With werner it is so obvious from watching his game with rb, let him do what Werner does best and he will produce number at very high clip. Do we need him to be great at build up and hold up? Nope, we have other player to do that. I think i mentioned this to Jason, it is similar to how klopp handled Salah.

Play azpi or alonso there no problem. It will be a drop off of course but I can still see us look solid. We have no midfielder who can really defend except kante and I don't need to say anything avout Kepa.

Mendy and kante are our two most irreplaceable player this season. We simply cannot tonlose any of them for long period of time.

I pick alonso over emerson any day of the week. Alonso problem is simple he is slow, emerson problem is he is so bar defensively yet he offer nothing offensively.

It is not about making 0 run behind. It is about playing with back to goal more. This is clearly Werner weakness. You don't want to throw him into the fire straight away, you want to ease him into it, and hopefully he can get better at it. Otherwise both the player and team will suffer. Lampard was kinda doing that by playing Havertz behind him, but Havertz back to goal play is also poor. It is kinda what klopp did with Salah albeit Werner case is more difficult. Klopp pretty much played salah as pure scoring machine when he came to pool. It worked wonder, then not sure who to give credit but Salah all around game has developed to the extent where he can be a creator also maybe not at wc level but at very2 good level. In epl maybe all of them kinda play with back to goal except Vardy. Although their responsibility is kinda different due to their skillset and player around him.

It's not pigeonholing player, it is about asking player to do less what he is bad at. I don't understand why you want Werner to fail. Werner has been very good for us running behind both from middle and the left. Yet you want him to do less of that, but more of back to goal work where you have player in Tammy and Giroud that are far superior at that role available.

I believe right now we have a good balance in the team with 433. The stranget part imo probably the players that are not natural in their role are Havertz, Werner.

Werner is better in the middle but the team is better with a tammy in the middle. It does not matter if Werner goal come from central area, he can make those run to the middle form lef5 wing. And yes tammy is good enough as a cf for title winning team. The most important thing is how to get the best out of the team and yes sometimes it mean getting the best of one player like what we did with Hazard but most of the time, it is about getting the best of combination of multiple players.

I personally don't think tactic is super important in international football. In international football especially when it get to knock out stage it is all about trying not to concede. If you have good defense you alway have a chance, and then it is all about making as little mistake as possible and hopefully you are lucky.

Silva has been very2 good, I was skeptical when we signed him due to his age but he has proved me wrong. He has coped with epl physicality very2 well. Plus like you mentioned he free kante from build up duty which is a big plus. In term of long term because clearly silva isn't long term solution, I think we had this conversation before. We don't need good cb, we need great commanding cb. Can marquinhos or rice lear our backline? I don't know. Rice barely played as cb and Silva was the leader for psg.

You are absolutely right saying that Thiago is better passer. But my point is if we want to talk about number especially g/a, last season kova and Thiago number is actually quite similar. It is because both played in similar role and position and their game is quite similar in a sense they are better deeper rather than closer to goal.

Mount is what I consider unaesthetic player. Their game is not eye pleasing and silky. This type of player usually tend to receive tons of stick from fans. Kovacic on the other hand is a very2 curious player. Silky smooth and Technically brilliant, but pretty much useless in final 3rd. He probably will never produce number for us but I doesn't matter, somebody need to bring the ball to the front player and Kovacic is just happened to be very good at it. Comparing Willian to Ziyech make little sense, other than both player are wide player, there is very little similarity in term of their strength and role in the team. If we have Fabregas and hazard on the team, i will take Willian over Ziyech but in this team, we need a creator, that is pretty much Ziyech.
