  1. I think there is genuine interest from Real and mainly Zidane, in Eden so if there was to be a bid deemed acceptable enough, I would imagine he'd go. No disrespect to Conte or Chelsea but Real Madrid, one of the household names in world football and Zidane, Eden's childhood hero, as his manager? Do people think he really would be 100% for staying? Not a chance. It would be the same if it were Barcelona. No clubs bar maybe Bayern and United (probably more of old) in terms of global stature can compete with these two on any level.
  2. I'm sorry but there is no way either Neymar or Dybala will ever sign for Chelsea, Neymar is Messi's heir at Barcelona, if they dont go and sign Dybala that is. Even if you throw all the money in the world at them I doubt they come here. Also I'd have Neymar over Hazard, most definitely, Eden is excellent but Neymar is another level because he has that attitude that Messi and Ronaldo have to want to be that player. If we sell Hazard then Yannick Carrasco would be a good player to buy as a potential replacement, although I'd like Isco because he is very much in that same sort of mold Hazard is I'd say bar not as quick.
  3. If we can sign two wing backs (Semedo&Alex Sandro would be unbelievable), a center back (or recall Christensen), central midfielder, winger and a striker of a good level then I think we will be doing well. But again I don't know because I can imagine Baba Rahman being a good option to play left wing back along with the likes of Baker and Abraham being considered for the next phase in their development here. Who knows but we cant stand still. We need to go and sign 3 or 4 quality players to provide depth and the ability to change games.
  4. Deservedly chosen as captain I thought. Has been nothing but consistent and also he always has improved each year since being here. He is in my eyes the next logical option as captain if Cahill doesn't play next year.
  5. Did we all see his celebrations for the goals when he was on the bench? "Bad apple" "wants to leave Chelsea" yeah about that.....
  6. Not sure if this is serious or not but no I am not John Lennon. That isnt even John Lennon in the picture.
  7. Can't believe people still think De Gea is a lot better than this guy. I have no idea why De Gea is seen as the best or second best keeper in the world because hes not. Hes not even the best in the Premier League.
  8. As long as there is more hunger, desire and commitment than in some of the other games we've played recently I'll be happy because regardless of the result we need a positive performance so these guys can look in the mirror and go "fuck this, we can do better, we can go on to win the title" I have a feeling some of them are probably not as sure as they were 4 weeks ago and I don't think Conte believes as much that we can still do it based on the Man United game and also the interviews after the game.
  9. Our defense was 'impenetrable' party because of the individual and collective performances of the 3 players playing center back but also the system and the fact Kante-Matic give so much infront of it. I don't think that its just David Luiz that has held the defense together like some would suggest, I would hate to imagine the team without Kante-Matic in front of it when we had that big unbeaten run because the work they did in their and the organisation as well was a huge help before teams even got in at the backline. Luiz's performances have been good, fair enough and he deserves to be in the team of the year but I feel the same as I did when we resigned him, we know he can have an absolute nightmare at times, over commit, overplay, lose focus, hes human fair enough and can make mistakes but hes still not much better than he was when we he left for PSG 2 or 3 years ago.
  10. I dont think Torres was disliked. He was just shit. Its not like he was running about saying "Chelsea is shit, London is shit, Abramovich is a wanker and all the managers I've worked with here are cunts" or doing anything to be hated upon by the fans, he was just very poor and that had a lot of people frustrated because we all know what he could do 1 or 2 years before we got him. The only person I'd say that the fans at games made it hugely known that they disliked in the last 4 or 5 years, was Rafa Benitez purely because he is Rafa Benitez, because of all his Liverpool links and clashes with the club in past as well as the fact Di Matteo had won the CL beforehand. I wouldn't say people go to the games like "yeah that Costa is a fucking dickhead isnt he, I dont like him bla bla bla..." and the rest of it. People are frustrated by his performances, I get that, hes probably just as frustrated as anybody right now too but to say hes despised by supporters? Don't make me laugh. I'm still not sure how hes disregarded the club and fans here? This whole China offer is mindboggling, we are talking about a £100 million fee and a £650,000 per week pay packet, the clubs constantly being linked with other strikers like Morata (which is just a rumor although quotes from Morata show the interest was real but again these links are only discussed because of this Chinese clubs huge proposal to buy him) and at the end of the day football is a BUSINESS, players will look at moves to these odd leagues purely for the paypacket to be financially safe for the rest of their lives, to make sure their family have a great life etc. To say hes despised is almost as bad as when the guy/women was at the game with the 3 rats banner solely blaming Cesc, Costa and Hazard for Mourinho's sacking haha. Despite the fact we hadn't won in like fuck knows how many games and were 16th. The Costa I seem to remember at Atletico was the one who was world class and instrumental to their biggest success in recent history, we all knew he had a firey attitude and his performances at times weren't great but he had the balls to toe the line and would go head to head with guys like Ramos, Pepe, Varane, Mascherano etc, which is what we needed first and foremost and also who we wanted to sign. We do this every time we are linked with a player, we eventually get him after giving them all this praise saying they are great, what we need etc, that they may have issues but we can look past them then bang after a year or two years or three years they arent good enough or are bad apples or were never good enough to wear the shirt etc. Its odd but also its easier to look at somebody else and go they have better shoes than I do, or in this case they have better strikes than we do...
  11. End of the day if he wants to go let him go. We've sold big players before and done alright and I imagine it would be the same even for someone like Eden Hazard.
  12. One full season of professional football... playing every week... linked to teams for 110 Million euros. What suckers. I think if he came here he'd be like Batshuayi, stuck on the bench. He should stay in Monaco and develop play another 1 or 2 full seasons at the level he is right now. Then maybe he should look at moving. For all we know he might struggle to maintain the performances hes getting right now.
  13. Was expecting this to happen sooner or later. I think hes been good for us most of the season but last few games hes shown glimpses of the good old lack of concentration hes always had. Its not particularly a major issue for me right now because he along with Azpi have been two of the most consistent center backs in England this year but I think he is the sort of guy who needs to be reminded constantly to be 100% focused. He has a shit tonne of experience though, so really it shouldnt be happening but hey we are all human. Saying that too I don't think hes looked fully fit since Aguero fucked him up either but hes been in the team ever since so I doubt its a major concern that would make Conte take him out indefinitely to rest/recover, especially now we have 6 games to go in the most vital part of the season for us.
  14. 100 million. Haha fuck off. Your having a laugh arent you Koeman?
  15. I'm currently in South Korea and have been told by some locals that Korean women dating anybody who isn't Asian is reportedly frowned upon by older members of the community/family members (which is a load of bullshit I feel) and that some Asian men won't go near them if they have been with anybody who isn't Asian (again I reckon that is bullshit and maybe a little bit of confusion in the language barrier we are having to try and overcome with some of the Koreans but anyway how would you know for sure?). If thats what they reckon then its totally different to anything I've ever seen and one of the most ignorant things I have ever heard. Anyway on to the politics, there is an intense feeling here regarding the North and USA and missiles, some of the guys here I work with are from the States and they very much support Trump but I'm not so sure that going toe to toe with North Korea is a good idea for anybody. But again they shouldn't be able to have the potential to strong arm countries with the possibility that they will fire missiles and nobody wont retaliate. I think if they decide to go toe for toe then its gonna escalate like fuck. An interesting quote from Albert Einstein "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
  16. Football is a squad game. 23-25 players or whatever but how often do you ever need to use more than 18 players a season regularly unless you have massive injuries or constantly get suspensions/injuries. It was obviously an easier and cheaper option than going into the market to sign somebody in January, which is notoriously difficult to buy in. Maybe he will be part of the squad again next year and this last few months he has been learning tactical aspects because he didn't have a pre-season with Chelsea? Its almost more difficult for players who don't get a pre-season at any club. But who knows?
  17. Great lets sell Costa and replace him with either Morata or Lukaku... again... Lukaku is in a hot run of form, but so was Costa at the start of the season. Sometimes I think people forget things. I know who I'd rather have and its not the Belgian.
  18. Hes making up the numbers obviously!! Ivanovic left so we needed another CB/WB player... so we recalled one. If it was a player to be used in the first team regularly do you really think they would of recalled Ake ahead of Christensen?
  19. Are you for real? I've seen JT help players get up before. As well as lots of other footballers helping other opposition players get up.
  20. But also a potential option for depth. I doubt Conte expects anyone to get major injuries but its better to have someone as a back up or to rotate with Alonso/Cahill incase they do. Maybe he overestimated the players level too? I don't know, maybe I'm underestimating his level as well its just a matter of opinion but its clear Ake is thought of highly at club but until I see him doing well in a Chelsea shirt the verdict is still out. Also we sold Ivanovic in January so it was a like for like replacement maybe, both can be a CB or wing back option.
  21. He wasnt the same guy he was in the previous matches against United in the league. He seemed timid on the touchline, not as many outbursts of punching/shouting/jumping about constantly. It looked to me as if he seemed intimidated almost, what the hell was up? I honestly feel he has been the driving force behind our performances this season because hes channeling all his passion and aggression and everything into the team, almost yelling every instruction at them, constantly keeping everyone in line and making sure that they are following his game plan along with his tactical switch up. Sure Hazard, Costa, Kante, Luiz, Azpi have all been great/inspirational at times this season but the one thing is Conte has been there every step of the way, shouting at them telling them what to do, when to do it, I'm not saying he is controlling these guys like Mourinho claimed about Luke Shaw and the whole my mind his body thing but its like he was playing every pass for them, initiating when to press, when to stay back, when to switch the play. Is nerves getting to him? He said Tottenham are best team in the league after the game and we only had a 50% chance of winning the title now etc... maybe this is new to him because at Juventus they were always on top and far far away from other teams, no doubt Conte is a winner but it was odd watching him at the dugout during that game. I also think the players have to take blame, theres been talk of we have to do this to win the title for a while now, I think they are overthinking it, just go out and win games, don't think about the title just yet. When its mathematically impossible for anyone to catch you, then think about it but until then, they should think game by game, 3 points by 3 points.
  22. I think he'd be an absolute monster as an out and out wing back. Hes a very good player, maybe the Barcelona system isolates him at times, it isolates all their defenders in all honesty and has done for many years but if he was available we should go for him. We have no chance signing Alaba. He would only move from Bayern to Barca/Madrid I reckon but holy shit what a footballer, brilliant as a LB, CB and CM.
  23. Great lets go sign an overhyped and I'd suspect over priced English CB who is nowhere near the level of Kurt Zouma and will likely cost 2-3 times what he did. Zouma has the potential to grow into an extraordinary CB if he can build up the understanding and technical side of his game, eventually I see him becoming that central defender in the back 3 or the one on the right he just needs to become more competent with his positioning at times and with the ball at his feet (ironically I'm going to use a = rather dodgy - comparison to young Micah Richards, he was a monster physically and used his physical attributes (pace and strength) to bail him out if he made a positional error/mistake, Zouma needs to build the other side of his game, which I feel he will to become a complete central defender), he will learn that, hes just recovering from a huge injury too with a new coach and new system. Next season he will be better. A lot better than Michael Keane anyway.
  24. Or has anybody just considered hes just not good enough to play ahead of Cahill or Pedro? Because I assure you if he was good enough he'd of played in Alonso's place or would have taken Cahill's role as LCB. Harsh realities here, we cant assume every player we have out on loan is going to be a good player for us. Sure we have had exceptions, Christensen will also be in that mold I would imagine but the harsh realities are that playing CB for Bournemouth and Chelsea is two hugely different things. 1) Is he even ready to play for Chelsea? 2) What is his best position, he is able to play CB, LB and DM, that to me is a good advantage for some teams but also a disadvantage because whats his best position? Where do you play him continuously? I'm sure Benitez thought he would be a good option at CDM and Conte probably thinks CB or LWB? 3) He is a home grown player, that is probably the only reason hes back in the squad.
  25. If we are going to go after anybody from Spain, who plays center back. Please make it Laporte... left footed, very good for his age and also has a lot of room to grow. Not that I'm saying Jorge Mere isn't a decent prospect because he is, but I think Laporte would be an excellent signing for the left center back role. Or Romagnoli.
