I read a few pages back and want to add my two cents to this Luiz > Mikel shit that is being posted. Ok Luiz was good in a few games - against smaller teams right enough - but still how does that justify that hes better than Mikel? Hes an alternative option there until Romeu is back fit and Mikel is back from the ACON. Luiz is still reckless, makes ridiculous challenges on players. This was evident as a center half, still is as a defensive midfielder. He has great distribution, not as accurate as Mikels but you could say he goes for the 'spectacular' pass every now and then risking possession rather than Mikel who always prefers to play a simpler pass that doesn't risk possession. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Luiz in my opinion also doesn't demonstrate a calm figure on the pitch, hes his own worst enemy 9/10 times, in games last season and sometimes this season he has lost the plot, lost his head when he shouldn't and we have payed for it or nearly have. Mikel is much more calmer on the ball it has to be said, hes not afraid to get the ball in sticky situations where hes got a marker tight on him, always there as an option, always moving to get the ball. Yes hes not always as forward thinking as Luiz but hes a steady passer who is capable of that killer pass when needed, also concedes possession less than Luiz. This has been more evident this year, for sure, also last year. Actually I seen him today or yesterday play an awesome through ball for a goal for Nigeria. Can't remember who it was who scored but it was a nice pass. You can say Mikel vs Juve cost us our place the in the CL bla bla bla bla bla but imo you have to look at JT and think 'What are you doing there mate?', trying to play offside when the guy has just recieved the ball, I also feel Cech didn't cover himself in glory tbh, he read the situation wrong and thought Quageralla (fuck the guys name honestly, unsure how to spell it) was going to just leather it so he kinda threw himself at it but still its more JT and the teams fault more than anything. When we are being pressed who would you rather have the ball, Mikel or Luiz? I know vs Swansea Luiz wasn't great on the ball when pressed, Mikels presence and calmness was desperately missed. In that 1-1 game at the Liberty Stadium I thought Mikel was the best player on the pitch for us, whenever he had the ball, there was 2 Swansea players coming towards him but he kept it really well, I don't think Luiz would have done the same, hes very risky with the ball, games vs Napoli and a whole load under AVB last year is evidence. Can't say hes really changed much since then, still charges forward, still plays some risky passes. His reading of the game is poor sometimes, hes rash just dives in when its unnessecary and concedes a foul/leaves space for opposition players. Mikel is a much better reader of the game. Still Luiz takes a mean freekick, I'll give him that. Hes a good passer when he doesn't overcomplicate things (like the risky passes he fizzes into players) and go for those 50 m passes to Floppes which should result in a booking for timewasting because Torres is just jobby. If Luiz can iron out certain things, be a bit calmer in the game, use his head more and not overreact, stop being as rash with tackles, read the game better, have better positioning at certain moments etc, he will be a top CB. Hes a good CB right now but that inconsistancy and issues that can sometimes be his problem are holding him back. Hes improved a lot physically, he looks a bit bulkier since he joined the club which credit due to him has helped him more in my opinion. Hes good in the air as well and fast on the turn so he has all the required tools to be a top CB. Still needs to mature a bit, maybe when hes in his prime years we might see this top CB that I believe he can come.

Zaha has all the right attributes to be a good player and the desire it seems. So any top manager would hopefully be able to mould him into a top player but surely Fergie would be best for it.

This is the same guy who said he'd pay 'many more millions' on Joe Allen.... who cost him 15 FUCKING MILLION..... fucking idiot he is. Bets if anyone elses player gets sent off they'd be raging, no doubt. Hazard will now be seen as public enemy number one for some wee cunt jumping on a ball thinking hes going to be 'famous' then gets kicked apparently and starts crying hahahahhaa, wee gimp.
-
Exactly we couldn't even get rid of him to WEST FUCKING HAM who signed Joe 'shit since 2010' Cole
-
I would of fancied us to try and sign Wilfred Zaha. Hes got good potential obviously, typical African forward player very pacey and strong despite having a large but skinny-ish frame. Still very raw but hes he looks to be quite talented. Can play left wing, right wing or through the middle and would be a bit more refreshing compared to Hazard, Marin and Mata trying to pass themselves through teams rather than look to beat players. Similar to Victor Moses, not as far on in his developement but still a good young player. Obviously Moses seems to have better technical qualities and better decision making but I wouldn't say Zaha is really much worse. £10 Million upfront with another £5 million on apperances could be very good for United if he plays well in the PL. Obviously Moses so far was cheaper and has performd in the PL but until we see Zaha in the PL it will be very hard to compare them.

The way I see this, we loan him to a PL team maybe Everton or Fulham 2013-14 season maybe then take him back season 2014-15. If we don't then he will go, no doubt about it. Hes an absolute giant of a keeper, how will he struggle with the roughness of the PL, hes what 6 ft 5? Absolute animal, handling great, great at collecting crosses etc. Shot stopping is excellent along with his decision making.
-
Probably not because we are Chelsea FC and we always fail to make good decisions
-
If we have to replace Cech next year to keep Thibaut, then I have to be honest, we need to do it. Courtois is a one in a millon talent by the looks of it. Cech is also a very vey very good goalkeeper but lets be honest, would you rather lose Courtois or lose Cech? Because with Barca sniffing around and them 'being the best team in the world to nearly everyone' if they bid a reasonable offer he will want to go more than likely.....
-
Turnbull Azpi - Ake - Terry - Bertrand Luiz - Ramires Marin - Malouda - Yossi Torres would be nice but I doubt it.
-
Lets be honest, if it was Balotelli the kid would be in hospital as he would of casterated him. In fact hes not even a kid, hes like 17. What a cunt, sitting posting on twitter 'the ballboys back for his final apperance #needed #for #timewasting' or whatever. Gets what he deserves for having his picture of him and his mate holding two tins of strongbow looking fucked after probably taking 2 sips of the stuff.

Watching Derren Brown trick or treat and hes chose some old lady. I've already seen the episode as its old but she picks a treat. Imagine if she had picked a trick, what publicity he would get if he tricked an old women, wow. Like scared the shit out of her like the apocalypse thing..

Last time I remember being in the pub I was posting stuff about beans sausages and chips... come back and now theres a lot of messages about insults etc. Cmon people, keep the peace.... Yeah, a Scotsman asking for some sort of 'peace', surely thats a first
-
Yeah people do shit like that in Scotland. They also put hair removal cream on your pubes and eyebrows. Also I seen a video of some guy cutting up his mates jacket, then he puts it on and doesn't notice lol.
-
Thank god someone with sense.
-
Yes but that doens't make the players more important than the system. A manager is flexible yes but still the system is the most important thing. Yes off topic but haha its nice to mention stuff than this rather than 'Mikel is shit' etc......
-
Formations and tactics these days are the most important things. You can have the 11 best players in the world but if you don't have a system that has balance and allows your team to accomodate all your players so they can attack and defend well, well whats the point?
-
The system is more important than the players. Whats the point in having 11 players on the field if you don't have a good system for them to play under....
-
Aye so I like sausage beans and chips, what you gonna do about it.
-
Oh we met one day in Spain.... Na I follow him on twitter and I've translated a whole load of stuff using google chrome, he seems down to earth, not like some of these retarded footballers who tweet mad shit constantly like Joey Barton. Obviously thats not enough to be 100% sure but I'm sure he isn't like certain idiots. Hes probably got a similar personality to Matas I'd guess.
-
Leroy Fer is a central midfielder, Narsingh is a natural winger I'll give you that and Wijnaldum is a #10 but can operate on wings. Isco won't get careless, hes not like Balotelli, so to suggest that is madness. Hes a down to earth guy, very humble and has a very big future ahead of him. Sure if he moves and doesn't get as many games (would find it ridiculous why would any club buy such a talented player not to play him) John might get ahead of him but I doubt it. Balotelli hasn't even thrown his career away yet, Michael Johnson is the worst case scenario. I'm sure we won't see something like this again though.
-
Gaitan isn't like Mata, Hazard or Oscar. Hes actually a winger, like Moses, direct, pacey, can pick out a cross, can cut inside and score goals too. Mata, Hazard and Oscar are purely #10s. Its hard to say John won't be a starter for Netherlands soon enough, they have one top class winger in Robben so it should be easier for him to get picked. Who else would they play on the wings? Kuyt? Van Persie? Sneidjer? It would be relatively easy for an up and coming winger like John who is a good player who is improving to get games on the wing for Holland as they lack quality out wide. Hes a talent obviously but not in the same sense that Hazard, Isco, Gotze, Pogba and El Sharaawy are. They are going to be massive players in the future, John will be a good player no doubt but not in the same class as them 5. Isco we all know about, quality. Gotze the same, well coveted allover Europe who wouldn't have him? Pogba was great for Uniteds reserves and its no surprise we were considering him last season, hes been unreal for Juve, he scored 2 goals the other day vs Udinese and was class IIRC, has been good most games hes played made right decision to leave United. Hazard we all know as well, obviously, massive talent. El Shaarawy is going to be class too. John won't achieve as much as they will.
-
Hes a promising player, I wouldn't say a top talent yet but if there was one player at Benfica I'd like us to sign it would either be Matic or Gaitan.
