They were promoted in 2005 and they never pushed towards top half of the table inspite of 7 seasons in the Premier League. Martinez came in 09, that's 4 years now and he's finished 16th 16th 15th and will finish 14th or lower this season. His league record is pretty ordinary for large parts of the season
-
That is a very biased point of view, City were in good form heading into the FA Cup final. Wigan played a very good game. You have to credit Martinez for that. But I get your point. Martinez is hyped up even though his work at Wigan is strictly ordinary. You could say keeping them 17th every year should count as an acievement but why does everyone focus on 'late-season form' and ignore the first 2/3rds of the season?

Choulo is a bit like that. When everyone's finding faults with Benitez, he's looking for positives. When everyone and their milkman thinks that Mourinho is coming to Chelsea, he is thinking Man City

You have me convinced and you haven't even touched upon the London is greater than Manchester debate

you can't really say can you? Some volatile people may commit suicide without much hint of depression. For eg, there is a place near my hometown called 'Suicide Point' and as you might have guessed, it is a cliff which got it's name due to ugly incidents over the years. there have been lots of cases where people have committed suicide simply because opportunity has presented itself and I say that because the victim's family/friends had no idea about any depression in many of the cases. Ofcourse the families maybe lying or completely clueless but I knew a person in University who committed suicide there for no reason. He was fine having no depression problems on the surface. Probably some kind of problem like money or love may have instigated it but who can really say what one thinks before committing suicide? Sometimes there may be no reason to it and the victim just wants to get it over with on a whim?

Stingray Skipper Rmpr Spike lol can't choose.

Criticism of Pellegrini is that he hasn't won trophies in Europe but his work at Villarreal and Malaga must be noted. He is a good 'coach' as in he's a good tactician etc but I am not sure of his managerial ability i.e handling City squad, media, probably mind games with Moyes or Mourinho
-
I remember your prediction that Man City would go on to rule England in the next few years. You would have been proved right had it not been for Mancini screwing up in the Transfer Window.

@CHOULO19, spot on I think I was misunderstood by some ppl here. I did not think of the gender while posting that. I was thinking of something Manpe posted somewhere about your kindness and empathy to total strangers on the internet @DDA, Read the above

This all shows how it has no intention to be factually right! And that puts me off really. There were some really intense moments - Shoshanna meeting Waltz after years and the bar incident etc, but it was overshadowed by the parody it was. Maybe you can look past the unrealism and enjoy the film, I just cant!
-
Tbf, the opening scene with Waltz was riveting. He was bossing it throughout and there are some very good 'intense' moments in the film but I was disappointed in the lack of seriousness in the film which took the sting out of the intense moments. That argument is a double-edged sword. it is the reflection of the film-maker's quality to make a realistic environment of WW II but it was closer to a parody i thought. Brad Pitt was depicted as an 'over-the-top' stereotype. The Shoshanna storyline ended with a cliched double homicide. They brought this 'fun' feel with WW II, what with the alternate American ending and all, but I was hoping for something more serious

How come forum's overloaded with traffic now?

That's the list of people online and posting now. Smart
-
So you will tell with a straight face that Inglorious Basterds was a great WW II movie?
-
You might want to rephrase that. But yeah, his passing set him apart but until age caught up, all the other aspects of his game were good, except for tackling ofcourse
-
@Stingray, We have enough purists. You're the crazy meme guy! This place needs a lift time to time
-
Yeah! Him. Career really took off now
-
Welcome to the forum. Agree with that but that's the price you have to pay for talent now. The transfer price is not really a true reflection of the players' ability but rather a reflection of how much his price is driven up by competition
-
True. Never really felt like it was a 'big' war situation that Germany and France were in and the movie was all stop-start-stop-start
-
a very average war movie but That Officer guy played by the Oscar winner - Chris something? his performance was great. To pull off that sense of unpredictability in your acting is great

Exam season all over the world? May really is a shit month. I'm done with my exams tomorrow although it's merely a formality now. Why do courses rely so much on theory? Everyone says you need to learn things, understand things but in the end, theoretical knowledge is also given so much importance. that is fucked up imo. Theory is just remembering a bunch of stuff and shitting it out during exams

I don't even remember this!

Which team are Chelsea's biggest rivals in England
Strike replied to newman 8151's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
The media are pushing Chelsea vs Arsenal as a big London rivalry now but I hate Spuds more tbh
