Think people getting a bit worried about if we lose him next season far too early, we are 2 games in, yes hes world class but this is a big year for the club. Just enjoy him while hes here for now and then we will see what happens next summer.

Think it was an extremely risky appointment in general. Derby are always the nearly team, its big expectations that they have. For somebody who hasn't even coached at u18s or that it was a huge risk but a bold one that will still be a good experience regardless of how it goes, although I do hope he can make a success of it. I watched the Leeds-Derby game and it was a demolition job, Marcelo Bielsa totally outwitted Lampard and they outplayed them but its a learning curve. Its nice to see younger coaches getting involved though but still I feel that sometimes the reputation as a player can give the impression they'd be a shoe in as a manager. Steven Gerrard at Rangers is somebody with experience at under 18s or 23s and so far seems to be doing well, fair enough different league but the expectation at Rangers is huge and it has chewed folk up and spit them out (have a feeling hes unbeaten in 9 games). I think Lamps could have done with a smaller step to start off, Jody Morris would probably have been more suited to going in as the manager as opposed to Lamps based on his success and more importantly his experience managing with youth teams from 2014-18, although again the youth team shit doesn't always naturally transfer over to senior football for players and managers but I generally think Jody Morris will be a top manager once he decides he wants to go make the jump.

I think Jorginho still has to adapt to the pace in defensive situations, for the deepest MF player to not have been closer to the penalty spot for the second goal is criminal. He should be protecting that area. CBs didn't help either true enough but still that zone should have been his responsibility. I dont think playing Kante there and moving Jorginho higher up would be beneficial though. Jorginho is crucial to playing out and you can see that he is the go to guy when the CBs have the ball, much like Busquets at Barcelona, Fernandinho at City etc. In terms of those chances maybe they wouldn't have been goals but again I don't think it would of made a difference, everyone was flat footed in that situation, somebody unmarked running onto the ball is always going to have the advantage of somebody standing still.

But again a players ego for me is related to confidence. Not the motivation. These guys who have egos, the Ronaldo's, the Messi's, the Neymar's, the Ibra's even the Hazard's, the Bale's etc you would never ever ever question their motivation. Not one bit.

Think hes just saying Conte was also a top manager. Where as Willian was quite vocal about his dislike of Conte to Brazilian ESPN I think it was, Hazard obviously not so much.
-
Which again especially in the big games last season from December to March (when our top 4 bid really fell apart in my eyes) where Eden did this and had said he hadn't played very well afters, I was very disappointed a player of his calibre would let that affect him. You should always be motivated to play football if your a professional. If you aren't then your no use to anybody, regardless of how good or bad you are. Fair enough Mourinho and Conte wore thin on some players, Willian and Hazard especially but still they should be sufficiently motivated to play for Chelsea regardless. Just like Martial at United, that should be sufficient enough motivation. Perhaps its not as black and white as that and we seen what happens when not only a few players but the majority of players who were in the starting 11 under Jose lost the motivation that year he was sacked and again under Conte. Sometimes a move helps but I don't think you can say hes playing poorly for United because hes not motivated. The guy lost his WC spot last season and didn't go to a tournament they won, if I was in his shoes I'd be chomping at the bit to prove myself to get back in that NT and the first 11. He should have all the motivation he should need.

3 seasons at Chelsea and hes about 10 goals off what Willian has done here in 6 years in the PL (which I expect to change this season I think hes gonna get that 10 plus along with Pedro as well). Seen that on twitter somewhere. Doesn't mean anything but for a left back, impressive.
-
Typical Hazard quote. Never gives much away. Hes staying for this season, lets see how it pans out. No need to panic, which I'm assuming many have been beforehand with the fact the windows closed for English clubs and not for other European clubs. Traditionally hes a slow starter in terms of how his season goes but 2 sub appearances, looking very good and has 2 assists. PLenty more to come.
-
Honestly don't think he was bad, hes still getting back to playing as a right back but I've seen a lot of shit on social media that we need a new RB, 100% incorrect the guy is one of the best in the business. Fair enough he doesn't run 100m in 10 seconds but hes excellent defensively and hes always improving on the ball. The CBs are more an issue for me. Pity hes not 6 ft 2 or 3 because I think if he were that bit taller and more physical he could be adapted to a CB (Although that is based on his role in a back 3, totally different in a back 4 I know).
-
I'm sorry but if your not motivated enough to play for a club like Manchester United, your not a dedicated professional. Not being motivated isn't a flaw that is down to a manager or team, its down to the individuals mentality. Can't continually blame a manager like Mourinho (although he has his flaws, guys like Luke Shaw have had it extremely tough from him), who like Van Gaal also discovered, that Martial has flaws and perhaps his mentality is one of them along with inconsistencies in performances. The guy has not seriously held a consist run of form since he first broke into the United team and then for a spell in Mourinho's first season (this is coming from a pal of mines who is a big time United fan) and I'm sure most Utd fans would say hes been inconsistent largely throughout his spell there.

2 games 2 goals. Really exciting because this is the sort of guy he was at Barcelona. Never created a lot of chances but in and around the box, making late runs, coming infield to create overloads in the final third... thats what he would do a lot. I said I thought Sarri would rejuvenate Pedro and in pre-season and so far its looking to be going that way, I think he can get 10 goals at least this season. 8 more to go in 30 plus games? Surely?
-
Yeah I'd agree. Barkley had a good game as well (defensively still could do better though) I think so its great to have competition in that role (when was the last time we had a midfield that was so varied and had a lot of different profiles of players with different skill sets?), can only help although we all know Kovacic is the man for that role when hes at 100% unless Barkley goes on a very good run. I still think Barkley will get the nod next week and Kovacic will get more minutes off the bench. Expect Hazard to start next week as well think that is two games now where hes came on and played enough minutes and looking fitter, so another weeks training should be fine. I like Sarri's thinking for integrating the likes of Hazard and Kovacic in, giving them adequate rest (I know we are only 2 games in but this is a guy not known for rotating a lot) and also gradually building up their game time off the bench considering their world cup campaigns and not having worked with him as early as some of the others (as well as giving some of the other guys a good chance to stake a claim), especially considering that usually Hazard is a slow starter in terms of how he gets going in the PL but that is two sub appearances and now 2 assists for him. Goals will start coming next. Feel he could have had one yesterday but wasn't selfish enough.

Hes looking better every game I think. Today was a big game too, when we faded I'd say it was more to do with Kante-Jorginho perhaps not positionally being right without the ball as well as Ross but again its a learning curve, lets not forget we are 2 games into the season and theres plenty to learn yet. The game could have went so much differently if not for some dodgy finishing and good saves from both keepers/strikers.
-
Yeah perhaps some nerves but again, the ones he spilled he was very quick to react to and made up for it. Yeah the first one was generally poor defending. The cut backs caused a lot of problems in that 20-25 mins before half time where they edged into it, they had 3 other big chances they could have scored, if I was an Arsenal fan I'd be gutted that my team couldn't put any of them away because they were huge chances. I think Kepa will not be an outstanding GK straight away, hes been good, reliable in his 2 games but he still has to grow as a player and also physically I'd imagine he will undergo a programme to put on a bit of weight just for the difference in how much protection GKs maybe don't get as much as in Spain, needs a bit more I think, or even naturally in the long run he'll perhaps fill out a bit more.
-
I think Kante can score close to 10 goals this season if he keeps doing this third man runs. Really think his runs into the box caused Arsenal huge issues, fair enough eventually it gave us problems as they started to create overloads and caught players out of position but its a trait that can be used in certain moments of games. Really think hes going to be another level under Sarri because hes not having to labour for 2 players like he did most of last season,
-
Giroud playing for 15 minutes, I don't think he did any more than Morata, he had one chance and it was saved. Our pressing in general needs worked on still in some instances but promising signs don't think Morata not pressing was due to anything other than instructions at times, he spent a lot of time splitting the centre backs. Giroud cant be Morata and Morata cannot be Giroud as they are 2 different types of players, lets be frankly honest. Its like wanting Azpi to be Marcelo.
-
Great cameo. Few bits where he looked rusty maybe but everything else, you can see his technique, how comfortable he is defending, dribbling past folk etc. Big player for us when he gets upto speed a bit more because he can't be fully 100% in the tank yet.
-
Might get a bit of stick for the goals but I don't think its as bad as some may make out. More importantly, the defending needs to be looked at more. Jorginho playing as that deepest midfielder without the ball has got to be closer to the penalty spot in those situations. Centre backs just stood about too.
-
Yeah I'd agree, but for his 75 minutes he did well. Second half he wasn't great but he didn't have any clear cut opportunities and I think we took the foot off the gas a bit but still, like I said, room for improvement, had a decent effort from outside the box saved by Cech (anyone who watched him at Madrid know what he can capable of from 20 yards out so hopefully see a bit more of that too). Newcastle next in the league I believe? So hopefully see something similar if not better, I think it will build his confidence.
-
I think he means 2 good games out of 2.
-
Was very impressed with him actually, thought he defended well, set up the first goal too. I thought Bellerin's pace would of caused him a problem all game long and maybe for 20 minutes (think the whole team struggled there) it did but rest of the match he was solid.
-
Another decent game I thought. Goal too. Don't think hes finished yet, still room to get better, hopefully more to come.
-
He was decent, wouldn’t say outstanding but when Spurs had the ball he wasn’t very good defensively. Few decent forward passes but also gave it away. I think that you can see why a top club never took a gamble on him.
-
We are playing some great stuff but I think our defending has been very poor. Keeper could have maybe done a bit more with one of the goals but again the chance and chances they had created before the goals show that we have work to do. Jorginho could have been better positioned for the cutbacks I feel. Plus the Center back stood there like spare pricks. Kovacic and Hazard brilliant link up already.
-
Wait and see, they don't exercise the right to sign him. Only Chelsea. Just fucking sell some of these 38 loanees who will never make it. Business is business yeah but fucking hell, its getting beyond ridiculous now its only best that for some of these guys (Kalas, Piazon, Omeruo, Baba Rahmann, Miazga, Nathan, Kane, Blackman) to find an actual club who will want them to be part of their long term goal as opposed to "bargaining chips" or whatever the fuck they are being retained here for.
