What happened at Guantanamo Bay is against international law. You can't torture suspects, you need a load of evidence before you can incarcerate someone. And even then, torture isn't permitted by the Geneva Convention- which the USA was a signatory to. Just because you're America and you fancy yourselves as some sort of holy force, doesn't mean the rules don't apply to you. Therefore Bush must be given the harshest possible sentence from the International Criminal Court. If they do death sentences for war criminals then he deserves it. Guantanamo Bay is a concentration camp, a modern day Auschwitz-Birkenau, and those that support it are no better than the Nazi's that were executed after the Nurnburg Trials. I'm shocked by your opinions on POWs. These guys are just following orders, they/their families be killed if they don't. So you think what the Japanese did in WW2 to Allied soldiers is okay, because the Allies posed a threat to Japan? 3000 civilians is nothing compared to what's happened in Pakistan and Afghanistan. As I said before all these predator drones do is attack entire villages. There may be at the most half a dozen terrorists hiding out in a village (mostly none at all, they prefer caves to urban settlements) and several thousand villagers. The drones take out anything that moves in the village. The elderly. The children. The pregnant, ill and otherwise incapable. And you're forgetting that none of these Pakistani/Afghani civilians had anything to do with any terrorist attack. They didn't request al-Qaeda to start a war they knew would bring them nothing but death. They're just simple peasants that are being killed in their tens of thousands on the whim of some general sitting in Washington, all because there MIGHT be a small time terrorist holed up in a village somewhere. You're not going to find the big names anywhere near urban settlements (look at Osama, he was living in a home that was isolated and surrounded by wilderness). The entire US Army need's a massive purge, starting with its supreme commander, the president. They didn't wage shit against you. al-Qaeda did. al-Qaeda are not the government of Afghanistan/Pakistan. What you're saying is identical to saying that every German during WW2 was a Nazi and still is today. The common people had no idea what happened and they sure as hell didn't support it because they knew that the US Army would be coming and they knew that the US Army was the single worst violator of human rights since the Wehrmacht. Vietnam, Korea, Granada... there's a long history of US Army breaking war protocols and getting away with it. You mention defending America. Defending what, exactly? Its laws and values. What does the USA, the ultimate democracy, value? Human rights. Why did you intervene in Iraq? Not just for the supposed WMD's, but also to save the Iraqi public from a madcap dictator. Human rights. And they're breaking them all the time in this War of Terror. It is not worth defending America if America itself cannot adhere to its own values and laws.

They don't 'have' to sell him. He has plenty of time to run on his contract. They can take a gamble and wait 2, 3 or even 4 windows to secure a 50 million+ transfer fee. As I said in the other FFP thread they aren't going to let him go on the cheap. He is their star asset, the one with by far the highest value, and they're going to make sure they can juice him for every last cent.

If I can get a job soon I'll be buying the away kit, which impresses me far more than the home (which is excellent, but not as good as the away IMO).
-
Also as far as Falcao goes, the transfer will be to the highest bidder. They will play hardball with him as he doesn't earn an unsustainably high amount (for his output, anyway), and if they're cash strapped they'll need more than usual to replace him. This isn't necessarily good news from our perspective, instead of 40-45 million we'll probably have to stump up something in excess of 50 million. They'll want at least 15 or so to spend on a replacement and I imagine the 35 will go straight into servicing debt so they can show UEFA that they have 'progressed', thus permitting them back into UEFA competition.

So, they pinched the clubs that were too small to make a dent in their TV revenues, and were too honest to cheat their way out of it. I'm still convinced when one of the big hitters gets into trouble it'll be quashed/the owner will ensure that they don't look like they're in trouble. Edit: I see headlines floating about like 'UEFA gets tough on FFP' and other sensationalised headlines to that effect. Which confirms to me that this was a PR stunt. Make it look like you're doing something, send out a message, and then do nothing for months/years. If anyone asks, all they have to say is 'We suspended 23 clubs, some of them huge clubs such as Europa League holders Atletico Madrid' etc. It'll get Platini what he wants, ascendancy to the president's chair at FIFA.

Yes. It's mentioned in one of the latter points that Barcelona encouraged their players to help out. But he's still a twat.

What does Kalou have to do with AC Milan? Also as far as Serie A goes, my club is Napoli. I don't really care for anybody else.

Does Malouda fancy himself as a Rastaman?

Here's a nice timeline which compiles the extents Barcelona went to to get their man, taken from 'Arsenalreport': Mes Que Un Club, indeed . I do feel sorry for Arsenal, what happened over that two year period was a disgrace to football, and I would rather see that stopped than Arsenal lose a player unfairly.
-
They reckon he wanted to stay, and that it was Xavi and other Catalan wankers that persuaded him/put media pressure on Arsenal to sell him. Which is true, to an extent. Xavi is a loudmouthed, classless prick. Terry, for all his faults and how much stick he gets, would never do something as outrageous as accuse another club of holding a transfer target in thralldom, nor would JT be involved in tapping up a player in the media. If pressed for a comment he might say 'Yeah, I think player x is a good player and he'll suit us well' instead of harping on about shit like 'CESC IS SUFFERING!!! FREE CESC!'. If suffering is being the captain of a world famous Premier League club while on hefty wages, then Xavi needs to take a long look at himself.

Do you guys bet on anything other than football?

Fabregas really left a bad taste in their mouths. It would be like us losing Drogba because some big Ivorian club wanted him (suspend all belief for a moment and pretend that ASEC Abidjan are the biggest club in the world) because he turned out for the youth academy a handful of times.

http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=101441 Surprising they rate United so high. They haven't been that fierce for a few years, things have quieted down since Pizzagate.

Youtube highlights prove nothing. A good video editor could make Heskey look world class through youtube. Aside from that I agree with your point. To cut it at the top level, no one can be purely physical and Fellaini must be at least competent skill-wise.
-
He'll do nothing of the sort. I can summarise his game for you: Cut inside. Cut inside. Cut inside. Cut inside. He's not going to be much of a winger, unless we force him to play on his correct side and weigh down his preferred shooting boot with lead.

That's a horrific stadium.

They hate Barcelona because of Fabregas-gate(s). I think a Barca-Chelsea tie would be a nightmare for most, they wouldn't know who to support. If Barca win, then the 'Cesc thieves! Van Persie was robbed!' get to progress, if we win, the scum from down the road progress.

What about Atletico?
-
He had a pretty good spell with Academica. Took them from pointless at the bottom of the league to a credible 11th.

I've never seen India play (except that 4-0 loss to the Socceroos). Australia are in the AFC, and I've argued for a long time that certain teams in the AFC (Japan, for example) are much better than the majority of UEFA teams. Then China come along and lose 8-0 and leave the Confederation looking like a joke.

Henrique doesn't like Palmeiras, he secretly supports Corinthians/Coritiba/Sao Paulo/any of Palmeiras' rivals

They hate Barcelona. They would never support them.

China are fairly useless unless they host the match at altitude, which the sneaky bastards often do in World Cup qualification.
