  1. Who? Tbh every young striker at Liverpool is apparently the next Michael Owen, even if they are 10 ft 4, slow as fuck and couldn't hit a barn door with a machine gun. So yeah never trust Liverpool fans. One Liverpool fan told me on twitter they were signing Wesley Sneidjer HAHA. Remember we have Feruz btw.
  2. I'd hope he was saying it was the perfect partnership at the moment because saying that in the best partnership in the long term is daft because next we know it will be 2015 and Lamps will be 55 or whatever, even though I think Luiz and Mikel would be better in the pivot with Luiz venturing forward more.
  3. Hate to sound arrogant and like I think I know it all but I think hes wrong because both players like to push up more than stay back and protect the back 4 which they both can't do in the double pivot so its not the perfect midfield partnership. Lampards not really a deep lying playmaker or a defensive midfielder and David Luiz isn't a playmaker, he is capable of being a defensive midfielder but still how is that the perfect partnership? Its Ramires - Mikel all over again. One player suits the pivot where as the other one not so much. Sure Lampard can play a few accurate long passes but hes not noted for being a playmaker in the same way Pirlo or Alonso is, is he? Luiz has all the characteristics to be a decent DM but his positional and tactical awareness is pathetic, he still dives in to foolish challenges that if he just reads the situation he doesn't pick up a booking/give away a foul. He still does unnecessary things as well when he needs to keep it simple and eventually we will get punished for it. To say after 1 or 2 games we have found the perfect MF partnership with Luiz and Lamps is very stupid on Pat Nevins part, hes a football man, he should know that you shouldn't judge 2 players playing together on one game. He should also realize we played Aston Villa, who were always likely to struggle against us. Anyway in my opinion a perfect partnership in the pivot is like Busquets - Alonso for Spain. Busquets breaks up play keeps it simple (like Mikel) where as Alonso is a regista and can play big 50-60 yard passes to split defenses/help his team exploit spaces in wide areas. Another similar partnership is like Andrea Pirlo, Daniele De Rossi and Claudio Marchisio for Italy, not exactly a double pivot but you know, they compliment each other very well. Pirlo (playmaker), De Rossi (defensive midfielder), Marchisio (box to box MF player).
  4. Pmsl Anyway I've said before he is perfect for our system. Why is he perfect for our system? - He has the strength hold the ball up and out muscle defenders. - Aerial threat from set pieces and could be useful defending them too. - He has good enough dribbling technique, yeah he ain't exactly Cristano Ronaldo but he can get by some one and get a shot off or whatever. - He also is a great finisher with his head or feet and can score from 30 yards or 2 yards. - He has good enough link up play as was shown last season and this season, combining with more nimble players Aguero/Tevez/Silva/Nasri etc. - Good composure in front of goal. - Decent goal return for City, great record at Wolfsburg and record goalscorer for the Bosnian NT. Scored goals everywhere hes been. - Hes not Usain Bolt but hes fast enough to get onto through balls when put through to goal. - Able to pick out his team mates when they are in better positions. - Good technically compared to the traditional target man. Hes a real complete striker, don't buy into all this shit that he wouldn't be good enough for us because he would. Fact. *Rafa Benitez voice*
  5. Exactly. JT was nominated for the FIFA XI for like 8 years running because he was an absolute beast of a CB, Gaz won't be because hes nothing more than a reliable squad player, like it or not. That comparisons are stupid to make. Just because they are both English and play CB for Chelsea doesn't mean that should be classed as in the same league as JT so to speak.
  6. He'll be ready when hes 20 if he has success loan spells like the Watford one. I bet my house on that.
  7. Said before we signed him he was overrated, was proved wrong a bit as hes actually a decent center half but still nothing more than a decent center half though.
  8. He will be the new Kalou. Come on for 30 minutes, get in behind tired defenders and score goals. Will be a brilliant buy if hes used for that. We will get another striker though, he won't be the main striker we sign in January.
  9. Lewandowski isn't available until the summer though. Same with United wanting Kagawa last year in January, Dortmund told them to wait until the summer and then it happened. We need a CF in January more than anything, especially since Torres is still terrible.
  10. Lets build the new stadium on Tracey Island from Thunderbirds........ Honestly I don't mind where, we need a bigger stadium to bring in more revenue. As long as its in London and accessible I don't mind. Pity we can't increase the capacity of the Bridge
  11. Trapattoni is nuts.. the friendly kind of nuts but nuts...
  12. McCarthy and Bannan would have been a dream midfield partnership for Scotland but you Irish stole him
  13. They have a few players I like, in particular Barry Bannan but hes probably not Chelsea material.
  14. When Villa go down we can sign him on the cheap
  15. If hes avaliable then heres my verdict: sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign sign
  16. Hes played in MF for Spain, he played there for 30 mins vs Scotland and looked immense. Played there a few other times as well. He could play as a #10, hes a complete player and has all the attributes; creative, good passing and vision.
  17. De Bruyne is not more ready than Lewis Holtby, Holtby is 24 and has much more experience having been a regular in the Bundesliga for 4 or 5 years now. If hes available for 6-8 million get him, could be a bargain. He was great at Mainz, he played as a #10 / winger there though but this was 2 or 3 years ago. Hes a much more all round player now by the looks of it now, playing as a CM for Schalke. Maybe sign him on a pre-contract agreement in fact?
  18. Get Moses and Hazard to run at Baines and Neville/Coleman, just keep pinning their wingers and fullbacks back. Should win I think even though Everton are a good team but stopping Baines adventuring forward will restrict a great deal of their attack imo. Hes a key player for them, no doubt about it, his link up with Pienaar is good but if Moses can keep him defending rather than attacking it will give us a greater chance of winning. Osman in the middle will be dangerous too but if we restrict Everton playing through the wings with Baines and Pienaar especially it will be a big plus.
  19. Villa can play numerous positions, in midfield, on the wings, as a number 10 or as the striker. Falcao isn't bound to play every game as well, hes had injury problems in the past. Villa for 12-15 million would be a steal. Hes still a 30 million player in my eyes. He single handily fired Spain to the WC final in 2010 which isn't that long ago. Hes more than capable of performing at that level still. Having him, Torres and Falcao or whoever else we go for the summer will be brilliant. Don't get why people see signing him then Falcao in the summer as such a pointless thing. Villa is also a more realistic target than Falcao, I see it more likely to happen than Falcao. Price tags shouldn't assume if someone plays or not, look at City. Dzeko cost 27 million rots on the bench most weeks, Aguero cost 38 million has been on the bench this season, Tevez cost 25 million or something the same with him, Balotelli 21 million same with him etc etc. Also going to throw this out there, David Villa > Falcao.
  20. I will at some point today. Going to try get FM on though and tan every team because I is the best FM manager around
  21. Meh doubt we'll sign him, thank god, average at best.
  22. Wait steam? I thought it was called "stream", my FM runs on it..... jesus..
  23. I'd take Villa in a permanent deal. Imagine then if we signed Falcao the following summer; Torres (sadly still at the club because Rom loves him), Villa and then Falcao. One hell of a strike force. All this shit about his leg is crazy, people are wanting to sign Demba Ba over this guy but one bad injury to Demba's knee and hes possibly looking at a career change......... but yeah sign him anyway over David Villa who is the Spanish national team record goalscorer who is also better. Just because he broke his leg it means nothing... hes played for Barca this season and has scored a goal nearly every game or he had at some point. Guy still oozes class, I'd have him over most strikers we are linked with right now. Villa's game has never been about pace, its been about movement and being clinical, I'd sign him easily he'd last at least 3 years here.
