  1. Do players get paid for representing their country? I don't think they do. In club football you get players representing their employer, a company.. many play just for the money, no sense of pride wearing their team's colours. In international football they play for something else, for their nation and pride. International competitions hold more value also, since they are played and can be won only once every 4 years. That's 2, maybe 3 chances to win it in a player's career. Yes, club games are much more exciting, but international games involve more honour and pride. I think most players would prefer the World Cup over CL.
  2. Should fit right in with QPR
  3. Does he use the rabona so often because his left foot is shit or just for effects?
  4. SeB's post in the other thread made me think twice about Kakuta. He has proven his vast football knowledge and he's been following Kakuta for a long time, he's convinced that Gael has a shit mentality. If Seb is right about him, then we should either sell him or loan him out in hope that he has a remotely successful loan, ups his price and gains more interest. I'll go with the neutral choice for now - loan.
  5. Lol... Ash was determined to make dramatic statements and then casually strut away. That "now nobody can say nothing to me" was done in similar style. He's probably been watching CSI Miami and taking notes from Horatio. ^ Somebody seriously needs to edit sunglasses on him and put the YEAAAAAAAAAH at the end. Bonus:
  6. Stats provide some sort of basis for comparison, but it needs to be on level terms. They rarely tell the full story. Since they (Kagawa and Hazard) are different players who never played in the same league, comparing stats is redundant but can make some people sleep better in their hopeful dreams.
  7. Dortmund > United If Dortmund kept all their best players, they would become a real force in Europe. No doubt they will now replace him with somebody as good and for peanuts. Sahin perhaps? Although I'm hearing he's going to Bayern instead. I have a feeling Kagawa will shine here, a perfect signing for manu. He's still a shit mercenary though, Meireles is twice the player he is
  8. True. Overthinking can drive one mad, it's not healthy. I don't know how about you guys, but I won't waste another brain cell on the Hazard saga. The official announcement was meant to relieve your nerves, but instead I see people now foaming over Real and Barca, ridiculous. If he decides to move on later in his career, then fine, it's not like everybody we sign have to be Lampards or Drogbas. Just enjoy watching him play. We have his signature on a long contract which stretches to his peak age, that is the only solid fact we have right now and it's a pretty damn good one. I will be back in the transfer thread in some years when rumours about his imminent transfer start circulating, but meanwhile... chill.
  9. What's this crap going on in here? Don't you all think it's been blown out of proportion now? Tbh, I've seen the staff come out with warning announcements and such many times in the past, and later when things have cooled off, it's all forgotten. I haven't seen them actually strictly enforce some martial laws, they have always been lenient. I think those warnings/sanctions/whatever are just to make people think about what they're doing and to put out some sort of guide of what's wrong and what's not. I doubt every minor isolated case of derailment, offensive language and whatnot will be stricken down with the hammer of Thor - that's ridiculous, there would be no members left in that case. So just chill. The sooner you let this thing cool off and fall into deep abyss of long forgotten memories, the sooner you can get back to your harmonious life here. PS I'm not trying to be offensive, please don't kick me out

  11. Yep. I'm sure even Arsenal are laughing over this. It would have been more logical to use Liverpool, at least that's plausible.
  12. It's the job of the passer to measure the weight of the pass, not for the runner to be born quicker. Real good passers know their teammates' strengths and weaknesses and thus can make calculated passes. If you had Terry making a run at full speed and somebody giving a slightly heavy pass to him, you don't condemn him for being slow, you condemn the passer. And you certainly don't praise somebody for "almost pulling it off". Your love for Kalou has clouded your judgement, he was never a good passer, he had his moments like the Torres one, but like with everything else - not consistent enough, leaning towards being consistently bad at that. In fact at the beginning of the season in a few games I remember counting Kalou's misplaced passes and failed dribbles, and there were awfully a lot... even the easiest ones.
  13. Doubt that Gordon would be satisfied with sitting on the bench all the time.
  14. Google translate: In England and I eat a good snack I doubt him eating a good snack means his brother is having a medical at Chelsea.
  15. Yeah I found that already, but it has been publishing for a long time now.. I thought it's a dead case or is it worth waiting?
  16. Is there a video of Hazard's touches versus England? Can't be bothered watching the whole game as it's supposed to be boring.
  17. What a fucking way to make your debut, son!
  18. That's great, in that case it shouldn't be too difficult to sell him with this wage. If he were on 100k+ it would be hard to find anybody wanting him.
  19. I think he has a buy back clause of some sort. I remember AVB talking about it. So if we ever wanted to, we could get him back.
  20. Is he really on that little? I thought after his monster form he was offered way over 100k.
  21. I find it hilarious that some people really think he isn't going to sign for us. I'm a pessimist by nature, but I'm 100% confident in this deal to go through. I just can't see a player trolling the world by spouting lies on his official website, which twitter accounts basically are. It isn't even comparable to Robinho, because I don't think he ever actually said for a fact he was going to play for us.
