They just love to talk utter shite. Lukaku, De Bruyne, Hazard, Courtois... always seem to have something to say. I cant believe people actually think Madrid are going to try sign him over the likes of Neymar or Salah... I would swap Eden for both at the moment, I think he always seems to have an excellent season then a beyond average one right after.
-
Seen somewhere hes proud to be a Chelsea player and still wants to win trophies here etc, well its about time he starts putting in performances and resigns in the summer then isnt it? Same as his mate Eden. Put up or shut up.
-
Agree completely, undoubtedly Boga's chances here sailed years ago but he looks more ready to play regularly. Think CHO should be a regular feature for us in the next 3-5 years if he can continue to develop and score a loan move somewhere where he can be productive like Tammy in the Championship for example unless a manager was to be brave enough and put him right in (dont want to jinx anything but haha). He isn't exactly short of confidence for a 17/18 year old (little bit like Raheem Sterling when he played against Man City in his Liverpool debut I think it was - fuck knows why I know that but) and also I think he has a little bit of a maturity and understanding in his game, which is what I think will make him stand out along with Ampadu here.
-
Is it bold to make such a prediction like he will be McEachran 2.0? Cant get in the Celtic team at all. When he does he doesn't do anything of note. Crazy people believed he had more right to start than Willian or Pedro earlier in the season, even Boga looks better and more consistent than him.
-
Good player with good potential and as you've said younger yes but Alderweireld is one of the best CBs in Europe. 25m would be an absolute bargain.
-
Think like Barkley, if we can get him for 15-20m its a win win, if he signs and starts to hit some consistency and improve, its good for us and if doesn't improve and get back to that level, he'll be here on a 5-6 year contract and will undoubtedly make the club money although I'm more concerned with results on the park and reckon that he could be a good signing if he went back to a back 4, not sure about Alonso in a back 4 at all. Hes a big powerful full back who can cover a lot of space in a short time, think he'd be an ideal fit here.
-
Sure he was maybe a reason why they scored but again like with Cahill or Ivanovic or whoever else in recent time hes gotten a lot of pish for things that is truly nothing to do with him directly. Which shows exactly the mentality of the some of the fans of this club. Monreal fair enough but what about Jose Gaya? Alberto Moreno, who suits Spains style to the ground and played u21s with the Spain manager? Alonso deserved a call up for last season in my eyes and now hes finally gotten recognition on a wider scale but now its not oh hes done well its, oh he only had Monreal for competition.... He boosts his stats with free kicks? So what? 6 PL goals with a lot coming from set plays is good for a LWB, considering he got a vital winner vs Spurs, Southampton as well as add the goals he managed last year, we'd be a fair few points off where we are now if it weren't for some of his goals. Obviously he wont grab many headlines being a LWB but him along with Christensen (who has had a rough patch recently), has been one of our more consistent players this season (defenders being more consistent players suppose that means the seasons a failure). 12 PL goals in 1 and a half seasons from LWB is a good return, regardless of how good or bad you think he is. Hes solid because he shows up does a decent enough job every week. How many of our players can stake a claim to that this season? Not very many. Why do we seem to slag off every player we have who are doing a reasonable job, is it his fault hes probably our best LWB? No. It is the boards for not signing Alex Sandro or not signing Luke Shaw about 4 years ago or whoever/whatever. Ridiculous. His assists could improve but again Morata and Giroud have had good chances on a plate from Alonso and not scored. Not saying hes the best crosser but that game vs United for instance where Alonso put a peach on a plate for Morata and he hit the bar comes to mind. Its not like Alonso is an absolute train wreck like Bakayoko. Did he boost his stats last year with free kicks too? Or was he genuinely just really good last year because I would like to know? Because I think last year we all wanted an elite LB and maybe still do. Fair enough hes not exactly the best LB out there but in terms of what he cost and the availability of others, not the worst option. Yet its typical for fans of this club to slag off players who are at least showing up 75% of the time and doing reasonably okay, especially in a tough season and a tough patch.... no wonder everyone thinks we are a joke. Fair enough goals do happen and sometimes you can point the finger at an individual but we have bigger problems than our LWB who has been doing alright this season, like our attacking players except Willian seeming to have vanished and our 40m MF signing being an absolute waste of a footballer. Also throw in uncertainty over Conte's future, finishing top 4, winning a trophy etc.... But anyway once again lets all be morons and start slagging all our players off,.
-
Not sure what he has to do to get some credit. People talking about letting us sell him to United but he was very solid v Leicester. Called up for Spain too. No mean feat considering the options they could call up. Throw in the fact he has 6 PL goals this season too.
-
Diego Costa didn't play for us this season. Which is precisely why I said Morata carried us the first half of the season. Because in terms of goals, he did.
-
He scored like 10 goals in the first half of the season. Nobody else even got close to him for that output here.
-
and Eden drops off completely off the radar and doesn't get the half the shit.
-
I hope your joking. Lol. He was carrying us the first half of the season. Suppose you'd probably have given up on Drogba after his first year here too then.
-
Hasn't done any of note for Celtic since than assist v Zenit, just a highlights player really, no substance to his game, no end product.. Can't believe people were honestly expecting him to start ahead of Willian and Pedro earlier in the season before we loaned him out. Absolute madness.
-
Not even debatable now. Has been for months.
-
Tbf regardless if he comes in or not, the fans will all complain about him, the signings and his system too. I don't even bother blaming managers anymore because they all get the same shit.
-
Interesting, he'll definitely get more touches of the ball there, could be a bold switch but I think he should remain as a CB here for the time being.
-
Fucking hell calm down, recall Mason Mount, dont make me laugh haha. Cesc is not an athletic player, he gets exposed in a 2 man MF but in a 3 man MF with two athletic players next to him he is still more than usable here. Didn't think he was that bad vs Barca in the first leg or the second leg in all fairness, fair enough players are always going to run past him and some of his passing was wayward but if we sell Cesc whos going to be that player who can control a game for us? Kante? No chance. Barkley? Dont make me laugh. Bakayoko? HAHA. Fair enough maybe sell Cesc in the summer but if he goes we need somebody with that same sort of skill set as him if we are to have any chance of dominating games.
-
Not even worth debating. Oblak is world class. Donnarumma is still learning his trade and quite frankly based on what I've seen of him this season, is going to take a long long time to get that good.
-
Think he’d be worth a punt especially with somebody like Kante next to him, pity he is inconsistent but he has got a knack of getting goals when it matters. Think we should go back to a 3 man MF regardless. Although not sure a move for him would actually happen.
-
Would it be fair to say he’s our best player?
-
He will walk into a top job next season for sure where as we will appoint Luis Enrique or some second rate manager. Exciting times ahead. Pity that it looks so clear that he will go because I think if we could show that sort of performances like the two v Barca and first half of United without individual errors then we would secure top 4 no problem.
-
Bad moments. Hes clearly offski in the summer. Would of said replacing him is a huge issue a few months back but if hes going to play like that in big games he isn't that much of an issue to replace. Although when he wants to be excellent, he is excellent, just a pity that hasn't been very often this season.
-
He needs to compete on the biggest stage, he has never done this to the level he has in the PL, is this an issue? Definitely. If the club wants to be winning or getting to the last 4 or 8 of these competitions at least we need everyone to show up. I keep seeing oh why sub Eden with 10 mins to go at 1-1 or 2-1 or some scoreline because he can produce a moment of magic at any moment... but its never happened in a big game in the last few months or so except maybe that pass for Willian v United. Being a great player and not performing in the bigger games is different to being a great player but performing well against smaller teams. This sort of thing is why I believe Neymar and Dybala will or if they already haven't exceed him. Neymar and Eden isn't even a close competition for me, Messi, Ronaldo are in a tier of their own, then Neymar, then the likes of Eden and Dybala. Also another example of big players showing up in big games: Thomas Muller, he is not an overly exciting footballer or an incredibly gifted one in the same way Eden is but in the big games he is always going to turn up and score a goal or get an assist.

True but these mistakes are regularly happening. I think if Luiz was fit he’d maybe have opted for him tonight because 4 or 5 matches on the trot he’s had bad moments. If it was Cahill he’d of been slaughtered 100%. Also if Willian had played as badly as Eden recently, slaughtered. No doubt in Andreas talent obviously but mistakes on a weekly basis does warrant a rethink, perhaps if Luiz was fit he’d have more food for thought.
