Don't think so. He was average at best. Some of the things he did was good like his flick-ons and link up play with Cole but there were other times and quite a number of them where it was frustrating. He was overdoing and over-complicating things on the ball. Tried to do too much with the ball and not keeping things simple enough as well as at time holding onto the ball a tad too long when he could have released it earlier to keep the attack going or relieve the pressure defensively (when he tracks back).
I just don't get how can the 'all competitions' stats be almost useless. Yes, I do agree that it can distort the reality sometimes BUT if we are to win trophies especially those domestic ones, then we are bound to come up against average-poor oppositions which a player like Moses can be useful. When we bought him, think we all knew that he was never going to be a starter particularly in the key/big games but a decent squad player to come in and do a job for us if and when required (e.g rotations/suspensions/injuries). Granted he hasn't been exactly great like in the Premier League as you pointed out but we need to remember that last season was his first here with us and it was a huge step up from his time at Wigan. It will take time for him to adjust and even though Moses won't ever become a top quality player, he will improve and become a good squad player for us.
Again, do take note of the match kick off time stated above. It will be slightly earlier this time around. This is a semi final game and we'll face either Real Madrid or Everton in the final or 3rd/4th place play-off depending on the winner/loser here and in that other tie (obviously).

I think we'll see Ivanovic play quite a lot in both RB and CB throughout the season, depending on rotations and the games that we are playing in. We are not really well stocked with quality in both areas.
Guys, please get back to discussing about Mata in this topic...unless you are looking to be punished. Please carry whatever off topic discussion to the Pub or somewhere.
Even then, you could have still posted that news in Mata's thread and discuss it there rather than creating 1 new thread for it... Anyway, merging this with Mata's thread.
