  1. Reminds me of these: http://the-trawler.com/2011/07/15/the-secret-diary-of-andre-villas-boas-pt-ii/ http://the-trawler.com/2011/08/30/the-secret-diary-of-andre-villas-boas-pt-iii/
  2. Torres is valued at 31 million pounds by that site. I don't know how they can come up with these figures. Perhaps Ron the maths teacher (Zolayes) can design some equations for this purpose
  3. Transfermarkt (lol) values him at an astonishing 29 million.
  4. Looks like a Napolitan Camorra Capo in that photo
  5. 3 years left to run on his contract. Dress him up as a CL and multiple PL and other trophies winner (plenty of title winning experience), and pretend that his poor form is because he's still not quite 100%. Easy 10-15 million there.
  6. Nah, Mata will keep him out of the team in that position.
  7. SeB would come in real handy on this thread. Where are ya?!
  8. He's still got 3 years to run, is miles over the hill, and there is a far better player at the club (who will also ask for much less money) about to be pushed out. No sense whatsoever. If we give Essien a new contract as a result of booting out Kalou, I won't be happy.
  9. Remember guys... if we win, we're champions of the world. If anyone else wins it, its just a Mickey Mouse Cup
  10. Drogba, Kalou and Gervinho between them kept him out of the starting XI at the AFCON.
  11. It's nerve wracking. I would be devastated to lose Kalou at all, I don't know what I'd do given Drogba, another of my loved Chelsea players, has left as well. If he leaves you're probably in for a meltdown involving plenty of tears. If he stays it'll be a month or so of jubilant posting.
  12. I am in all sorts. Hoping and praying we give him a new contract.
  13. There's still hope. There is. Big Ron will announce a new 6 year deal. #clutchingatstraws.
  14. There might be a certain prestige to the CWC but more or less it's UEFA vs CONMEBOL. The other confederations may as well not bother turning up.
  15. Turkish and Brazilian players tend to shine in Turkey. Eastern Europeans also usually do really well. For some reason, Western Europeans struggle and effectively end their careers there.
  16. Salomon is a jovial, happy, childish lad, so he must like Mickey Mouse. If he likes Mickey Mouse, he'll be delighted to win the Mickey Mouse Cups
  17. I'm not criticizing the league, sorry if it sounded like that, there are some great players in Turkey. What I meant was, a lot of players (Kezman, for example) move there and are never heard of again. That's what I meant by graveyard, people with big reputations move there and when they come out they are rubbish.
  18. Moussa Sow has thrown away his career by going to that graveyard people call the Turkish Super League.
  19. He still hasn't won the CWC or the Super Cup yet
  20. What is most baffling is Essien, The beloved Bison is clearly past it, sadly. I can't believe he would get a new deal, when his present deal doesn't expire for a couple of years; that too ahead of better players like Kalou, Malouda and even Bosingwa. Injuries have sapped him so far now that he's a liability on the pitch. Best to let him go as he will be remembered as one of the greatest midfielders of his time and the passage of time may even cloud the perception today that he was a passenger in this CL triumph. In 10 years time people will probably have duped themselves into thinking he was integral because of his reputation and past performances.
  21. I have said this in the Neymar thread before, young sensations that are making their name in South America will more often than not go down the Robinho/Javier Saviola route. Neymar in particular, I see a rubbish future for him. Too coddled, too arrogant, and in the end, too unprofessional. All the next Pele/Maradona talk goes straight to their head and they act like they have already proven themselves to be the best of their generation. Cristiano Ronaldo is an arrogant prick but he's been there and done it all, he has a right to do so, and he always works hard on the training pitch. Reportedly, he doesn't drink, either. Neymar, on the other hand, is a training skipping, manager sacking, visit nightclub the night before a match, type of player. He has skipped training and not even been given a reprimand, he has been caught out on the town when he should have been resting, and got Muricy Ramalho sacked because he wouldn't let him take a penalty.
  22. I don't hate him. What gave you that idea? And I never claimed to support Hulk either, if you look back on this thread I'm on a neutral/don't sign position regarding Hulk. As for Lucas Moura, I'm always skeptical over South American youngsters who are heralded "The next XXX". I much prefer Piazon style, 'who's this guy?' young South American signings.
  23. I think he will be leaving, and I agree with the sentiments here. He got a lot of criticism but tended to deliver when it counted with some top drawer performances.
