  1. Yeah not happening now is it… I would be very surprised if we seal a deal for the summer too. Probably one of the most protracted transfer sagas I’ve ever seen on here 🤣
  2. “Still in the fight” ffs these journalists get worse and worse - we are the only team negotiating for him, not as if somebody else has muscled in on our deal 🤣
  3. Why not? You can’t be convinced that Andrey Santos is going to be the answer to replace Jorginho. Also again Sky still reporting were offering 105m over 6 instalments in 5 years whilst Benfica want 3 in 2 years. Yet we’ve arranged to give the guy a medical despite being miles apart in structure still. Amateur hour is back.
  4. Sky reporting still struggling to agree terms with Benfica over structure. Again.
  5. Wwell if we dont get Enzo after selling Jorginho we will look ridiculously stupid.
  6. This still has a smell of going wrong. Hopefully not but not very confident ATM, seems as if we’ve gotten them where we want them only to realise we cant pay it/have to rethink ways of paying it. If we keep dicking about with alternative ways then they might change their minds completely.
  7. Yeah gonna just say it. This isn’t happening, is it 🤣?
  8. 🤣🤣🤣 either that or amateur hour is back
  9. Apparently organising a medical for Enzo. But haven’t got a deal in place. Hmmm
  10. They’ve been in Lisbon for about 36 hrs now, the private jets done 127 trips and the deals been done 9 times. It honestly seems like its just rinse and repeat of the same reports every 3 or 4 hrs 😂 I think its going to be a bad night. Just need Harry Redknapp to appear hanging out his range rover window saying terrific and deadline day bingo is complete
  11. Hold the bus, might need to keep him yet if theres no deal for Fernandez…
  12. Will be a meltdown on here if it doesn’t happen for whatever reason and somebody else goes and signs Enzo in the summer 😂 I think this transfer this month has been built up as its now or never (as in January only) and I would totally agree that it’s that sense. We 100% won’t get a clean run at him in the summer and will be outside the CL spots undoubtedly so I don’t think he will move here come the summer. We better hope there is a plan B, and has Jorginho officially moved to Arsenal or not?
  13. It is arrogant. Benfica have actually got huge footballing history and have been key in the development of some hugely talented footballers and managers careers. Not just a piddly wee club. I mean saying “nothing more than a feeder club for the elite around Europe” do you not see how arrogant that sounds 🤣? I mean we are sitting 10th in the PL FFS not as if we are exactly a shining beacon of an elite level football club at present, are we? I get there is frustration around how they are sticking to their guns but belittling a club like Benfica is odd. Fully agree. I get its tense in here with the Fernandez saga but don’t think the Benfica fan started it. It seems as if the deals been in a state of animation for hours now. It went from it was basically done to it was now close. Now its perceived not to be close. Hardly as if its the guys fault is it 😂 but I suppose any excuse to vent off frustrations…. Pretty sure one of our members belittled his club first.
  14. Now that is an extremely arrogant comment. Lets get this straight, currently, we are sitting 10th lol. Natural order of things or not, Benfica well within their right and if the shoe were on other foot we’d be praising our board for their stance.
  15. Its not just that though is it? Its always been the structure of the deal. If we put the full sum there it would remove all doubts and mean its legally binding that they have to accept it. It is as much Boehly & co in the limelight as it is Rui Costa I feel. It was always going to be complicated regardless unless it was done one way: the way Benfica wanted it done ie. full clause but they don’t want to/can’t do that for financial reasoning. Apparently.
  16. Yep Boehly & co have set a precedent, particularly with the Mudryck deal I feel. People saying “why keep the player he wants to go”, “they wont get this money again”, “their making a huge profit if they sell for price X, Y or Z” they don’t realise Benfica is Rui Costa’s first priority, not Enzo Fernandez or not Chelsea. But arrogance is bliss and people think because we’ve offered what we perceive as a good deal they should accept it blindly. As is always the case here and in particular has been with this whole Enzo Fernandez saga 😂
  17. In that case might as well say i may end up dating Dua Lipa. Holds about the same weight as us winning the CL this year 🤣
  18. 🤣 CL medal this season? I hope your joking So the big masterplan is to replace Jorginho with Andrey Santos…. great…. replacing a good technical midfielder with someone who at u20 level looks bang average technically and passes it backwards/sideways under no pressure. If we dont Enzo we are depending on Kovacic remaining fit all season then for a more technical ball playing midfielder.
  19. Would say he looks a lot more direct than Hazard tbf, a lot more. In the Shakhtar v Celtic games Shakhtar used him as an outlet as Celtic are predominantly geared up towards being a possession based team under Postecoglu and he was very very direct. Hazard sometimes for me I think he just loved coming for the ball and trying to take players on too much instead of just running into space and being a bit more direct. Robben maybe a more appropriate comparison or Bale? Although they say the boy we signed from PSV similar to Robben also.
  20. Hardly a Chelsea reject. But whatever floats your boat….. if we weren’t getting Enzo he would of been staying here. I still think might of been wise just to keep him to the summer in case also because Kovacic is always in and out with niggling injuries and if Enzo gets injured/doesn't happen/struggles at first then he would he a safe option to use. Lets hope Enzo comes in and hits the ground running but if he doesn’t hypothetically then who we going to rely on in there? I don’t think anybody can discredit Jorginho’s spell here, he suffered a lot of flak at the beginning, was Sarri’s son, was responsible for Cesc not playing (his legs were gone anyway), not good enough, even half the media and pundits were making him scapegoats etc on top of the other things. Only going on to be made vice captain a year later and leaves having won some big big trophies as well as from what I’ve gathered about how the younger players and former coaches talked about him a very good guy to have in the dressing room. But Chelsea reject ok…
  21. Would say Arsenals system will suit him because they are further along than we are in terms of the style and tactical set up. Plus Zinchenko and Ben White playing as inverted fullbacks will give him greater protection and options in there. Doubtful he will play every game but he will give them enough. Just have to hope Kovacic can stay fit now because he and Enzo are really the only sort of MFers we have capable of controlling a game. Still surprised they didn’t go for an alternative for Caicedo, they need a more defensive minded player to rotate/swap out with Partey I feel now hes injured.
  22. How much is good money though? 10m? 15m? I’ve seen people saying daft figures but dont forget he’s only got 6 months on his deal and on a decent wage. Plus he will have his pick of clubs in the summer so he might not want to move either because it will maybe be more financially beneficial to wait to the summer and get a big sign on fee. Plus his agent said he wanted to renew here so its not a given he would want to go there or anywhere this window. Anyone thinking we will get 25-30m or above for a 31 year old are living in cuckoo land. If anything its likely it would be closer or similar to the deal we got for David Luiz or Petr Cech. Particularly if the impression is we are willing to let him go now or wont renew him so he can leave at the end of the season regardless. I mean its not going to be that profitable to sell Jorginho in all honesty is it?
  23. Personally if Arsenal are struggling for MF depth, we shouldn’t give them any of our players. I mean their top of the league just let them go get someone else at a higher price or get nobody, overplay their boys and fizzle out. Jorginho still has a part to play this season, or so I would think. Even if its not as often but until I see Enzo holding a Chelsea shirt I wouldn’t get too excited about Jorginho leaving yet. And if Enzo Fernandez comes in and doesn’t hit the ground running then again, its a problem to sell Jorginho IMO. If Ruben is fucked off though and Ziyech leaves on loan (which tbf for his profile in the squad is a bit annoying a left footed right sider) then it’ll be good business. Although I would much prefer it was Pulisic, but his injuries have fucked that up for us, we are never gonna get any half decent fee for him because hes never fit.
