I don't think any of those players on your list were 26 years of age (apart from Cahill) when they were signed by their respective clubs. Morrison just isn't good enough to play for Chelsea FC. Yes, he has talent, he has ability...but he also has limited potential. If he really was that great, then how come none of the top clubs want him? He's an average player, nothing more.
-
Good examples..but none of them apply to Morrison. He's a good player for a lower-level club like Charlie Adam was for Blackpool or Downing was for Middlesbrough.
-
James Morrison is decent quality but he'll be nothing more than a bit-part player at a top 4 club.
-
We should of kept Cudicini. He was the perfect backup for Chelsea. McGregor is good but I don't think he'll leave Rangers to play as a backup goalie.
-
How many solid right-wingers can also play as a striker and actually seem interested in a move to Chelsea, apart from Hulk. Schurrle doesn't look ready for the step-up...Jovetic is still learning...Moses is a work in progress..

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9358388/Chelsea-winger-Florent-Malouda-to-leave-Stamford-Bridge-with-Brazil-his-likely-destination.html Vasco and Fluminese want him in Brazil. At least we'll see some fresh faces on the bench this season.
-
Don't understand either of your lineups. Looks confusing with so many options. No offence. Well, if we play 4-2-3-1...Sturridge will most likely be on the bench as our backup CF...don't really see him being used as RW (once we buy a natural RW). If we play with 2 strikers, then Sturridge should definitely be starting.

Cavani seems committed to Napoli....http://www.espnstar.com/football/serie-a/news/detail/item820092/Edinson-Cavani-commited-to-Napoli/ And I thought C.Ronaldo wanted a new challenge, he liked the idea of playing for Real Madrid.... thats why he started moaning at Man United..and Fergie let him go.
-
I don't think Napoli want to sell Cavani. Apparently his asking price is around 35 million...and so far only Juventus have shown interest with a bid of 20 million.
-
Good point. Hopefully RDM can help a few more of our youngsters make the transition from reserve team to first team football over the next couple of seasons.
-
Yeh, when your an average player, people tend to forget about you.
-
Why bother making assumptions in the first place. Anyway, back on topic. Hope Malouda leaves.
-
Exactly. If Malouda is willing to leave, then De Bruyne should definitely stay as a backup CAM, LW.
-
Why does Barca want Drogba anyway...they have more than enough forwards..what they need is a CB.
-
City can have him for 15+ million. No need for CB's at the moment. We need to get a RW, RB and maybe a new CM.
-
Well...unless England find a consistent younger LB ready to take over from Cole in 2014...he might be on the plane to Brazil!
-
Hazard was on every top club's wishlist...and wasn't Mikel supposed to sign for Manchester United before he ended up joining Chelsea...hence why we had to pay £12 million to United and £4 million to Lyn Oslo.
-
He should be given more chances in the double pivot role once we buy a new RW.
-
I probably am Hulk's biggest criticizer on the talk-chelsea forums but I have to say that Hulk is the best RW available in the market this season. He might not be world-class but it seems as though he would add a different dimension to our attack. Apologises to all TC forum users for my pathetic posts/responses as to why we shouldn't be buying Hulk.

Yeh, I'd prefer Chelsea to sign 1 world-class attacker as-well. But Hulk isn't world-class. If Hulk was world-class..there would be a number of top european clubs battling for his signature...but as it stands, only Chelsea want him. Unless Hulk forces through a move, Porto are under no pressure to sell him.
-
That sounds......like something a world-class player would say.
-
Pros: -Powerful winger -Might be decent backup for ST. Cons: -Porto want 38 million -Pretty average in terms of ability -Already 25, won't really improve much. -Looks great against in an inferior league..half the LB's in that league are like Bosingwa.
-
38 million for a decent winger is just too much. Hulk isn't world-class or anywhere near world-class in terms of ability. He only looks good because the standard of the Portuguese league isn't that great. We should save this 38 million....and spend it on a RB (Cesar Azpi 12-15 million) and a CM (Cabaye, Moutinho).
