  1. Even Zakharyan seems a bit of a pointless move unless he was going to be loaned out/signed for the multi club model. The others ie Nkunku, Felix and Szoboszlai are definitely more capable at this moment in time. Again though begs the question, what are the club looking to prioritise this summer? Positions we already have multiple players in and neglecting areas we urgently need more options ie. Long term Kante successor and a CF? Perhaps but would of said Szoboszlai is definitely more of a 10 than someone who plays out wide. But hes played both positions for Leipzig this season although again, is his signing particularly a high priority?
  2. Thomas Frank is interesting but I feel he’s just too much like Potter in terms of his experience. Maybe another who would be out of his depth but has shown great variety in terms of how Brentford play. Ruben Amorim - promising career at Sporting but is it too soon? Should he not make another step before going for an elite club? In terms of maybe go to a Sevilla, a Dortmund, a Leipzig, a Villarreal or somebody and continue building his reputation. He gives me Villas-Boas vibes a bit. Plus I am sure he has a €20m release clause so would be another expensive one if it were to go wrong but has a track record with young players at Sporting.
  3. I disagree because the players we are being linked with despite having what would appear as being good solutions there already/more pressing concerns in the team are players who would play for us/bigger teams - like Szoboszlai, Gvardiol, Nkunku. Easily. In my eyes, it just seems like he’s wanting to recruit as many top young players as he can buy without actually thinking: 1) a lot of them are of a similar age and will need to play fairly regularly to continue developing at the speed they have at these other clubs. 2) its going to be a personnel nightmare for any manager as most tend to consistently use say 14/15 players on a regular basis throughout a season. I mean are guys like Colwill & Badiashile going to be happy if we signed Gvardiol? A player who is of the same age group, same profile, same position? Theres also been rumblings about academy players doubting their first team chances because of the signings we’ve made already. As if it wasn’t an issue before also. 3) and a lot of them play in areas where we have already signed/got good young players coming through in so seems like there isn’t an actual plan on how these players will progress in the long term. Or that we have just wasted time signing other players before getting our plan in place to start with.
  4. “Performances haven’t been as bad as results” speechless Also Luis Enrique - no thanks. Piss piss poor transfer record at both Roma and Barca as well as mediocre career outside of 2 years at Barca with a frontline that spanked about 350 goals between 3 players. Spain one of the most boring international sides in recent times in both spells with him.
  5. Another attacking midfielder? What the actual fuck is the clubs transfer strategy honestly 😂 Are they forgetting Nkunku’s already coming? I mean really the only way I could see it coming is if Mount is 100% gone and Felix isn’t going to happen either.
  6. So another young left sided defender? What about Colwill or is he one of the homegrown youngsters Boehly is willing to sacrifice for FFP? Seems pointless to sign more left footed central defenders no matter how good he could be as Badiashile and Colwill certainly will be more than good enough and young enough to be 2 left sided centre back options for next 10+ years. Feels like spending anything close to what Gvardiol will go for would be taking away funds from areas of the team that are more lacking ie. CM and CF. Even a more experienced right sided central defender would be more a astute buy for replacing/when Silva retires too if we were to look for any central defenders (no idea what will happen with Koulibaly wouldn't be surprised if a move to Italy was mooted this summer although he’s improving slightly). But Boehly & co are gonna do what Boehly & co do I suppose and just try sign as many of the best youngsters without figuring how their all gonna play or develop long term - leaving the manager with a lot of problems. I would of thought somebody in the age bracket 23-27 who is a right sided central defender would be more a priority with KK and Thiago’s age and Chalobah still only good enough for a squad role?
  7. Letting Kovacic go in any shape or form would be a mistake in a department where we are clearly short of quality and also numbers after selling Jorginho to the point RLC still playing. Alvarez would be a good buy though but I’d imagine he will have options, particularly from clubs playing in European competition next season. Also theres rumours that due to Barca & Real interest in him, he was offered and will sign a new deal at City until 2028 as he is “very happy” there. So make of it what you will.
  8. Would be the same as the Vini, Rodrygo and Endrick deals though that Madrid done for instance. Signed at 16 but cannot join up with the club to he’s 18.
  9. Intrigued to know what Boehly said to Jordan about sacking Tuchel, or if its Simon Jordan just being Simon Jordan and saying he would do the same. The shared vision comments Boehly made earlier in the season were very vague and doesn’t entirely paint an accurate picture. I mean we know there was a difference of opinions on transfers but surely not that badly? There had to be much more issues underlying because you wouldn’t expect anybody who is competent to ditch such an elite coach for Graham Potter on small disagreements. It would be interesting to know what it was exactly because it clears everything up.
  10. When was the last time he kicked a ball for us? I doubt the club would offer him such a deal if they had any doubts about his recovery. Genuinely excited to see him back in the team first and foremost because he is still our best player by a country mile. And he is someone who‘s skillset we urgently lack, a player who wins the ball back.
  11. 😂😂😂 I do wonder if it was a fellow Chelsea fan who wrote this… but yeah Mendes and Hakimi going nowhere for certain. And even Donnarumma. Neymar less likely but too late now. Another transfer list with not one CF on it though….
  12. A heroes welcome? He went to United and Spurs after us. I doubt it. He’s well and truly burnt his bridges I think with a certain percentage of the fanbase and even the English media were even more annoyed by him and his antics in pressers etc. I mean he can still talk the talk but cant walk the walk. Although stranger things have happened. I get Potter is shite and hilariously out of his depth but Mourinho would be a sideways move more than a step forward and if the football at Roma is anything to go by couldn’t see him lasting too long here either, 31 goals for and 21 against (although ours is still worse).
  13. If he doesn’t win at Leeds then Boehly has no excuse to not sack him. If he’s still here after that and we don’t win then my bet is Boehly has no real intentions of us competing against the top teams in the next 2-3 seasons as long as we ‘get it right long term’ which is ridiculous after spending £600m in not even a full season. I mean after sacking Tuchel 7/8 games into the season after the strenuous and uncertainty that was around the club that previous season, the 443 nonsense, the all star league game, the constant links to every player who existed, these things were testing a lot of peoples patience but now he's really just taking the piss backing this manager who is hilariously out of his depth. Can give him all the young players in the world or all the infrastructure but I really don’t think we’ve been this bad as a side for years. And that includes the Hiddink second spell season after winning the league. Or the Conte throwing the towel in because he wasn't happy a season after winning the league. There is clearly no spine in any of the coaching staff all the way through the players. And there are still a good number of players here who showed a lot more fight and personality under Tuchel so go figure why that is. Once Potter goes things will get better - almost instantly, I guarantee it. Even Lampard had a much better stab at it here and he was out of his depth.
  14. He wouldn't make the mistake of hiring him in the first place. For me Villas-Boas was different because he had won trophies at Porto. Potter has won nothing of note. Maybe a few Swede titles in lower divisions thats about it.
  15. Not impressed with anybody. Also struggling to see where we seen the valuations for the signings of Mudryk and Fernandez, because frankly, both look bang average and no better than what we had in any of those positions previously. Only cost a cool 200m between them too. Its probably going to take a new manager though because it doesn’t matter who plays they all look shite. So there is that. It is mental its 2023 and Loftus-Cheek still making our first 11. That alone should be sufficient evidence that Potter has no fucking clue.
  16. Don’t think Boehly & co understand that they all look like fools for backing this guy as long as they have/are willing to. Can’t be serious about this season or next if they want to give Potter time. Like at all. Maybe he will get it right by 2030…..
  17. I must admit, I am so exited to see Pulisic play for 45 minutes before sitting on the bench/in the stands again to the end of the season. Where he belongs.
  18. Think he's said that the players said pre-season at the beginning of the season was worst they’ve ever had. Never went into specifics but the tour was in the US and organisationally didn't work. I doubt he is but on the odd chance he may be, I really hope he’s not trying to take any shots at Tuchel whose Chelsea record this season is probably almost the same as his despite being sacked in September. Because he’s just setting himself up for even mote criticism.
  19. Would say there is more pressing concerns. But lets further mollycoddle these soft, spineless, half arsing (or certainly look it from their general performances and personality they’ve shown over the last 8-10 months), multi millionaires who already live a highly privileged and comfortable life with a chill out room for when they play shite. Because well, why not? I am actually done with Boehly. He seems to be completely clueless in all regards. It seems he wants to look at everything bar the actual problem. He can put everything and more in place but his refusal to act on the current manager is incredible. Then shit like this seems more and more tin pot, needless shite that has will do nothing - lets get them a Dunkin Donuts at Cobham whilst we are at it? Or a Starbucks? Or have Red Hot Chilli Peppers play there every second week? Fucking clueless.
  20. what the fuck has this got to do with Graham Potter in any way shape or form 😂
  21. Yep this is being heavily implicated as the main issue and has been for a while, the Athletic have been on about it a few times. I don’t think wages will be a big issue at all once the length of deal is in the ball park of what he’s looking for. He doesn’t strike me as someone who wants to be the highest paid player but just wants a fair wage that reflects his position at the club. In fact the only thing I’ve seen re wages is he wants a higher base salary meaning less incentives/add ons so more money upfront but it didn’t specify a sum specifically. I doubt he’s asking for 250-300k straight up like many hinting at but as I said in a previous post people will use this situation as a stick to beat him. I think if the offer was say around 175k base plus whatever add ons/incentives on a 4 or 5 year deal it would of been signed by now.
  22. But would it not be pointless overloading one position with potentially 4 players if Mount stays and if we look to sign Felix which has been heavily hinted no? And I don’t know what the formality is with the Nkunku deal but it is “agreed” and would imagine that it is still on. For that reason alone, I was skeptical of us signing Felix but it wouldn’t surprise me now, it just seems like it will happen. There are a lot of young and inexpensive players right now but we aren’t going to be able to sign them all. I just don’t see where he fits in the next 2, 3 or 4 seasons with Nkunku coming in, Mount potentially (would still say 75% chance) still being here and I don’t think we can discount Felix ending up here either now with all the noise re him. And with the kid being 19 he has to also think about that. If we don’t keep Mount or sign Felix then maybe but I have a feeling both will be Chelsea players next season. And if the logic is just sign him because well why let anyone else sign him, then I don’t know just daft. There is no viable logic on unnecessarily stockpiling young players right now particularly as we have just went and signed maybe 7 players under the age of 22. Have no multi club model in place. Have limitations on loan players coming up in the next 1 or 2 years.
  23. Honestly until the clubs multi club model is in place or unless he’s being loaned somewhere to keep playing for 12-18 months, I think this signing, at least in the short term next 1-2 seasons, would be very stupid and just stockpiling for the sake of it. I get there is talk around Mount being sold in the summer but we also have to consider the fact that Nkunku is signing and then, if Mount goes, I’d imagine Felix on a permanent would be a much much bigger priority as he’s already here, already accustomed to the manager and his teammates etc. Zakharayan would merely be a squad player and thats without considering if Mount stays also which is also still not to be ruled out. I actually have a feeling Felix will be signed regardless in all honesty. Also god no re Joachim Low as manager here. Yes he had a good 10 year period between 2006-2016 but the after his Germany teams were so average, despite still having a pretty good collection of players to pick from IMO. Plus imagine going to the Bridge to see this bloke scratching his nuts then sniffing his hand afterward on a regular basis? No thanks 😂
  24. I think he’s waiting to see if his performances are going to justify such wages but that requires a huge improvement from Mason (although I don’t think anybody this season or even 4 months of last was particularly that good to just point the finger at one player). I still think he will resign but not sure for how much. There are people claiming he’s asking for anywhere between 250-300k a week but I also have doubts Boehly would be handing out these deals at a flat rate to anybody (cant find a figure for Reece’s new contract although was signed ages ago - IIRC around 250k a week but is that basic or add ons/incentives to be taken into it also?) based on the fact of how he’s structured these longer term deals with the new signings ie. more performance based add ons and incentives as opposed to the “premium Abramovich contracts” we keep hearing about in the media.
  25. Might as well sell Colwill then. Unless Boehly wants us to play 5-3-3 with an extra CB 😂 I mean we cannot sign everyone under the age of 21 who is particularly good because we already have about 13 players for each position now. Sales of higher profile players such as Lukaku, Ziyech, Pulisic should be the priority this summer (although we all know the first priority should be a new manager) before we even look at buying another 12 footballers.
