  1. Yeah, Mikel has to play as a midfielder ahead of Oscar. I think we should go like this: Leaving Oscar on the bench to come on for Lampard/Hazard whenever they tire. 15 starts and 15 appearances from the bench would be reasonable for Oscar, unless he outperforms Lampard or Hazard. Oh yeah and whatever you say about Sir Alex, he wasn't the man who spunked 97 million on Mutu, Shevchenko and Torres.
  2. A chant is unnecessary at this point, he hasn't even done anything for the club yet. Let him play really well for a few weeks and then we can stretch our creative juices.
  3. It's hardly baseless speculation. Technical Directors/Directors of Football are supposed to be responsible for transfers. Unless we're paying this guy to do nothing, I remain convinced that every single signing since summer 2011 has been done exclusively by Mad Mike. Typically a manager gets little say when working under a TD/DoF, all they do is tell their superior what position they want strengthened. It is then up to the TD to decide which player fits that bill, and they can ignore the managers request if they feel like it. Of course all of the above still is speculation, but it's not entirely baseless, given on knowledge known from how continental sides operate with their TD's.
  4. Are United really going to spunk 30 million on a winger, when they already have quality out wide, instead of plugging an enormous hole in midfield?
  5. I'm not worried about his finishing, he has a great long shot on him. If he laces every one-on-one he gets like he's shooting from distance he should be fine.
  6. I just got a notification. Perhaps it's restricted to the 5000 club and admins/mods only.
  7. @capriccioso, That worked. Let me try the code with others. @, @We Hate Scouse, @Jim,
  8. This one worked. I'm getting the code right, but when its posted it just turns out as '@'.
  9. I wasn't being specific to Cavani. Obviously his circumstances are exceptional, that post was more suited to guys like Donadel or Gargano.
  10. @, Did you just mention me? I got a notification.
  11. Why would you want to leave? Great food, weather, etc. The club is on the rise up, if they can keep the squad together and recruit smartly they can win Serie A. The only bad thing about Napoli is the Camorra. And the threat of Monte Vesuvio erupting and covering the city in hot lava.
  12. I don't think he feels safe there. Just last year his house was robbed when he went to play for Uruguay. Napoli's Camorra are very powerful, and if one of their made men is running late on a payment up the pyramid, he isn't going to care who he has to rob or what he has to do. Even if he gets caught, they'll use their political influence to get him off. He deserves that, he's the best striker in the world. Torres is on £175,000 p/w.
  13. Let's not forget he sunk the Scousers in Athens. The cheek of him celebrating the first goal like it was all his own work
  14. But everyone loves Super Pippo. "That lad must have been born offside"
  15. One of my favourite strikers, and imo by far the best poacher of his generation, has retired . 288 goals in 623 appearances, a true football legend. Here is the great man pulling his various "THAT WAS NEVER OFFSIDE" faces
  16. Real Madrid can come in with a 200 million pound offer if they like, we won't accept unless we don't want Hazard. People are forgetting that we're not Man United or Arsenal or Tottenham- we choose when our players go and a big fat fuck you to all the big clubs (i.e. Barca/Madrid) who think they can buy who they want.
  17. But it would have been funnier if there was a pun. I am disappoint
  18. I can't see the Bosingwa or Drogba entries, either.
  19. How so? If Chelsea FC were a business, and AVB was the manager, he would have every right to sack each of our players. In any situation other than football the players were totally in the wrong, you must respect your manager no matter how funny his touchline squat looks.
  20. Incompetent manager? I'm not having that. It wasn't his fault the players acted like pretentious little dickheads. If they shut up and listened to him things would have gone a lot differently. And if he had some speed at the back, as well. Blame Mad Mike Emenalo for that. Mark my words, he will go onto great things in the future. We might not regret letting him go as we gained a Champions League out of it, but I'm sure with the right team he can achieve anything he wants to.
  21. And a lot of it. We don't have the firepower to actually beat the likes of Barcelona through pure attacking play. We also don't have the muscle to sit back and stifle them, either. It's not going to be a successful year for us in the CL.
  22. As I said earlier, I fear he won't make it. We have a pretty shit record with young centre backs.
