  1. Quite rightly so. Fuck playing in that United team, player such as Kovacic would be wasted. Fred and Pogba are wasted in that team too.
  2. Martial for Lewandowski 😂😂😂😂 I hope Woodward and Mourinho have been smoking dope or something. Not a chance in hell Bayern do that. One is a world class number 9 the other is a player with promise but has struggled with consistency. Not a rocket scientist but I know who I’d rather.
  3. All of those players listed who were scapegoats have all contributed to the history of the club in recent years (sure Morata hasn't). If that’s not worthy of any respect then I don’t know. Fabregas and Willian aren’t of decent standard (don’t be daft)... so Barcelona, Real and United all interested and having been reportly bidding for Willian is a mystery to me then. I remember when we signed Fabregas he was exactly what we needed. We’d be crying out for a player like him for years. Sure he’s older now and has his flaws like every footballer but mentioning pre-season again it means nothing it is not result orientated it is fitness and preparation that comes first and Sarri will need time before we become the real deal. Also me naive? Open your fucking eyes. Read your posts. For a supposed Chelsea fan you sure paint the image you would rather see the team lose and pop up everytime there is something bad that happens. Also this playing better football doesn’t necessarily mean fuck all as well if you have nothing to show for it. Actually in all fairness you sound like Jermaine Jenas when he said Spurs should have won that semi final last season because they played better football.... Sure we could have played better football over the last 10-15 years but look at what the club has to show for it in terms of trophies because we’ve known how to win games, cup matches etc. If Sarri comes in and has nice football but wins nothing? How long do you think he will last? Do you think Pochettino would be given 4 years here if his best achievement was finishing second to Leicester? Wisen up. Arsenal Liverpool Spurs what have they actually achieved in the last few years with their good football? Again. Nobody has said we will be second either, there is more than enough in this squad to achieve top 4. We finished 5th last season not 11th. Comparing teams against each other in pre-season is stupid too, it means fuck all. Yes I agree goals is a bit of a problem but if this team shapes up anything like Napoli, (most goals, chances created and shots on target in the last 3 seasons in Serie A with players like Mertens, Callejon etc who aren’t better than any of our starters), we will create chances and we will score goals one way or another... you'd think we had a squad of 25 Bakayokos. Also continually belittling the league win under Conte? What are you all about? Yes no CL football but he rarely rotated and had Alonso and Moses as key players... wisen up youd think you were on the wind up.
  4. Again positives and negatives but Sarri has had little time due to his late appointment, we’ve had a lot of travelling and with world cup players not there to integrate as well as not getting a few players over the line I wouldn’t have expected anything else. Pre-season isn’t important for results and even more when you consider a new manager and a big change in philosophy. People who are expecting an instant fix or change from Conte need a huge reality check. You can see why Sarri wants a center half of his choosing in as well as a striker and the talk of more MF reinforcements. Some of the guys aren’t buying the whole idea of keeping the ball under pressure in some areas and some of the team aren’t making the right passes or correct movements to create passing options but it’s going to be a gradual change. Top 4 is still easily obtainable and the minimum target id imagine, once the World Cup players return and the team adapts a bit more it will get better again. Also if Sarri is as good as we all think or know he is, it will be fine. Pre-season results in the last few years have always been dodgy for us in all fairness, these stupid international cup tournament things are purely for money. Also, Arsenal have had more time with their new manager as well, got signings done earlier, both which ultimately helps them with the integrating and training of their team. They didn’t look a lot better than us in any departments although in attack they moved the ball a bit quicker than we did at times and had more cutting edge in finding key passes but that is understandable when you have Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubamayang, Lacazette all available.
  5. Just doesn’t have the footballing intelligence or vision for this sort of philosophy. He’s a good ball carrier but final pass is shocking. I know it’s one game here under Sarri and it will improve perhaps with time and training but I’ve seen it before at Palace too. He’s not got that refined end product to make himself a viable option here. He’s not a winger so he’d be even more wasted there. He plays best centrally, yes but in a possession team end product and execution is needed.
  6. 100% agree. When things dont go well fans turn on players too easily. Guys like Ivanovic, Mikel, Morata, Cahill, Willian etc in the last 6 or 7 years alone have been spacegoated for team failures. Then it becomes a whole squad/majority of it for whatever reason etc. Courtois, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho (already going to be key for us) and Hazard is as strong a spine as a lot of teams have in the PL. City’s perhaps have got the only better one? Ederson, Walker, Mendy, De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero? Even then it’s questionable to say Walker is better than Azpi or that Kante, Jorginho or Hazard wouldn’t walk into their team. Throw in Fabregas, Willian, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso, few other players who aren’t amazing perhaps or what you’d consider spine level players but are up to a pretty decent standard and for me, as long as Sarri can convey his methods across, we will get top 4, even if these guys who aren’t as well regarded in terms of ability, are regulars or not, in terms of quality they bring us a reasonable standard in the squad. I mean look at Cesc for example first year under Conte, 12 assists from the bench? That is incredible. If he doesn’t start every week and can come on and get even half of that in a similar role? That’s 6 goals that could potentially win games or salvage draws. The likes of Moses, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Cahill can all be considered disposable yes but the perfect squad is not made up of 25 world class players, it is impossible to accumulate such a thing, even Peps Barca side (considered one of the greatest in history) had pretty average players over that peroid like Adriano, Keita, Abidal, Gabriel Milito etc too who were used when needed to be as well as youngsters who were never truely good, Tello, Cuenca, Bojan.... Far too much negativity here, yes we’ve had a few poor seasons but this core of players are winners and have won a lot in their careers. We’ve gone through his cycle of blame: firstly it was the players before it was put down to Mourinhos tactics, then the players again before ending up being Contes tactics. Now players getting it again although the season hasn’t started yet. It’s an odd cycle. I am under no illusions we can improve tenfold, there is no perfect football team but this we don’t have a top 4 level squad bullshit? Some people are extremely naive, this squad at least 50% of it has been part of 2 league title wins and a few cups in the last 3 or 4 years. Spurs don’t have a better squad than us. Neither do Liverpool. First 11s in some parts maybe but they’ve had how long of continuity with a coach? 3/4 years? Sarri built something incredible at Napoli in my eyes in terms of an identity and if we can have that in place for a few years and win or stay very competitive at least we will reap rewards in the long run. But will people wait or whatever? People will turn on him as soon as shit goes wrong like previously done with coaches and players, so we can’t win.
  7. Drinkwater on for Cesc and we lose the momentum. Moses on now and by the looks of it wearing captains armband wtf... Alonso doesnt offer any width just gets the ball and goes inside the box, needs to leave that to attacking players. Give width, create space for others. Thank fuck he’s gone off Emerson hopefully get a chance to show us some more.
  8. I genuinely think the more likely for that position from that article are the 3 players already on our books as opposed to Hamsik, Pjanic, SMS and Thiago. Also your list, again more likely to be somebody already here than anybody from there. Also Anderson Taliscia?!? I hope your joking. This isn’t FIFA lol. There’s a reason he is in China. I quite like Max Meyer, he did a decent job playing as a 6 for Schalke, is a decent talent but he is signing for Palace apparently. Youd think we might add one, maybe 2 in MF if Bakayoko and Drinkwater can be shifted and RLC goes on loan but even then I hardly doubt it’s going to be a huge buy (hoping Milinkovic-Savic comes out of nowhere but). Jorginho needs a back up and maybe someone to play more further forward although Cesc and Barkley can defos do that job and I think that Barkley has done alright so far. Jorginho and Kante will play most games though and I imagine if we sign one more MF player it will more likely be a low key player to provide back up to Jorginho as it would be stupid to not have somebody incase he gets injured/fatigued.
  9. Even I’m getting annoyed wwh Morata after continuously backing him. He hit a poor penalty, brought a good save from Cech but also seems intent on messing everything else up 😂 Alonso needs swapped out I feel. Too slow for left back.
  10. Ffs Willian has not gone AWOL and then covered his arse with a passport story. What a load of utter shite. He told the club and has had to wait to get his passport sorted to come back as would any other citizen of any nation.... the sun and times are encouraging this AWOL shit based on he has the same agents as Costa and was close friends to him, no actual proof where as Costa was pictured in Brazil at the time he was meant to be back. People will believe anything these days, it’s actually laughable that AWOL bullshit and this whole idea of him poisoning the dressing room as it was put in another thread as well, honestly for Chelsea fans to make such claims on here, a few days after that article slaming Cahill for taking 3 weeks off, it’s horrendous and makes me wonder why people even bother supporting the club if their just gonna spout or take absolute non starter stories as truth. Actually makes me think no wonder other teams fans seem to think that a large portion of Chelsea fans are morons.
  11. Good to see the positivity surrounding Sarri’s appointment is still on the go. Not. Fucking hell calm down. Throw Eden, Willian, Kante Rudiger and Courtois into our starting 11 and we are going to be a top 4 standard team at least. You’d think we were getting relegated. Yes we need bits and bobs but you’d think we had gone bust and sold all our players reading this thread.
  12. Not any team in the world would be stronger if they had Kante (arguably the best defensive minded midfielder in Europe right now) and sold him in my eyes regardless of who they replaced him with. Its like Madrid selling Ronaldo, they are instantly weaker, even if they got Hazard or Neymar.. still be weaker. He’s such a selfless player but he’s a huge part of the Chelsea team and also the France team and I think regardless of how simple his game seems, you couldn’t sell him and replace him with Ndidi, Milinkovic Savic or whoever because there aren’t many players who do what he does at the level he does it at.
  13. Two pre-season games one good one bad. Hard to judge anybody on pre-season as well because it’s mainly for fitness, also he played poor v dead rubber but looked much better against Inter. He falls down a lot but some are fouls. He’s not the only player that this happens to in Europe though. Sarri has said he likes him so I’m sure he will give him a chance. Give him another shot this season, I think people will be surprised, think he has plenty to offer this team. Maybe I’m wrong and will continue to be but I think people will get a surprise off guys like Barkley, Pedro and Morata when the team completely adapts to the philosophy.
  14. Sellling Kante? Why would anybody suggest such a thing. He and Jorginho will be key to our team for different reasons. Jorginho for dictating and building the game, always being on for a pss and Kante for counter pressing to get the ball back as well as his ability to cover so much ground, bring balance as well as a counter attacking threat. He’s going nowhere and he will be in the team 100% when he’s back. Deserves a new contract, he’s been our most consistent player since he arrived 2 seasons ago. If Eden resigns he will probably earn more but nothing been done on that front yet.
  15. Honestly if we got a CB, Bailey and Milinkovic-Savic as well as shifting possibly 3 players (Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Cahill) I would say that is a decent window all things considered. If Courtois leaves okay he will need replaced too but nothing is certain yet.
  16. The guy needs to give it a rest. Napoli won’t replicate the same sort of football or results under Ancelotti either. Plus what have Napoli actually won in recent times?
  17. Bernard? No thanks, had potential has never really developed like expected, not good enough even on for a free. Would much rather we got Max Meyer on a free, would be good back up for Jorginho. Only issue would be wages which is why he doesn’t have a club.
  18. He’s always been successful in terms of winning trophies regardless of circumstances over the years etc but his man management skills have really gone to shit. People like Klopp, Pochettino, Guardiola, Zidane.. more modern day managers have moved the goalposts in that regard in my eyes. Or Mourinho has just gotten even more bitter, which could be true, but even then he was always shrewd or a bit ruthless in that way. I remember JT and Lamps and everyone else like Didier, Essien etc having such a high opinion of him as a man manager but think now a days if they were thrown into his squad it would be a different story.
  19. Jesus. That is stupid. Almost as idiotic as the guy criticising Cahill for taking the full 3 weeks off in an article on here haha. No way Martial is gonna stay at United, even if there was a slim chance after the whole shit at the end of last season 100% not happening now.
  20. Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Pulisic and Hudson Odoi? That would be pretty good options for out wide. As much as I rate CHO and Sarri obviously likes him I still think he’s not going to feature too regularly. Willian might go which would change things maybe yes but I still think Sarri will want to keep him at all costs alongside Eden.
  21. Great move for him. Personally would of liked to see us get him on the back of a good World Cup but he will definitely play every week in France and at a club renowned for developing talent. Will obviously have to see how it pans out for him.
  22. This guy is a brilliant player but I’m quite concerned we haven’t targeted a younger but similar sort of player to be back up/compete with him because he cannot play every game. He will fatigue. Sure Cesc maybe can do that role but not like for like.
  23. Not necessarily untrue. At his age Lampard wasn’t as talented for sure. Lampard obviously had some talent but look at all the backlash he got at West Ham when he was a younger guy, many believed he was very much picked because of who his dad was and that his uncle was the manager. West Ham fans picked him out regarding his weight as well. He worked himself into the guy who made it all the way to the top, I doubt many people around at West Ham would have imagined seeing him go as far as he did and theres no doubt he got there through sheer determination to prove people wrong and shit loads of hard work. Natural talent doesn’t necessarily triumph over hard work. That’s why Mount has to work hard to continually get better as well as take on the whole mental side of wanting to be a top player which a lot of talented youngsters struggle with. Same with Hudson-Odoi. Josh McEachran technically had the potential to be an excellent footballer, we all had big hopes but he struggled with the mental and physical side of his development coupled together with a lack of continuity here and at Swansea where he very much wasted 6 months. Technically there probably weren’t too many in the academy who had better vision or technique at that time than what he had. So there’s always lessons to be learned with the clubs history with youngsters.
  24. I hope this article is a joke fucking hell 😂 “The mere fact that Cahill is yet to report for pre-season says it all. He’s entitled to three-weeks off, but the fact that he’s taking them all is disgraceful.” If its a disgrace why hasn’t Sarri hit out about it? Or the club? Or why does this ok you’ve got 3 weeks off but you should be rushing back not apply to the other World Cup players? It’s a shit show. Just a needless pointless argument. Cahill is the Chelsea captain and a Chelsea player, he’s not the best player, he’s beyond average but this whole idea that becauses he’s taken his leave before having to report to training “is disgraceful”, is just a circus and quite frankly I have no idea why anybody would write such a thing never mind a supposed Chelsea fan. As fans we should respect the players, he’s not the best like I’ve said but quite frankly think this is daft because there’s no article slamming Hazard, Courtois, Willian and Kante for all doing the same. Embarrassing. also thinking about it this is the same guy who slated Rudiger last season on the basis of one game despite the fact he was one of our most consistent players when he got in the team regularly. Not sure who lets him write articles.
