  1. This is the same Jamie Redknapp who thought England should look at Matty Phillips for a call up (guy is capped by Scotland), was only stopped by somebody telling him through an earpiece and he also said that Moses is "young English talent", when Moses is 26 and Nigerian. He is a stupid cunt. Whoever takes his opinion seriously needs a headcheck. How can he say a guy with 77 PL minutes is an unintelligent player? He's shown his true colours there. Is he at Cobham watching him train??? Be a different story if it was a Spurs player. Or Liverpool. Arse bandit.
  2. Take it and run!!! 60M can get two better players.
  3. Not a chance, that's an outrageous claim mate. Mahrez only ever got into double figures at professional level last season and then two other times while playing for Le Harve II at amateur level.... Hazard has done it 6 times at professional level. How can anybody say Mahrez is a better goalscorer when he's scored less career goals than Eden has? I don't see why we would want Mahrez or godforsake if anyone was to want Vardy here, look how poorly Leicester are doing without Kante, he was the glue in that team last year, Vardy and Mahrez won't ever do better than they did that season. None of them will ever do that well again unfortunately, although they have some other decent players in the team now. If there's even a chance Sanchez is thinking of leaving Arsenal we should try for him. There's no doubting the gulf in class if we had Sanchez Costa Hazard upfront as opposed to Mahrez instead, Mahrez probably isn't even an improvement on anyone we have who plays that position in the squad and Sanchez is more than capable of playing well on the right wing, he did it in his best season at Barca.
  4. I think he means in the formation, he only has 4 places for midfield and two of those are for wing backs.
  5. Pains me to say it but he's 36 and doesn't suit our system so it makes perfect sense to let him go end of the season but let's not forget about what a glorious career he's had here and he will always be our most successful captain and you could also say arguably best player? Also probably the best English CB ever as well as one of the best there's ever been in th last 25 years.
  6. Simeone a shambolic manager? He took Atletico from a team that normally finished way off the title to league champions (most two sided league in world or was), won copa del rey, won europa league, won UEFA super cup, won Supercopa de Espana and got to 2x CL finals... all in 5 seasons. Shambolic yeah? He's probably taken them as far as anybody can take them without having £150m to spunk each year on world class talent like Barca or Real do, he's definitely overachieved there and that's mainly due to him and his coaching, they are probably the toughest team we've faced up bar Peps record shattering Barca and the Bayern team in 2012 (they absolutely battered us at times). He's also been La Liga coach of the year 3 times in 5 years so there it is it confirms he is definitely a shambolic coach. Him and Conte are more similar than you'd think, two ex players who were captains and club legends who rebuilt their clubs (Atletico & Juventus) very successfully, who have an emphasis on hard work, discipline and organisation/structure although Simeones work at Atletico is more impressive than Contes at Juventus, because he never had both Barcelona or Real Madrid in his league.
  7. Another testing game for us. I honestly expect more of the same from what we seen from WBA, wingers tucking in to defend full backs, lots of men behind the ball etc, I mean Weat Brom almost played with a back 6 at times to which it worked effectively enough although Sunderland have had a lot of individual errors so might be a bit more chance of breaking the deadlock early. Can't give Defoe any chances either, he's not exactlt an amazing player but he doesn't need many chances to get a goal. Can see us winning 2-0 or 3-1 or something.
  8. Making good progress based on half a season so far (I know goals dried up in comparison to first 10/11 games) but again lets not get carried away, he is highly rated at the club and by Conte going on his quotes earlier this season but let's leave him to get 50-75 more first team games somewhere without claiming he's the second coming of Jesus or that because he will have low points like all youngsters do but I am excited to see what we can get out of him, he has the right tools and attitude to be a first team regular here but he's still only in the championship just now, he will get to the PL eventually but it's a harder level. Can't see him being in squad next year. Plus I must say again Batshuayi isn't a bad player he's just not playing because Costa is playing amazing, why drop him or take him off after an hour when he's fully fit and playing that well.
  9. I'd be surprised if such a rule even existed but if it does, let's just blame Mourinho seeing as 3 of the 5 talked about incidents happened under him haha. Although can't believe we recieved a fine bigger than City for the game this year, really is piss poor from FA, only potential blemishes is Cesc and Nathianels actions but let's hope nothing comes of it.
  10. It's double standards though, when Rooney, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling and Ibrahimovic have been poor/making mistakes he's never said a word. Two errors from Liverpool keeper (okay cost them points, which we all want, but still).... unfortunately as a pundit you've got to try and hide your ties to clubs which I know certain ex players and managers don't do but he was critical of LvG last year but isn't of Mourinho as much this year.. in all fairness I think we should all be able to question his stint as a manager, he talks a good game on sky sports but he went to do the real thing and was out of his depth, it's okay being an assistant coach for England but even then based on his managerial stint with Valencia it just shows that some ex players walk into roles based on reputation rather than actual experience and ability to being able to deal with everything related to it. It's got to the point where if he just let the kid have his quote and ignored it it wouldn't matter now but it's obviously hurt his feelings and his brothers who also worked there at the time so he's spat the dummy out now Klopps involved and it will rumble on again likely. Sure Valencia are a mess but 4/5 months before he was there they had finished 3rd or 4th in La Liga, normally when a coach changes automatically things get better but they didn't, they struggled to even win under him in like the first 11 game, suffered the biggest loss they'd had in the last 10 years or so and yes they still haven't improved under two other managers which is fair enough but doesn't mean that it's gone as poorly as it did under Neville or that he did anything that can be mirrored as even a minor success. Klopps won trophies for BvB, in a time where Bayern have usually dominated the Bundesliga with a massive financial muscle so if anyone was entitled to question Gary Neville and his credibility as a manager it's him surely? Same as if Conte was to or Mourinho or Pep or even guys like Koeman, Pochettino, etc. Like I said Gary Neville talks a good game on sky sports as a pundit, he does but his stint as a manager downed his reputation as opposed to have improved it. The fact he's back in sky sports studio than in another coaching role says it all really.
  11. I hope we don't go for Nainggolan now. We got Kante already, Nainggolan is also probably 28 or 29, same age as Cesc and isn't an upgrade in all fairness to either Kante (wasn't 100% sure about getting him and not Nainggolan at first in summer but been proven wrong), Matic or Cesc. Not even gonna mention Rudiger because he's pretty average and isn't better than any CB we have at the club.
  12. And 100% correct in all fairness. Neville was a top player (ok fair enough he wasn't in the same bracket as Paul Scholes or Thierry Henry who do TV work) and now is somebody who analyses players and tactics every week but he failed horrifically as a manager... even guys like Carragher, Jamie Redknapp etc, all ex players (good players in their day but again not world class like Henry, Scholes were) with no management/coaching experience. It's an odd world but it's as much as Nevilles fault as it is the players or Klopps for how they are still arguing/having jibes at each other. Phil Neville involved too, laughed at Chris Suttons comments about on radio about how the Nevilles are like the Mitchell brothers...
  13. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38240386?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_sport&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport Totally agree with this and is similarly to what I've said about Luiz in various threads.
  14. Wouldn't be against a move for him. He really has come on a hell of a lot since I seen him play for Neil Lennon's Celtic side. Wouldn't go overboard and say he's best CB in the PL, would still rate Alderweireld and Koscielny ahead of him but he's been the most improved CB in the last 2 years in the PL no doubt. Has a good presence, doesn't dive in, brilliant in the air, calm and composed on the ball... would really suit our team.
  15. I'm sorry but Ozil and Sanchez are amazing players and I would have them here in a heartbeat ahead of any of Pedro, Willian, Oscar and Fabregas. Both would still get games at Barca and Real without a doubt. It's not that they weren't good enough, they were discarded because of the recruitment of new players and reduced playing time on offer. Di Maria is another example. Real apparently want Ozil back which says it all. Ozil was probably just as important to Real Madrid than Ronaldo was, if you look at all the assists and chances he created. Look at how upset Ronaldo was when they sold him, along with how baffled most of us were never mind Real Madrid fans. I find it quite ridiculous that you think he only fits fine at a club like Arsenal and that him or Sanchez didn't make it at those teams, especially considering Sanchez was part of arguably the best footballing team in history along with Ozil haven proven himself in the international stage as well as for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Both were successes. Anyway regarding James, he could probably play that role RW/RF role to be honest but he's not as fast as you've said, but again neither is Pedro. Pace isn't everything, he's not like painfully slow, he has amazing technical qualities and most of all which is important for attacking midfield players, end product. If he was available at a price let's say 50-60M and on affordable wages, would you really say oh no let's sign one of Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar or Lucas Moura instead because he's "failed/not good enough/unwanted" ? No way, not a chance in hell, he'd probably be a hit at any other top club, heck probably even at Barcelona if they could wedge him in there somehow. Many clubs have done this before, buy Real/Barca players that are unwanted/don't want to sit on bench because usually what Real/Barca dispose of usually is someone else's gain (some even get resigned), like Ozil, Sanchez, Fabregas, Pedro, Di Maria, Makelele, Yaya Toure, Robinho, Eto'o, Carvajal, Morata, Denis Suarez, Ibrahimovic, Thiago etc. The list is endless. Being discarded for Real/Barca doesn't automatically mean your or good enough or failed, people seem to say this every time we are linked with a Real/Barca player, but if they were at another club it would be oh yes sign him... but sometimes you've just got to realise Real and Barca are two of biggest clubs so that's how they get them in the first place. Keep an eye out on Dybala more than likely going to one of Real or Barcelona eventually in the next 2-3 years too then it will be rinse and repeat, someone else will be available and sold and whatever else.
  16. They lost on all fronts that year but he's still won a CL there as well as a few UEFA super cups and the club World Cup. It's also not like it was directly his fault they won nothing that year, what more can you do in your first year at an elite club than get 10+ goals and assists and voted in to the La Liga and UEFA team of the year? Fitness, work rate and injuries along with 3 different coaches/tactics and the emergence of Asensio/consistency of Isco has been his problem, not his actual ability and you'd be a fool to even suggest you don't buy a player like him to win games and titles or not agree that he'd walk in to our team among several other top teams in Europe. Before he went to Real everyone on here was desperate for us to make a move for him, myself included, just because things don't always work out at Real/Barca doesn't mean you should automatically write off a player, they are the two biggest clubs in football history, things havent worked for players just as good as him.
  17. I think that will be precisely what they will look to do to be honest, look to exploit that spaces behind Alonso and Moses and try get players in between our midfield and back 3 as well as behind it. Not expansive football though! They will probably soak up pressure hoping we play a high line then play on the break. I think they will also try to use Rondon up against Azpi to try and play off second balls from knock downs a lot too as well as the usual set piece threats they have. This will be a tough match, they won't want the ball as much as a Spurs, United or a City, so let's hope we are able to break them down, they will almost definitely have 2 banks of 4 or even everyone behind the ball if they have to and that's not disrespectful to West Brom because they are very good at that and have won points off good teams with it before under Pulis. Still think we shouldn't change a winning team except for Matic in maybe but this will be an busy time for us. Maybe the likes of Zouma, Batshuayi, Willian, Oscar will get more regular minutes from the bench as opposed to 5 minutes or whatever some of them are averaging this season from the bench but I can't see 5 or 6 changes to the team every game.
  18. And the fact that foreign players generally are better. Or so I would say, but I'm Scottish so can't really talk haha
  19. Would of been a brilliant move but I think he only ever wanted to leave Barca for Arsenal same with Ozil leaving Real for Arsenal. Pity because him and Hazard in the same team would be excellent. Just seen Udinese. Jesus. My eyesight is atrocious.
  20. And they have Spanish players like Isco and Asensio (president sees both as future of Real along with Bale when Ronaldo fades out team) plus Bale can play more centrally too. Real are obsessed with stockpiling, the likes of Isco couldn't get a game last year in all honesty and they said he wasn't wanted or believed to be good enough but look at this year. I think James would start in most teams around Europe, no doubts but his work rate and fitness has been a big part of his demise at Real too. He was sensational with Carlo in his first season at Real in terms of scores by goals and getting assists. Was 10-15+ in each but Isco has worked harder and also is more versatile too which helps because he can play on the left right as a 10 And as an 8 in a 433
  21. Decent player but 35M is a piss take and even then he'd struggle to get a game here at all. He'd do well at a club like a Southampton or an Everton maybe, that sort of level but even then I don't think they'd be hugely desperate for him when they can get better and cheaper CBs all over Europe. Avoid please.
  22. He kicked the waterbottle out of frustration due to the refs giving a correct decision booking Pogba for a dive. He talks about some refs pre match and criticizes/talks about them negatively before match day and agter. He was the same here, when we weren't winning or things didn't go his way he blamed players, referees, crowds, linesmen, whoever and whatever he could bar himself or the other team simply being better, some day it's a ta tic to deflect blame but it's very stupid too, he's a bellend in all honesty, showed this sort of behaviour throughout his careeer. Harrasses fuck out of the fourth officials constantly as well, the FA have been trying to prevent this behaviour and tone it down for years now and that they have started doing so they are "unfair" or "wrong" but his antics in previous years along with other managers have made the FA stricter, same with players with dissent to refs, shirt pulling, social media and whatever else. I know Contes no angel but he's not as big a bellend as Mourinho is.
  23. Really don't get Emerys changes in PSG game. Two full backs, like for like changes and Jese subbed on at the 84th minute when 2-1 down (far too late although they got a draw) they really threw that top spot away quite horrifically, no real desire to try and attack or win the game, in a team with guys like Di Maria, Lucas and Ben Arfa who were piss poor too, it makes no sense. Weird going ons there, Di maria and Ben Arfa were terrific last year while Lucas has always been inconsistent. Suppose that lucky bastard Wenger won't care now they finished top. First half of Celtic-City was a brilliant game too. City and Celtic both really have soft centers but could of scored goals galore, hope there's games tomorrow that are just as open, seeing Spurs lose would be great as well.
  24. He was pretty shite in all honesty but Gladbach didn't help themselves. The one guy we should sign from Mochengladbach would be Dahoud, a good young MF player with great potential and at times tonight his use of the ball and also willingness to take it while under pressure was encouraging but the other guys couldn't hold on to the ball if there lives depended on it. Thorgan still has huge steps to make to be an option for us if we were to resign him, although he has promise but what he showed tonight in terms of trying to do everything himself and overcomplicate simple things has been a regular occurrence this season which isn't good when you consider Gladbach really are struggling.
