The Hulk deal does affect our interest in Jovetic. If we buy Hulk, what's the point of spending 25 million on Jovetic?

Hulk is the better player for the RW position....but overall, Jovetic has more talent at his disposal.

Hulk isn't too old...but paying anything more than 30 million for a 26 year old who isn't really THAT great..isn't the smartest thing to do. 26 isn't too old..but when your asked to pay 38 million for a 26 year old with no EPL/top-level experience...his age will play a part in any possible transfer.

Josh is the man..for the future. I don't think we'll see the true quality of Josh for another 3-4 seasons. If Modric is signed, he should have an immediate impact in our midfield which is exactly what we need.

If Porto don't want to sell for a reasonable fee (30 million), let's look for alternatives.

Jovetic is gonna be a great player in the future...but he won't solve our RW problem. I honestly reckon Sturridge could do a pretty good job in a SS role..if we decide to use 2 strikers at the same time. Dzagoev would be an alternative option..or at a long-shot, someone like Eljero Elia/Sessegnon would be good, value for money options for the RW role.

United sold Ronaldo, Barca sold Eto'o, Milan sold Káká, Sheva, Arsenal sold Fabregas..Real Madrid sold Makelele... Big clubs do sell key players for the right price.

Bale just looks good at Spurs because the rest of the squad (except Modric, Walker) is average at best.

Don't want Canales..he's talented but seems injury prone.

Levy is still the Spurs chairman. Modric has a contract until 2016. He's not coming to Chelsea...Levy would probably prefer to sell Modric to United.

We should be patient with our club's youth development. I think loaning our youngsters to more appropriate clubs would be the first step in the right direction. We've seen youngsters like Dávila, Delac, Lalkovic, Van Aanholt, McEachran..etc...all go on pointless loan spells which has done nothing but stall their development.

Then how can you say that Mikel is not looking reliable enough (referring to your first post on this topic)? He played his role in the midfield without too much fuss under Di Matteo...and he's the best DM we have at the moment..considering Romeu is fairly young/still learning & Essien is past it.

I reckon Lukaku will be loaned out next season, regardless of whether we buy Hulk or some other good RW player. You're right though, he showed some improvement in the last few games of the season.

Great news for Di Matteo and Chelsea. The guy deserves this chance. Hopefully he can bring some stability to the club.

Santon can play RB & LB...but i'm expecting Newcastle to sign either Debuchy or Vurnon Anita (can play DM & LB) from Ajax.

Joe Cole was a fool to join Liverpool. As for Kalou, wouldn't be surprised if he joins Liverpool..they need a winger/backup striker...but I honestly hope he joins Schalke.

Have always liked Dzagoev. Would be great if we signed him. He'd probably be available for around 10 million which is fairly cheap for a young, class midfielder.

Mikel is a big risk. The likes of Romeu, McEachran, Meireles should be good enough as rotation players. I still think Tiote would be a solid addition to our midfield...because we don't have a class DM at the moment. Cabaye & Martinez would be awesome...not too sure about Granero..he's not consistent enough. As for Sahin, there were rumours that AC Milan are trying to sign him on-loan..
