I totally understand what you are saying. It's frustrating to see how we misses out on these big occasions. Is he really unable to do this? Or has it to do with confidence? I reckon at Inter with Conte (that was like a father too him) + also at Anderlecht at very early age with Jacobs (who was also a father figure) he felt at his best => he DID score against these big teams: Milan, Juventus, Napoli, Roma, ... In Belgium Bruges, Genk, Standard + more importantly scored in the very decisive European Games (ask Ajax fans... they will remember) at age 16 or 17. Anderlecht at very early age, Inter last two seasons... I'm sure he can do it! He just needs love and confidence. If you don't want, or cannot give him this... You shouldn't spend €115m euros on him unless you're foolish or have a s***load of money and simply don't care. So we should give him all the confidence... or just let him go. But then probably exactly the same will happen as what United suffered... He goes to another team (that understand his needs) and he delivers!

I wouldn't say he's an elite striker. But he's undoubtedly one of the best strikers in Europe at the moment. I really don't understand why people find it so hard to read or understand Lukaku. His professional carreer lifted up as a rocket at Anderlecht. Banging goals in at the age of 16 at Belgians elite club (then). When signing at Chelsea two years later, he really lived his boyhood dream. Because otherwise that have been shouted out the last few days on this forum, he really is a Chelsea fan from very young age! His steep way up was stopped at the bridge in his first 12 months at the club ... Which was normal seeing that the likes of Drogba, Anelka, Torres etc. were all fighting for the striker position. But Lukaku is a sensitive boy... he really needs confidence to shine. So when doing great at West Brom and later on also at Everton... confidence level went up again. Bare in mind that he left this league at only they age of 26(!) to go to Italy as the #20 on the ALL TIME EPL top goal scorer list. But ironically all that people could do was to moan about his donkey first touch and said he's a crappy striker for United. He moved to Italy and got surrounded by a lot of love and people that gave confidence to him again => no surprise that he deliverd again. Scoring 58 goals in 91 games a bringing in the title for Inter after 10 years of dominance by Juventus. In the mean time he also got his tally up at the Belgium National team... He became Belgian's ALL time TOP Scorer at the age of 25(!!) and now has netted 68 goals which sets him just behind Ronaldo, Messi, Pélé, Lewandoski, Klose => all legends of the game. But he gets banter and a lot of complains because he can be clumsy on the pitch sometimes. Inter got into financial troubles. I'm pretty sure that Lukaku didn't want to leave this warm bath he got into... + the italian lifestyle which is great! But he could help the club + got the option to go back to his former club AND the club of his heart, to prove everyone wrong. He surely started of well... but quickly discovers he surely couldn't be the managers choice. The system that is been played... Lukaku barely sees a ball. He literally runs his a** off all the time seeing the ball going from left to right but almost never diagonally towards him! It must be very frustrating! In the interview with Sky Italia he was on boiling level with his frustrations and emotions took over. Really stupid thing to do as a professional! But VERY understandable from a human point of view. He was again on the bench and not being used at his full strength. If he had stayed in the EPL and he banged those 47 serie a goals in the EPL he would be the current #8 place all time EPL Top scorers (hypothetically, I know... but not unrealistic). And still he doesn't get credit for it in the UK (not an elite striker, donkey first touch, awful clumsy player, ...) . While the guys in front of him Kane, Henry, Lampard, Aguëro, Cole, Rooney & Shearer are all seen as football heroes! Take a minute to think about and reflect in on yourself. How frustrated and especially unfair would it get you :)? Scoring goals is still the essence of the game... there is no price for beauty! So this guy is an excellent goal scorer! He needs to be given some credit, love and you surely can expect it will boost his confidence and he will deliver a s***load of goals in the future!!

This guy left the EPL at age 26(!) as the #20 on the EPL ALL TIME Top Scorers list. Pretty unsuccessful indeed 😛.

Buying ZAHA for £80 million with Batsman on the bench would be 'the final shot' for me as it comes to trust in our board/management. Zaha has 2 goals & 2 assists in 1375 minutes this season. Michy has 1 goal & 2 assists in 96(!!!!!) minutes => 10 games, coming from the bench 10 times with only 4 games where he got more than 10 minutes. On top of that he's 1 year older than Michy ! If they push through on him, this would the XXX th time that I'm totally mindblown on how the club's transfer policy works ... I'm out

We of all people know best that Eden doesn't like pre season friendlies right. I expect that he will explode once competition starts (that is on the pitch, not out of his shorts :)!

I think it is a nice way to end Eden's passage by showing a video of him when he was only 10 years old! His youth team (Braine) got in the 1/4 finals of the belgian Youth cup. Starting at 00:26 seconds, interviewer asks him if he's feeling allright: "a little bit stressed. But I feel good about myself!". "What would you think the result will be" => EDEN on a very cute and typical Eden way "we will lose! OH no wait, we're are gonna wait. But I don't know how much"! After the game, which they lost 6-0 (their first loss of the season) Eden gets back in front of the camera at 02:12. "was it impossible to beat them today?" => Eden: "they were too strong for us". Interviewer: "what did they had more then you". Eden: "pace and technique". Interviewer: "you don't feel bad at all don't you? Eden: No because I know I will win 7 prices at Chelsea in a few years time" :)!! BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: don't tell the madridistas . This is a clear proof that Eden WAS a blue, IS a blue and will always REMAIN a blue in his heart!! KTBFHH Eden! Best of luck in Madrid!!

I would take him back next season! Surely will be more productive than Giroud & Higuain if given same amount of time!

7 years ago this funny little Belgian guy arrived at the bridge. Amazingly talented, one of football best dribblers in the world. Already in his first game he made an impact with his signature spin move followed by an inch perfect assist to Ivanovic, a few minutes later proved himself too quick for Wigan's defence => penalty. Little did we knew then that this little boy, who breaths football joy, would be one of the most composed penalty takers the football world has ever seen! The fact that his last ball touch at the Bridge was a vital spot kick to send us to the EL Final is a great way to end: things have come full circle! Eden's 7 years: it's been great to have you at the Bridge. It's been great to witness your magic dribbling, passing and shooting skills the past 7 years. It's a semi miracle that a player of his quality was loyal to the club for so many years! And maybe most importantly: he got 4.761.991 tackles and NEVER ever saw him complaining! A top player, a top personality, a Chelsea Legend! Wish you all the best in your future career and remember where home is: KTBFHH!!!

Pretty sure he will do great for Crystal Palace. But he will have to prove himself in the EPL for sure! In Belgium at Standard, in French League at Marseille & in the Bundesliga at Dortmund... he has been awesome and sheer quality! Also with the Belgium National team he's sort of a super sub who always scores when given minutes! Some of the fans even would like him to start ahead of Lukaku. Just to show how much we believe in his quality. It just didn't work for Chelsea & Valencia. But I expect that the Valencia failure has more to do with personal issues (between him & coach, teammates, ....). Wait and see. But I'm already afraid it will be another Lukaku, Salah, KDB story. With the only up side that we can still take him back after this season! For €6,5m he's also a bargain in the Fantasy Premier League :)! Would certainly recommend him there to anyone who still needs a decent & cheap striker!

Calling our world class player a cunt if he would stay at the club ???!!!!!! Mind blowing, really mind blowing!!! I don't think you understand how rare it is in this modern football era for a player of his quality to stay loyal to a club (already 7!!!!!! seasons now). The only other one I can think of is Messi. But the list of other is endless... starting with Ronaldo! Damn right he should leave by the way! He's been carrying the team for many years now without quality input to help him! At the age of 25 he already surpassed Drogba, Scholes, Adebayor, Van Nisterlooy, Bergkamp, Solskjaer, Berbatov, Tevez, Cantona, etc... Surely he shouldn't be on that list . I wouldn't underestimate how many half correct or false quotes are going around... Almost every month someone somewhere posts a comment of Eden himself concerning this topic! Journalists NEED to get news... also if there is none. I think it's fair to think Eden enjoys his stay at Chelsea => already 6 seasons, which is a LOT as a star player in this football money era! But of course he wouldn't also mind of trying a new club on a higher level. His boyhood dream. Why would it be so strange he's ok with BOTH options?

What Tibo did by not showing up at the club is really NOT ok! But I'm wondering what the **** is going on in our boardroom. They actually knew Tibo's mind was already in Spain before summer even started. He clearly mentioned he wanted to go back to his kids. How the hell can you let a situation go so out of hand... When I then see they buy KEPA for €80 million, breaking the transfer record for a GK. You should think: they were really after this KEPA guy already for a long time, what a surprise when all the rest is thinking of Allison or Oblak... but no, our board is very clever. Or aren't they?!! Because Kepa was available for €20 million just a few months ago, before signing a new deal (and a €80 million release clausule). And then you start thinking: do we really have these ***** stupid morons leading our club in sort of panic mode? I cannot else but say I really start to believe that! He'll be ok with (super) sub status. But I don't know. Dortmund gave him confidence from 1st minute => he delivered! I don't see why he couldn't do that for us. He has the qualities! But need confidence and playtime. Could be a wise choice to loan him out to other EPL team.

On the up side... creating 4 goal opportunities in 15 minutes! He knows better than anyone else he could have scored more! He's a young striker with a lot of potential. Not everybody is a finished end product! Especially not on age 24!

Exactly my point... he doesn't need to play as a 'wide' 10 and certainly not a second striker. He needs to be given freedom behind the striker in a central position. And his position at Chelsea has almost always been leftwing FW.
