  1. He actually dropped Cahill. Jose you legend!
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2902414/When-Hollywood-came-Chelsea-Raquel-Welch-stood-Stamford-Bridge-touchline-shouted-Wooee-bye-bye-Ossie.html When Hollywood came to Chelsea... Raquel Welch stood on the Stamford Bridge touchline and shouted at Peter OsgoodSome great pics in there of Raquel Welch and Peter Osgood. (the one in the pic below isn't Welch).
  3. 'I had sat down with Ferran (Soriano, the chief executive of both clubs) and it was all about New York. There was no mention of Man City. If they had wanted to speak to me on behalf of Man City, with New York in the pipeline beyond that, because I was a free agent, but that was never the question at all.'To be honest when I thought about five or six months off, I thought it was quite a result. I thought I've been playing solid for a long, long time. It will be a good break. I'll find a way to keep fit. I thought I maybe could train with Chelsea.' 'In a million years I wouldn't celebrate if I scored against Chelsea. I used to celebrate when I scored against West Ham, but that was a different situation. When I left West Ham there was a hostility from me towards them over certain things - old new now. But with Chelsea? Never. 'I swear to God, if I went to the Bridge and they booed me for 90 minutes and I scored the winner, I still wouldn't celebrate. It would never come into my head and I think the fans there understand me and how I feel about it. I would never celebrate against Chelsea. That would be ridiculous.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2904229/Frank-Lampard-insists-never-intended-play-Premier-League-club-wouldn-t-celebrate-scoring-Chelsea-booed-90-minutes.html
  4. Yokohama: Profit $123.5 million (2010) Samsung: Net income $30.1 billion (2013) Holy crap... Yokohama are making a serious investment if the reported figure is correct. 32,4% of their 2010 profit if they pay us 40M annually.
  5. You people are acting as if he's dying or leaving, but he's only announced resignation from admin position. Am I missing something? Good luck, Steve, in your pursuit of happiness!
  6. The logo looks actually really good. The main advantage over Turkish Airlines being only one line of text, taking less real estate on the shirt.
  7. Hence the "rubber stamp" comment. Though MichaelDance could be correct about Pellegrini, guess we'll never know.
  8. I doubt Pellegrini was a major player in this, most probably only a rubber stamp. This reeks of City's and Lampard's desire to screw us over.
  9. Not sure if this has been posted before. Frank Lampard has signed deal to join New York City FC in July, agent says So basically it was known from the start, but I clearly remember one of Lampard's first interviews with City where he claimed that this opportunity was a total surprise to him. Sigh...
  10. What's baffling is that MLS didn't consider that third party is prohibited in England and ivestigation would follow on those claims thus exposing what they were trying to hide. Either stupid or there is more to it than is being told.
  11. If we got 30M then yes, otherwise I agree with @Jason. Marin or Moses? They will be worse with the minutes Schürrle is getting, no player is going to build up any kind of form with such inconsistency.
  12. The Lampard camp had to say something because his image was under attack, but he was never going to admit to lying and scheming. Probably written by his PR manager.
  13. Jose doesn't rotate the defensive line, especially centre backs, so it's no surprise that Cahill, being the younger one out of the two, is the most used. And 34-year old Terry is not far behind in 3rd place. But tbh looking at this, it is definitely too disproportionate. It can't be about quality either, because it's not like for example Ramires or Remy are hopeless players. Jose is just the kind of manager who likes playing it safe and I imagined it would be like this when it was announced he'd become our manager, so I have no serious gripes, as long as Jose Mourinho is our manager. However, he seriously needs to look out for the overused players, because there are signs of burning out (most visibly Cahill and Ivanovic, who have been playing insane minutes). If this continues then I'm afraid it won't be long until the effectiveness of Matic and Fabregas will drop, and then we are in trouble, because the efficiency of our play rotates around those two.
  14. Now I'm certain Lampard was part of the "player power" problem. It was not a myth. A selfish greedy cunt will always cause discontent in the team when their needs aren't satisfied to the fullest. I still remember the way he casually strolled around the pitch whenever AVB played him and we were desperately looking for inspiration from our leaders, he visibly didn't give a fuck despite being the (vice)captain. His only aim was to get rid of AVB so he could be replaced by someone who would hopefully play him more and thus have a higher chance of earning another big fat contract. Like the time he used Jose's Inter to blackmail the club. He showed his true face for a glimpse when he referred to AVB as "that other bloke" with a giant grin on his face. Last season Jose used Lampard sparingly and there is a possibility that Mou started seeing through his bullshit. He was probably offered a contract that the club knew he would refuse, thus "forcing" him to leave while saving face by being able to say that they did indeed offer him a contract. Lampard, being offended by that and bitterly seeking retribution, didn't consider it a serious offer and went on to claim that no offer was made to further try to stain Chelsea's image. If I had to choose who was lying, Jose or Frank, I'd say Frank all day long. Jose definitely saw through his bullshit, this explains his short but telling "love story over" comments. Jose has never been shy to praise his former players, never has he had such a change of mind so quickly, from saying "the model professional and greatest midfielder to having worked with" to "I don't talk about him, it's over". Not a single unneutral word about one of the standout players of his career, none. Frank, I started watching football and following Chelsea mostly because of you and Terry. Now, some 10 years past, I'm following Chelsea and there would be nothing more satisfying than BEATING you and fucking Manchester City, who you would have never even considered before the megabucks arrived. I hope you play against us later this season so Matic and Terry could hack you on your ass for the greater part of your miserable presence on the field. (Yes, I know he isn't reading this, I'm just fucking venting.)
  15. As we so often see, money trumps everything in football.
  16. Are there are any rumours where Pique hasn't told something to somebody?
  17. So by negotiating it down 1€, we are actually negotiating it down by 112 million €. Go figure
  18. Lol at all those crazy offside replays, obviously put there to make the video wee bit longer, because there was no material Also nice to see Torres staying true to his trying to dribble past 3 players, well done son, you learned a lot.
  19. Has anybody actually asked Pellegrini or the higher-ups for comments about this deal?
  20. So that means JT has scored by far the most open play goals. I don't even know what to say about this man that hasn't been said already. By the way, am I correct that he scored in 3 consecutive games recently? Or was there a one/two game dry spell in between?
  21. So can we place bets now on how big a salary Messi and his companions will extortionate out of this?
