Luke Shaw is still vastly unproven. All this transfer talk is premature, especially for what is it, 16.5 million, or something we are willing to pay? Hes looked good but hes not been the stand out LB this year. Leighton Baines has, hes the only LB I'd pay 16.5 million for in the BPL right now.

Maybe someone needs to come in and do what Guardiola did at Barca, sold Deco, Belleti, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Henry etc or what AVB tried and bleed them out. Courtois, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Piazon, Romeu, Kalas and Omeuro are all good enough for the 25 man squad. Baffled if at least 4 of them aren't in it next year. Even Essien could have been good enough for us this year tbh and even Florent fucking Malouda.......... in fact I will go as far as saying Gael Kakuta could have been useful instead of Marin and Benayoun this year and I don't even rate the kid. Point is we need to get some of these players back (Coutois, Lukaku, De Bruyne, Kalas, Omeuro) I know it may harm some of their development but they would get games. We could then use different systems 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-1-3-2 etc as we would have personnel to try in different systems unlike the 4-2-3-1 which we have to play as we are short on CMs...

Statistically I seen hes made the most interceptions in the PL right now or is it Europe. Some crazy stat like hes made 100 and something interceptions this season. What I've seen, I've liked. In general I've liked how Southampton have approached games this year under both managers they've had. Could be a gamble though but I'd take him as back up to Mikel right now tbh especially since Romeu doesn't look great in the 4-2-3-1. Hes benefiting from playing next to Jack Cork in some games as it gives him a lot more freedom to get forward and get to the box. He'd be an interesting buy for sure but are the board/scouts at this club really going to look at him? Probably not.

Hes not that good, hes been overhyped for years. He has certain qualities but he isn't amazing. Hes also a #10 not a #8 so hes a no no basically. Anyway Eriksen should of moved a year ago to a more competitive league, the Dutch league is a good league to develop talent but it can only take players so far in all honestly especially a kid billed with the talent and ability he is meant to have. I mean look at Suarez, he did well in Holland, scored over 100 goals and eventually moved to Liverpool, if he stayed in Holland he'd be able to play really average and probably still score for fun. He needs to play in a more competitive team and league to push himself to the best of his abilities. I don't think hes as great as he was made out to be a few years ago and I hope we don't get him as we have 4 better AM options; Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne.

Anyway on depression and footballers in general, I don't know if anyone remembers the thread I started about a young Swede who played for Inter Milans youth teams and how he suffered with depression, its more common in sport than you'd think actually, you wouldn't think some athletes could be depressed (well not that they are immune to being depressed but you know what I mean) due to the fact they live an amazing life in regular folks eyes (doing what they have probably always wanted to do, big money etc) but still its a very sensitive matter. I think as years go on clubs should be able to help players deal with it better than what they do now, in fact not just football players I think the help for people suffering from depression will increase due to the fact its seen as a more high profile illness compared to what it was 15-25 years ago.

Buying players is only half the job, you've got to unite them, get them hungry for success and motivate them to make them want to win which by the way we did win the PL in 2004-05 was incredible work by Jose. He took players who were 'good' but not world class and helped turning them into better and some of them world class players. The likes of JT, Lampard, Drogba, Cech, Carvalho, Robben, Joe Cole etc. I really dislike seeing shit about how we shouldn't get Jose because he is a shit manager when he isn't, give any other reason, because hes not a shit coach......... at Porto, at Inter, at Chelsea and even at Madrid he has got his players wanting to run through walls for him, currently hes the best motivator and coach in world football. This year has been bad for him yes but still, he beat 'the best team in the world' to the Liga a season before in a record breaking way. All teams have bad phases, we seem to have a bad phase every fucking year or two but still.
