I think Jose will depend upon 2 strikers next season and will keep an extra one as back up. Costa and Lukaku will be our main strikers with Torres probably being our third option. Ideally I would rather have Ba for that role as he would offer more and be much cheaper but if no club is willing to take Torres then we will have to involve him.

The media knows that we are in for a defensive midfielder so they will link us with all the top possible options. The fact that Lampard and Luiz (who often played midfield for us) have left only intensifies this rumour so we shouldn't get excited on one rumour only.

If he does come here then I really do not think he will show the same passion he did at Arsenal and Barcelona. Oh yes this reaction was inevitable. KDB was sold because he could not adapt to Jose's system. He's a great player for Belgium because the style suits his natural game. I am sure he'll do well for an attacking team and then people here will start the usual drama of questioning why we ever let him go. Support Jose for all these kind of decisions also and not just for match results. If a player does not appeal to him then he will be sold and alternatives will be considered. Mata one of our best players got sold for the same reasons so there is no need to get so sad about KDB.

Del Bosque has incredible faith in him and to be fair Torres has done well for him so far. I am sure his experience factor helped him edge over some deserving players.

its amazing how you only remember the negatives and the positives. He had an incredible start to his Chelsea career and did very well during the first half of this season. Just because he ended it on an average note does not mean he's a bad player. Had Oscar been at some other club you'd be drooling over the prospect of signing him.

I don't understand this deal because we already have a Thiago of our own and that is Frank Lampard but I guess Jose knows what he is doing. He's worked with him before and must have some reasons behind the move.
