He officially claims he moved to Manchester because he was being "molested" by girls every time he left his house or went out in Liverpool! To me I rather think Ms. Fellaini gave the interview instead of the big guy You know what I also like about Fellaini. This is the car he comes to practice with. Probably he will have 4 bentleys a Ferrari & 2 aston martins on his driveway... but still!
-
In fact he have always been a DM (also at Standard de Liege where he started). He played together with Witsel and Steven Defour (FC Porto but also a Man U prospect) and this midfield was certainly one of the reasons why Standard won the Championship twice in a row after having to wait for it 25 years! Both Fellaini and Witsel played more defensively while Defour was the playmaker in front of them. Interesting thing to know is that Fellaini himself likes the DM postion best and also claims he's best at this position. He started at Everton as a similar player in DM. But I think the Everton sympathizers (I don't wanna hear fans here ) are better placed to give an update about his history there. I know he started in DM... a little later he was in midfield... than attacking midfield... and eventually even as a full attacker. I think one of his best attributes is the fact that Fellaini is soooo flexible. He can be your box to box player... both more over you can put him in every position between those boxes as well. Please don't be blinded by all his goals he is scoring at the moment (and I know a lot of people do this)... This makes people think he should absolutely be a AM or even ST. Don't forget his best attributes are air challenges and ball recuperation. He has a more than fair technique and passing skills for a beast of his size. And he proves to be the best wing man a playmaker (or a guy playing in the pivot position) can wish for! In that case I would love to see Fellaini and KDB playing next too each other in these roles. (of course KDB will also work with Essien, Mikel & Fellaini will also work with Ramires). I he worth 22£ million? Must say for a hot prospect like him... that's a fair deal! Btw: @SeB => I'm sorry I haven't replied on your (great!!) article! I must say it was a really good read and you mention a lot of valuable pro and con's. I know you're not convinced of his role here at Chelsea... This is the only thing we disagree on .
-
More than fair to judge him on his season and not 1 game (were all Villa was absolutely sh*t). You will notice that statistics show Benteke, with an average of 7,6 air challenges won / game is an absolute rock. It might surprise you that no one in the EPL has better statistics! Their last game against Swansea he won 11 out of 13 air challenges => that's solid! It surprises me that he is even doing better than Fellaini on this point! So I guess he just had an offday against us... also he's a player with a lot of character... and is a fighter. When you see your defense having a laugher, conceding 8 goals!!, I think you are not too motivated anymore to give it your all on 'his island'! This! I would never consider buying Benteke instead of Lukaku. Benteke is doing really well at Villa, but this has a lot to do with confidence and the amount of game time he gets. If you would give Lukaku the same amount of minutes... I'm sure he would do even better (figures show this if you compare goals, etc.) So Benteke to Chelsea... naahh Recall Lukaku if you need a striker of this type!

No kidding! I prefer the Christian version => the result of making to many crosses with rough hands

Strange news in Belgium media (started on rubbish sites but now als the reliable sport websites took this story) => "Chelsea wants to use Courtois in an exchange operation to sign Falcao. Radamel's pricetag of €50 million is a little bit too much. But since Courtois is said to be happy in Madrid, Abramovitch would like to use him is this swap. Courtois is supposed to have a market value of €13 million. This could lower the price of Falcao sensitively." First I thought 'utter bullsh*t' => no reliable sources AND Falcao has just announced he wants to stay at Athletico until the end of the season. BUT the fact that one of the main newspapers took over this story got me doubting. Truly hope this is a nonsense story. Although it would be great to see Falcao in a blue shirt... it would be absolutely stupid to release Europe's most talented goalkeeper!! If an exchange is on the table... why don't they just accept Nando for around €30 million. In any case NOT COURTOIS!! main source is always given: "the daily mail". However I cannot seem to find the original article. Anyone of you guys can?

Chill @Bluesmaster first of it looks like Chelsea is becoming THE place to be for Belgians. A lot of talents are already in... if others (Fellaini) will follow... Chelsea might be a great base for the progress of all our players as well as our national team => This is undoubtly an important point for EdenWith Thorgan... he also has his brother here => his family, who is really important for Eden also will live (or be living) in LondonHe have choses us a summer ago... he could have gone anywhere!! I bet he must love London as a city and liked our future project (probably he knew about all the belgians coming... Make no mistake... these guys talk about that a lot during national squad games)He earns a lot and lives in a great cityThe spanish liga has only 2-3 important games every year. This is the same like in France. I think Eden had it with those 'easy games'. He's a guy that really needs to find a challenge in the game... he won't get this by playing Espanyol, Mallorca, Osasuno, etc... every year.Last but least: Spanish government just voted a new law that taxes on income wil increase from 24% => 52%!!! Which means that Real madrid will have to give him a weekly income om almost €500.000 for Eden to remain in the same position as he is in today => not gonna happen I have faith that the choice for Chelsea was a well thought one! This future project with all belgians around him (AND his brother) will certainly be important for Eden! His future is Blue => KTBFHH!! :cfc: :cfc: :cfc:

Well what'd you say! Who would have thought that Mr Henrique actually has a good knowledge of belgian beers: respeito homem!! So I don't know if these beers are on the market in your country... but if so, you need to try: Duvel Rochefort 10 Chimay Bleue LaChouffe Triple Westmalle & the most wanted beer on earth: Westvleteren (now on sale in US somewhere)

i will not mingle in the whole... 'will he come to CFC or not' debate. Just found a great compilation of his skills. I don't know if he will fit in a physical league like the EPL with his creative/dancing like football style. But I think we can all admit... His style of play is just a joy to watch for every football fan!!

I just think the remark you made about Lukaku is rather bold to say... I didn't expect such comments from a motm. But like we said... everyone is free to have their own opinion! The european scouts I'm talking about are all these guys who were fighting for Lukaku's signature when he left Anderlecht (Milan, Juventus, PSG, Ajax, PSV, Dortmund, Real Madrid, ...) Let's just wait and see how Romelu responds to our difference in opinion in a year or 2-3
-
Fine by me... I have respect for your opinion, it's just not mine. If you would like to write of Lukaku by seeing 5 minutes of his games, fair deal! But you do realize that you smack half of european top scouts in the face with a wet towel by saying this . No problem for me... everyone has the right to have their own opinion! The reason why I (I don't feel targeted, but in my specific case) am not posting in a lot of threads is because I don't think that after following Chelsea for 2 years I have clear views about all our players. The belgians I've been knowing forever so I guess my opinion in these topics is well worth something! Also I just noticed that I have half or your reputation with 7 times less posts than you... I don't want to attack you at all but just to say that I guess that not all of my posts here are b*llshit . Cheers!
-
Hmm I guess I would be one 'of those belgians that just got their egos hurt and arent sensible enough to have a civilized discussion'. Nice statement for MOTM I must say. Why on earth would my Ego be hurt?I'm not Lukaku. And not sensible enough to have a civilized discussion? Let's go: So your whole point is about talent AND about the fact that in your opinion Lukaku clearly misses raw talent to become, one day, a top striker at a club like chelsea. Fair enough. Let me give you my opinion on this topic! I would clearly disagree with you on the whole 'lacking talent' statement. I would like to ask you to clearify what you understand by 'talent'? As I'm reading your posts... I expect you say that 'talent' is something you can see after seeing a kid play only 5 minutes. I agree on you on this fact. I don't agree with you on the fact that this talent would never be influenced anymore in their further careers. It's like... ok your an amazing talent on your 6 years old => you will play for any top team in the world. When you don't shine in your youth teams every single week, this would mean you will never reach toplevel. I think professional football will show you more than enough proves of this statement being not 100% correct. Also.. what is football talent for you? Because I'm starting to think that you like creative and flexible football players the most. I must admit I am also a huge fan of Hazard, Mata, Messi, Iniesta & Xavi... But to say that you're only talented if you can dribble, shoot, be agile and creative... hmmm I don't think so. Lukaku clearly was a player that grabbed the attention of any spectator that watched him play in his youth teams. He made the difference in a lot of games. Clearly his impressive physical presence played a big part in this. But I think you can agree with me that every soccer team (also in the very low leagues) have guys with amazingly strong bodies... But if you don't combine this physical presence with a lot of talent.. you will never ever reach the level of a Division 1 team... let alone a Premier league team OR even a Top premier league team. If you say Lukaku has not enough talent to be a topstriker... You make a fool out of almost all european top teams scouting cells, who were begging for his signature the moment he became Belgian League's top striker in 2009! I think I can understand you on a certain point, which is: the moment he made his debut in Anderlechts first team... I had the same feeling as you. Hmmm impressive body... but way to big and clumsy in his movement to ever become important for our team.Than he started scoring goals... => 'ok against lower table teams... says more about those team's defense than about Lukaku's talent. A little later he started scoring important and game winning goals, also against Belgians Top teamsAnd eventually he even managed to score important goals in Europe.. at age 16-17! He became the most important player at Anderlecht.I can understand you think Anderlecht is a lousy team in a lousy league... but this shows little respect! So Lukaku and talent (or the lack off talent concerning your point of view.) What about: physical presencegood headersa nose for scoring goalsspeedpowervery strong shot with his left footAre these no talents for you? I really cannot understand you don't see these attributes as important for a young potential top striker! Lukaku has the amazing talent that he can really put any defense under pressure. If you want to use him as a super sub... he has all the abilities to change a lost game! If you use him as a starter... I guarantee you , you will see goals! Somewhere in the beginning of this topic I said the same thing. When he was not even on our bench.. people where complaining about the same things. My advice then was (and still is)... give the boys playtime and he will prove anybody wrong. At this time... Lukaku is on the n°3 spot of strikers with the least minutes needed to score a goal (Dzeko & Hernandez in front of him)! Same discussion can also be held about these two guys actually. Would you say they are clear talents? Or not? IMO these boys have one big talent that is really important to any topteam => their nose for goals! And this a talent where you are born with and which is VERY difficult to learn afterwards!!! I don't understand why you cannot see this on Lukaku. Let him finish the season at West Brom (maybe even another year after) and let this guy prove your wrong himself. If he fails after this time and is not ready to fight for a spot at Chelsea... Then I will be more than men enough I was wrong about my believe in Lukaku. I hope you will do the same thing. And until that far... I think it's fair to Roms that we do not judge him before he even has got the time to prove himself for us... what do you think? The reason why I 'attack' your opinion... is because I'm clearly couldn't disagree with you more. Why do I think I'm in a position to tell this? I have seen almost every game of Lukaku in the last 4 years. Correct me if I'm wrong... but I don't think you have seen him play as much as that. Also the fact that almost every important scout in Europe is convinced about the quality Romelu has... clearly supports me back

Absolute toptalent! And the good thing is he's still playing in a 'small' team! Instead of Vermijl (Man U) Pereira (Man U) and (luckily for us) Musonda (Chelsea :cfc: ) Latest news here in Belgium is that he wants to leave PSV because they're not fulfilling their part of the deal! Both Manchester teams are linked to him... Although I wouldn't say we are out of the race already. He's part of the even more talented Belgian generation (yes you read this well) => the U17! The fact we have Musonda can play a huge deal in this story. But of course Vermijl & Pereira are already at Man U... so we will need to play our cards well!!

Clearly there are some pro's and con's about the figure of Fellaini. The biggest question of them all would be... is he a AM, a ST or a DM?? Must say IMO he as always been at his best for the team in the CDM role. He's an absolute beast to cope with... winning almost every header and 50/50 in midfield + setting up a lot of counters after successful tackles! And the contra side... you might say he slows down the game by his footless attitude. Fellaini himself also stated that his favorit position is the DM! But it's remarkable to notice the different positions Moyes has put him on the last seasons... and his great performance as an Attacking midfielder recently! His impact on the EPL these days is quite remarkable => was voted EPL player of he month November. He scored 8 goals in only 13 games this seasons... and to be fair... the goals were not against reading, wigan and QPR. Gamewinners against Man United & Aston Villa, equalizers against Arsenal & Man City & Fulham... Everton is only 3 points behind us this season and Fellaini have played a great role in this performance! With the bad news we got today about Romeu... I think maybe the debate to attract Fellaini to the bridge this winter can be reopened. Let's say we will all follow him from up close in our away game against Everton on December 30th!!
-
In fact they never played together. Mbokani was playing at Standard de Liege when Lukaku had his break through at Anderlecht. When Rom's left for us here at Chelsea... Mbokani was indeed attracted to replace him!
-
Mbokani is a very strange player to be honest: He was born in Kinshasa (Zaire) and played at some local clubs there before joining Anderlecht In the season 2006-2007 (at the age of 20). Although he managed to score 4 goals in 9 appearances in the first team... his season was one with many lows. Especially because his attitude was so poor he was unmanageable (and I would say at Anderlecht we are quite used to deal with attitudes). Interestingly he was then transfered to on of Anderlechts biggets Rivals in the Belgian League => Standard de Liege. Maybe they had a little more patience with him... because in 3 seasons at Liege, Mbokani managed to score 39 goals in 81 games, winning the league's title with Standard de Liege 2 consecutive seasons (it was the first title for Standard in 25 years!!!!). Together with Milan Jovanovic (he was transfered to Liverpool later that year) he was pretty unstoppable! Jovanovic went to Liverpool (failure since he didn't get many minutes there! Although I'm sure he could have done something would he have been giving a little more playing time) and Mbokani was transfered to Monaco in 2010 (and a 6 months loan to Wolfsburg) before coming back (remarkably) to Anderlecht at the beginning of the previous season. After his total failure to perform at Monaco and Wolfsburg + with his attitude in the back of our heads... we Anderlecht fans were not to keen about resigning him. BUT must say that after 1,5 year with us again... he proved himself to be very important for our team, scoring 27 goals in only 39 appearances (a few in the Champions League as well)! Also he plays a huge role in last years title and the fact that Anderlecht is again at the top of the league. Good to know is that Mbokani was reunited with his former buddy at Standard de Liege again (Jovanonic). I must admit I have never been a fan of Mbokani. He had the wrong attitude when he started here at Anderlecht and is the guy that would love to show off his new Ferrari California, even after losing a game to a weaker side. Footballwise... I must admit he did surprise me the last couple of years. He absolutely shined at Standard de Liege, pure class! He got his transfer to Monaco and Wolfsburg... where he really did NOT perform at all. You can Imagine I really didn't wanted him to come back to Anderlecht with the form he was into... especially since indeed he was brought to replace Lukaku (the boy that gave us so much goals and pleasure in the previous 2 seasons). But after 1,5 season... I must say, apart from his attitude, Mbokani is a very important player for us who's level is way above the Belgian League. As said here before... he indeed had no problems to hassle the defense of Milan, Zenit or Malaga. Conclusion: If Mbokani is surrounded by the right people AND he feels well... he can shine in any European midtable club in Europe. To be playing at the Top Clubs in Europe... I think he will have a struggle... but the talent and class is surely there... so he could prove me wrong! But after his failing seasons at Monaco & Wolfsburg... I'm wondering which European team is willing to risk their money on him! => Chelsea prospect... IMO absolutely not! Juventus, Tottenham & Fulham are said to be following him closely... maybe we can already see him in the EPL next season.

Alarming news in Belgian Media: reports say Russian media are writing a Goalie exchange could happen already this winter! Reason: Anzhi Makachkala are ready to place a 10 million bid euro on Petr Cech in the upcoming weeks. If the club would ever accept this offer... Courtois could be between Chelsea posts a lot sooner than expected. IMO this is total bullshit. But with Russian teams... you just never know (remember HULK & WITSEL, ETO'O,etc.). Also a 10 million bid on a goalkeeper is something for a club to think about... even for a hero & fan favorite like Petr. I know Courtois is about ready to find his spot in the Chelsea team... but I would rather see Cech in the goal until (at least) the end of the season! Also it woud be way better for Courtois' development if he could train together with Petr for a few months! Story to be continued... I will keep you guys updated!
-
Belgian media are reporting he is training with the first team these days! The 16 year old midfielder normally plays with the U18 and sometimes even with the U21. In preseason, Musonda already had a few trainings with the first team. But a U18 player that trains with the first squad in the middle of the season apparently is unseen! This only shows once more what a true gem we have in our hands! Hopefully in the near future he will give us many great moments! ps: Charly himself stated he wants to be a regular starter at the first team in 2 years. Looks like he's well on schedule
-
This! I can understand that a lot of emotions were involved in this crucial derby (for the first time since very long Atletico are in front of Real in the table!!) but both goals were unstoppable. I cannot see why they want to blame Courtois for this defeat? Maybe the Freekick was a slap in the face because it was Ronaldo once again? Feel free to judge yourself http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xvje6s_real-madrid-2-0-atletico-madrid_sport?start=1

No under 21 player in whole europe is doing better! currently... we have Europe's most effective young striker on our hands :blue scalf:

You could say anyone can have a bad day... But in Torress' case... that's like throwing extra oil on the fire
-
You should really meet him yourself one day. Romelu is one of the nicest guys I've ever met!
