  1. No kidding. And you don't have to mention about Casillas, Hart or Neuer. Just look at De Gea. Makes one good save and the media creams all over him. Cech has been making great saves like that for ages now but hardly ever get a praise in the media. And the worst part of all is, IF Cech makes a mistake, they'll say 'oh he's not the same as before after that head injury' and uses all those idiotic cliches about him. It's pathetic really.
  2. Born in Ada Foah, Ghana, Atsu joined Porto at the age of 17, having begun his career at the Feyernoord academy in Ghana. Though he was briefly involved with the first team squad under André Villas-Boas he was soon loaned to top-flight Portuguese side Rio Ave and would spend the 2011-12 season at the club, featuring regularly. Returning to Porto for the 2012-13 season, he went on to make nine starts and eight substitute appearances over the course of the season, scoring once. On 1 September 2013 Chelsea confirmed that Atsu had signed for the club and would spend the season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem. The fee was reported to be £3.5m. He immediately became a first choice starter in a central attacking midfield position, playing alongside Lucas Piazon and displacing Gael Kakuta from the Vitesse side. Click here to view the record
  3. http://youtu.be/O6YGBtLjZT0 What. A. Save. Freaking brilliant!
  4. West Brom lost yet again. They have won just 4 of their 23 Premier League matches in 2013 and lost 13 of them. Steve Clarke under pressure?
  5. Liverpool top of the table for 2 weeks. Disgusting.
  6. You said Schurrle is two footed because he can play on both sides and I refuted your point with this: And yet, you didn't counter back the argument with a valid reasoning and/or example. Instead, you just repeated a baseless claim and said again that he's two footed because apparently he looks comfortable on the wings, which is just superficial. I agree that Mata is not two-footed but Schurrle has done nothing of note so far attacking wise for us to suggest that he's two footed.
  7. Oh look. First you talk about Schurrle being two footed and all that and now goes about the same thing on Mata and putting him down. You're not even reinforcing why you claim Schurrle is two-footed here with a solid point.
  8. Just because Schurrle can play on the left, right or through the middle, doesn't mean he's two footed. Mata can also play on the left, right and down the middle but he's not two-footed is he? Schurrle plays on the left yes but he always cut inside onto his stronger right foot, it's just the same as Mata cutting inside on this left foot when he plays on the RW.
  9. Can't agree with those who said the last 2 seasons was the worst under the era of Roman. It's ridiculous. Yes, we had many troubles and ups and downs in the 11/12 and 12/13 season but we ended up winning the Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League. If you want to talk about the worst, then look no further than the 10/11 season. Just came off the season of winning the Premier League and FA Cup but never even got close to defend those titles. On top of that, our performances in the Champions League were hardly inspiring either and in fact, none of our performances that season was any good. The players stagnated and our play was dull and there was nothing positive coming out from that season. The quality of players and play have since been improving and to think some would disregard what we did for the last two seasons, what certain players did and taking them for granted just because of all the talents we have got now is really pathetic!
  10. Maybe. Maybe not. It's only 4 games into the season. We'll play lots of games this season. The likes of De Bruyne, Van Ginkel etc will get their chances. At least wait a little while longer before passing judgment.
  11. He'll probably still dedicate it to him even if Mata was playing but maybe not show it like he did then. Torres is just basically showing a sign of support for a teammate and friend of his, just like how probably Mata has helped him during his tough time, who is supposedly having a tough time under Jose if you want to call it that. Don't see why a fuss has to be made out of this at all.
  12. Alex, KPB is cup-tied and can't face us for Schalke. This is from that same link you posted. He played for Milan in the play-offs and they qualified for the group stage, remember?
  13. Might strengthen their midfield but not necessarily their defence. Anyway, was just thinking of this game in isolation. Don't have to take it so seriously..
  14. Us without having to face Baines and Fellaini..
  15. Will be helpful if United can get Everton to sell them Baines and Fellaini..
  16. Blimey, talk about overreaction. He's just dedicating the goal to Mata for goodness sake.
  17. Nope but they are looking to challenge for the Top 4. Not saying our main aim is to challenge for the Top 4 and stay there but right now, don't think we can claim that we are title challengers just yet even if we are looking to do that. Too early to tell and we never know what might happened, just like in the past few seasons where we tailed off badly during winter and ended having to fight for Top 4. I know Mourinho is the manager now and all but don't think we should be taking risks loaning Moses to Liverpool. We also still need to make sure the competition for Top 4 is weak enough as possible so that it won't pose us any unexpected problems.
  18. 2-0, 0-0, 1-0, 1-0, 0-1. Another fun MOTD is on the cards...
  19. Talk about creating problems out of nothing..
  20. Have merged the CL group stage draw thread with this one previously used to discuss the Super Cup game. So anything related to Chelsea in Europe, discuss it in here. It has already been changed. Originally to be played on Saturday, now move to Sunday as stated there.

  23. Threatening you? What?! Apologies for misreading what you said but even when it was 11 vs 11, I still don't agree that we should be pressing them like what you're trying to say. Can understand when you said we shouldn't underestimate the attacking qualities we have but the thing is, people are looking too much into that resulting in overlooking the other areas where problems will appear if we try to attack Bayern last night. We may have the quality of attacking midfielders to attack teams and cause them problems but we don't have a really solid defence and pivot behind them to really be playing attacking game especially against the big sides. We saw how we tried to play an open attacking game last season and got totally exposed on so many occasions especially under RDM. As a team, we still don't have the balance and really the right players to be doing that. Hence for Mourinho in games like this, it's about finding the right approach, having the right balance in the team so that it gives us a chance to compete. And not to mention, just because we have attacking talents in our team, it doesn't mean we should just disregard the threat of our oppositions. Need to adapt to the circumstances at times.
  24. Think it's fair to say that Mata won't be starting many big games under Jose especially when it's away from home. However, think we should wait till after the international break and then see how he's being utilized particularly with many games coming up before we completely just disregard him of not being a Mourinho player or that Mourinho doesn't like him. It's painful or don't feel nice to see him not playing but I supposed we have lots of options now where some players will play certain kind of games, while some won't. And don't forget that it was September last year that Mata really got going into the season.
  25. It was just some sort of a tongue in cheek comment. Not saying he should have been sent off but with some of the rash looking challenges he made, it probably wouldn't be a surprise if the ref has sent it off. Me? Usually hypercritical on Luiz? Since when?!!
