mind), he will be good here and Barca will regret that a bit. I still dont get how would Rakitic improve their midifield anyway. If they want someone who could turn better than Cesc, they should target Koke, Kroos,...not Rakitic. He is good and had fantastic season but we are talking about Sevilla here. Put Fabregas in sevilla and he would be their best player by far. All in all, barca ever since the golden generation couldnt replace players, they bought Ibra, neymar, cesc, alexis, song,...and no one realy fits their philosophy. Its normal when fantastic generation needs to be replaced, you will not find such players in next 10 years at least. And barca should move on from tiki taka. I dont like about Cesc that he has very little impact on game, he cant realy lead the team, but then again he played for spain and barca with plenty class midfielders, and older generation have privileges.

Looks realy realy realy terrible decision he choose spain instead brazil when WC is in brazil. He will get booed all the time and will probably nervous rest of the tournament...but people say he is mentaly indestructible and this booes shouldnt hurt him...while he was clearly upset by them, his touch was realy poor.

How come that he isnt starting ahead of Hulk? He has incredible work rate and better link with Oscar, he can play left right or center and he has decent finish, not the best but Hulk wasnt anything special either. I didnt watch Brazil too much recently in friendlies, but was Willian that bad or sth? How come Bernard is better than Willian (at least Scolari favours him more)? I understand Big Phil wants players he trust, but Hulk realy didnt do anything vs Croatia and recent games.

Hazard is quite similar to Neymar in position and when taking on opponents, why isnt he exchanging positions with Oscar more? Oscar and Neymar exchange positions brilliantly for Brazil, its time for Hazard and Oscar to do the same. There were few times last season (and season before) when those two switched and it looked good. I think Mou needs to give Oscar some more freedom to go on wings/centre when he feels so. im sure that would wind up defenders a bit with their marking.

Our striker needed much more support from fullbacks and creative midfielder. No point saying Torres would score more, because he misses open nets, but strikers in general werent given enough balls IMO. Luis and Cesc will be brought exactly because of that. If everything links well, we will have great counter attacks.

Well there is one thing, him being slow is bit of mith. He isnt exactly fast, but barca style of play makes him look much slower. Same happened with Bayern, last season their players looked like fastest team in world, this year, they looked slower because their change into tiki taka. I actualy like him as he is bit cocky. Several best strikers are from Rvp, Drogba, Etoo, Ibra,...and that means only that Lukaku has ambitions. Just imagine we sell Lukaku to some PL team and he continues banging goals while our Costa flops. That would be one big fuck up. I am certain Lukaku will be star and if we sell him, I will be even more certain. We will regret that. And even if he has bad WC, he shouldnt be judged by that.

If he has cracker on world cup, I would consider it, but seriously after one game? I remember gebre selassie (czech lb) had great wc or euros few years ago and then turned shit at new club. Blind was impressive though but with team of 5 defenders where everyone helped defend, he wasnt exposed and spain had no wingers...His crosses were amazing, but doing it in Chelsea is different thing

He would cost like 25m and I doubt all our AMs would be happy with spit playing time, but if thats the case I would rather go after Sanchez, Draxler or someone who has more experience and isnt such risk like this guy who I doubt realy has the quality to be better than Oscar, willian or Schurrle.

Guys stop with the kneejerk reactions...Costa had poor game, made great runs, but poor touch. However it was one game and this spanish style doesnt realy suit him at all. As anyone I would prefer someone like Cavani, Rvp or Suarez, but such players arent available unfortunely. Botom line he is one big cunt though and I blame him bit for not picking Brasil (he has milions of angry brailians on neck now). And I generaly dont like players who turn against their own teams (like Torres or Cesc) because there is so much hate towards them and that affects whole team. Anyway if he can score goals and dont get red card every game, I would gladly take him. Jose could make some stupid moves this summer like selling Lukaku, selling Oscar and keeping Ramires in starting 11, buying Cesc who wont suit Jose style...or those moves could turn into brilliant ones. Time will tell.

If he has great Wc and still gets sold, I will be pissed. All these years of terrible strikers (bar drogba) and now we could have one realy good for next 10 years but if we wont give him the proper chance it would be realy idiotic.
