  1. If you didn't see earlier, I missed the game and started watching it exactly 12 hours late
  2. Ramires took his goal so well, why can't he do that all the time? LAMPARD!!!
  3. Aah, Fox Soccer. Every replay angle they showed had the ball on the line or in the 6 yard box. As it turns out, King is the cheat, he's looking right at the ball and he knows its over the line and he still protested. Poor show.
  4. Mata's 'goal' Have it, Twattenham. Though to be fair, thats why we need goal line technology.
  5. I worry about Ramires. I think he's not got too long left to go in his career. He isn't the best technically, so his value to us is purely that he can run all day, and he can do that at freakishly fast speed. He's only one bad injury or 5-6 years away from declining rapidly a la Essien. Essien is more refined than Ramires who is raw, but even his career looks over at just 30.
  6. DROGBA! MY GOD, WHAT A GOAL! Apologies for the 12 hour delay but I'm watching the match right now
  7. Kalou's passing is underrated. Also would it hurt commentators to stop calling Lennon "Arin Lenin"?
  8. Assou-Ekotto has a brilliant hairstyle. Also, I noticed that Mata played a bit deeper today, and much more centralized- I rarely saw him on the wings at all.
  9. Now, I haven't yet watched the Spurs game (don't tell me the score!!!!), but I think we're in with a sporting chance. We'll have to attack I think, forget defending, their defenders are out of form or injured and we should capitalise on that. They'll also be playing some kind of gung-ho 3-4-3 so defending for 90 minutes isn't an option.
  10. Be fair, the Napolitans were amazing. And some of the Benfica fans were really nice, as well, although Nigallhao let them down.
  11. No, we play football in Australia. Barcelona and Madrid may be the best supported, but first-hand evidence says that few English speakers support either team due to lack of coverage. That you have a cricket (an English sport played by England and its former colonial possessions) thread on a Spanish forum speaks volumes about the nature of your fans. You don't see Chelsea fan forums with bullfighting or flamenco threads do you? And I am surprised at your opinion of Australian football. It's followed fairly well here, in fact it is the sport that is most participated in during winter. Don't act like we are uncultured peasants who have only been interested in this sport for the past 5 years, football here has a great deal of history, and is well supported. The amount of Australian members on this forum is enough to prove that.
  12. Kagawa is brilliant but he's a bit fragile for England, no?
  13. When's kickoff? Isn't it 3 pm UK time? Edit: Oops, 6 pm. My bad.
  14. He was on course to be the GOAT keeper prior to that injury, which is saying something. He would have had to have overhauled Oliver Kahn to have done that, and that means winning the World Cup Golden Ball once. After it he's still been world class, but instead of progression to immortality as the GOAT, he will eventually be forgotten as one of the best of his generation. Not by us Chelsea fans, though
  15. A lot of clubs are interested in Hazard, it will cost us upward of 40 million to get him. Azpilicueta is a good shout, he's the kind of player we need. Modric is too expensive, we'll need 50 million for him. Tiote and M'Vila would be excellent and fairly cheap. We need to spend no more than 30-45 million this summer or we'll be in trouble with UEFA. But the point I'm making is not about money, its that our club has always looked at players that aren't expensive and said "they must be crap or everyone will be trying to buy them for 30 million". There are many quality players that are cheap. Podolski, for example would have been an excellent signing for us but we let Arsenal get him. He can provide some width on the left and cover for Mata.
  16. Considering Ballack what? You're killing me with the suspense
  17. This attitude is why our club will never be good with transfers. We'll let all the Demba Ba's and Papiss Cisse's of the world slip under our radar and spunk it all on Andriy Shevchenko and Fernando Torres. No more 'top players', thanks. Let's buy them when they have potential and then turn them into top players.
  18. He needs to work on his stamina a bit. One could argue that United relied on Ronaldo nearly as much but he didn't run out of steam 3/4 of the way into the season. Other than that he's had a pretty good first year.
  19. What a tragic end to what must have been a tragic life May God have mercy.
  20. I'm not from England and the FA Cup means as much to me as the CL does. Or at least it did until we won about 5 in a row I thought it enjoyed an even bigger reputation in England, particularly amongst the older fans?
  21. If Spurs win, they had better bloody well smash the Scousers. Or we'll face 6 more months of "King Kenny's a genius, our squad is good enough to win the league, we did a cup double" and "Small club, no history".
  22. I hope so but there's no guarantee with this crop.
  23. If only Roman would do to Gourlay and Buck what Liverpool did to Comolli...
  24. Yes, they get favouritism from their FA. But thats European football for you. The big boys seem to get an easy ride everywhere.
  25. Has anyone seen him at Cobham? Maybe Roman sent him to work in his evil lair in a volcano in Siberia
