An injury ridden player, no thanks.

We often complain that keepers have games of their lives against us. Imagine what our opponents feel when Big Pete is on form. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myljhwQjnoU

I take it Spike is having a date with some broad?

8 months already?! Damn it time flies It feels like much more recent when you broke the news. Oh I wanted to say, @, I fucking hate you, your name has been haunting me the whole day. Korea biiiiiiiiipuu.... fuck.

How long was he out? Maybe he just needs to recover.

Please don't ruin this thread by talking about you-know-who. We have something beautiful going on here (talking about a striker that scores), no need for it to snowball into yet another extensive discussion that involves you-know-who.

Every bit as good and much better. I don't get the fuss over that Banks save, is massively overrated just because it happened in a classic game between England and Brazil and the shooter was Pele.

I'm pretty sure they said "cunt" at one point.

People compare him to Kalou because he's black and a utility winger.

The best April's fool thread so far (not that there is much contest). I won't bet my life on that it is one though, who knows, your controversialness has no limits, a beast that cannot be tamed. I think the last sentence of the OP is the most controversial ever.

I don't know, to me it looks like he only turned his shoulder to protect his face. Torres jumped for the ball, how could he have moved away from it?

Just had a look at the Southampton goals. I don't understand what this free-kick discussion is even about. Mikel had zero chance of reaching that ball, what the fuck, the shot was too high even for Yao Ming to reach it. And if it's about him not jumping, the wall was clearly instructed to stay in place. Out of 4 men only Torres jumped, the rest stood still. Maybe I misunderstood something, what is this argument over the free-kick about?

I don't see anything in the spoiler tags

22 is hardly very young. He probably lacks proper gametime, it's hard to get yourself into any kind of game rhythm by playing bloody 3-4 minutes. Though I agree, he was much better before AFCON kicked him out of his form.

To be fair United didn't look interested for large part of the game. I was very disappointed with Benitez too, the lineups vs Soton and Utd clearly show which competition he prioritizes. Ashley Cole got injured as a result, when he really should have played against Southampton and Bertrand should have started against United. United, in both games, played exactly the way we wanted. They didn't press, they left space to exploit. Of course kudos to our boys for actually capitalizing on it. I'm happy with the win, but I'm not overly excited.

What drog was he on today? Because he certainly added some Drog to his Ba. Man that was bad. No but seriously, it felt like playing with Drogba over a long time. Held the ball up, good link up, won aerial battles, had a fantastic finish. Simply put: dominant and deserved his MOM award.

I haven't said any of that, I seriously don't know what you're on about.

Whatever you say

For me? What are you talking about. He can stay here for all I care, but he should have proper competition. Romeu? This guy is like a phantom, one moment he's here and playing, the next he's nowhere to be seen. Has he gone to Barca or smth? For the sake of the team his position should be contested more.

Probably the best post in this topic. It basically recaps perfectly what we already know about him - he is very dependent on the situation. He is a limited player and serves best under certain conditions. He isn't only bad or good, he's both. It all depends on various things with him, but this shows he's a limited player. His performances are in direct correlation with how we're trying to play and who are playing. If we play within his limits under conditions that suit him, he's great. The moment the team breaks through those limits and he has to get out of his comfort zone, he starts lagging and becomes error prone. In short, I agree with everything Peace has said. It was the most honest analysis which doesn't unanimously say he's shit or he's good, it says he's both and that's true. This is why he is inconsistent imo, we're constantly juggling between playing styles and different lineups every game. It's no surprise he was at his best under King Carlo who persisted with a certain style and constant regular starters. I view him as a player who thrives on stability and is easily caught in between.

So the same guys who hired Benitez to lead us in the right direction? God...

One question. Does he get plenty of defensive help in Soton? Or is he left alone like our fullbacks?
