  1. Honestly his age is the only thing that would make me be against this. His record at Real for goals and assist is pretty good. On his day he is undoubtedly unplayable and Reals best attacker by a country mile. Injuries have played a part in derailing him over the seasons at Madrid but no doubt when hes fit and playing he is a huge asset and would be to most sides. Dont think physical attributes declining will be an issue for next 3 years and if he does lose a yard or two wouldnt matter hes already very very very fast. Who is actually better who is out there at RW? Not very many players.
  2. Meh maybe. But again, does it really matter? Many other clubs would do it too if they had the means, such as billionare royal family owners who own companies worth billions that could deliver recordbreaking commercial sponsorship deals for stadium names etc, lets not kid ourselves.
  3. Kovavic doesn't score enough but neither does Barella...? For me, Barella is more of a box to box midfielder as opposed to the more offensive minded goal scoring MF player we need. He has one goal in Serie A this season. He is more suited to where Kante plays but he wouldn't dislodge Kante in my eyes. Not even in the next 2 or 3 years after this season. Cant see Kantes physical attributes declining massively either and his game has improved here on a few different levels, mainly tactically, technically as well as offensively this season. And in his best years I see this trend continuing.
  4. Corrupting FFP? Lets not beat around the bush, we were one of clubs in the UK to throw shit loads of money at everything when Roman took over back in the day. The likes of Real, us, PSG, City are all equally responsible for FFP in my eyes and the inflation in transfer fees over the last 15 years. Sure City and PSG have found more loopholes now but years and years ago we would just blow teams out the water, double the wages and agent fees etc. It worked no doubt but bit hypocritical because a lot of our success in the last 15 years has been bankrolled with huge spending on transfer fees and wages. Thats the reality of it.
  5. Juventus want him and Chiesa. Reckon they will stay in Italy and go there rather than come here. Probably a wiser move for them too. Juventus' MF players are aging and so is Cuadrado.
  6. If Eden goes and Sarri can convince CHO to stay, think he will be given more minutes although we will still strengthen that area. Pulisic, Willian, Pedro, CHO not sorst options but can see us signing another player with Willians contract dispute being news and Pedro being 31 or 32.
  7. He can play asn an 8 or a 10. Much better output than Kovacic in the final third.
  8. And for exactly the same reasons Benitez and the current Real boss dont rate Isco. James showed under Ancelotti and for Colombia he is more than hard working enough. He is more suited to playing as an advanced 8 than Isco for me. Isco a great player but again, I consider him more luxury than James. Plus James end product is better.
  9. 100% Isco is less intelligent tactically and perhaps a bit more of a luxury player. Both great players but James on his day for me is better. Score, assist, good delivery from set plays, good shooter...
  10. Honestly I would day Azpi has been good offensively after a difficult start being shuffled back into a back 4. Always getting high up and getting crosses in. Hakimi is a good talent though. Still needs a few seasons to be better than Azpi at least.
  11. No point keeping him if he wants to leave again.
  12. I think if he was to start scoring/assisting then we can really say he is important and a true bargain. He has got plenty to offer but fitness is a big issue in his career so far. Hes looked better here so perhaps his move and how we prepare players helps too but I want to see more, I want to see the same sort of dynamic, aggressive performances he was churning out under Martinez in his breakthrough and at times under Koeman after a tough start. I think hes more an 8 than a pure 10, you can see his research if youll call it that on Sarri's Napoli and Maurizio's coaching was helping him understand when to be more creative, when to be more conservative, how to always be open to receive the ball. Hes more involved in the middle third of the pitch than he was at Everton. When we struggled, he looked a bit out of sorts but he has shown a lot of promise this season in patches.
  13. Wish he'd stop being a fucking prat and just say, Although suppose he did that before we signed him too, big announcement bla bla bla So announcement on Wednesday 75% is "Im leaving" 😂
  14. Interesting move. Became a very rounded MF player at PSV who play the traditional Dutch way, lots of possession, passing and moving. Be worth a shout for a back up maybe if he can stay fit. Pity he got injured under Jose years ago because he had the potential to be a very solid midfield player in my eyes, although being a youngster he wouldnt of featured regularly.
  15. Yeah but the games he actually started in he was close to abysmal most times bar one game v Brighton in the PL. Hes good to throw on against tired teams when your constantly getting service into the box but when we used him from the start, he was useless because his link up and movement was so mediocre. Definitely not worth the 32m
  16. "bUt He CaNt PlAy AnYwHeRe ExCePt As A dM" Na hes so good, so adaptable. Adding goals and assists to his game. Sarri was questioned when he used him there and has been continously but Kante every year has become better with the ball here and is still doing so. Brilliant. Says a lot about his desire and willingness to improve as well because he was already a world class player, who had won 2 PLs and a World Cup.
  17. He is undoubtly a good player regardless. For me, some of his movement is quite simple but its brilliant and effective. Only been 2 PL games but 2 goals today along with plenty of encourging signs regarding his natural instinct of knowing when to make runs. Just need to keep giving him chances because hes a clinical finisher when he gets going. Also for someone Sarri said is in "bad shape" that would indicate for me that the more game time he gets in next few weeks the sharper he will get. As I said plenty of promising signs along with his pedigree as well, why not be a bit optimistic about what he can do here the next 5 months?
  18. Honestly I dont get the whole CHO should have started shit now because its 4-0... Higuain has scored 2, Eden has scored 2... Willian is also playing alright. I suppose some people will never be happy.
  19. 2 good goals. Good movement. Not so shit now eh
  20. Sort of agree with your point but Alonso also has to do more to get back in. Although he isnt incredibly quick to do so at times. Eden sometimes neglects to pass to him to go inside but again the full backs are always going to be high so losing the ball will leave us exposed at times, thats the same issue City and Liverpool also have though. Teams who commit their full backs high up are always going to be exposed in wide areas when there's a turnover.
  21. Exactly. Sarri has clearly challenged Kante to be much more adventourous this season, to have more involvements offensively as well as recover the ball higher up the pitch, like the rest of the team. He still offers everything else, I dont buy this he is a DM only because hes never actually played as one here bar 4 games under Conte before he went to 343 and didnt at Leicester. His best games have always been in a MF 2 or MF 3. Kante and Jorginho are nailed on to start most matches regardless of form because Kante is a world class player and Jorginho is essential to how we play , its the LCM position that is a huge issue and even if we played with a 10 still Barkley is the most natural fit for that role and is infuriating at times along with the lack movement infront off him. Jorginhos struggle isnt just completely down to him, he is man marked most matches and the other MF players dont take the responsibility to take the baton and demand the ball as he does. Even when he gets time where are the options he had at Napoli for instance? Everyones coming short, nobody is willing to move off the ball to create the opportunity for a longer pass. Nobody making selfless runs like Callejon or Hamsik would or a regular basis. Fair enough hes also had poor games but he is a key component and I would hate to see how good he would be for City because they have a bit of everything, quick combination play, plenty of MF players who are willing to take responsibility, wide players who make excellent movements without the ball. Sarri could play 2 strikers when we are chasing a game yes but we need plan A tp be effective if he is to have any future here. If it means being stubborn and having to build the squad again then so be it. When you appoint a guy like Sarri or a Pep or a whoever who are one method managers who play their way or nothing then you have to buy into it.
  22. Yeah for another manager to do exactly the same. Good idea. You would think we were Ajax and Sarri is going against the culture of the club...
  23. But again with 4231, your going to lose movement off the ball which Kante provides. Its not a huge difference, two screens yes but Luiz at CB and Alonso or Emerson at LB is still pretty suspect. Plus Sarris attacking instincts Kante will still be asked to push up and make options because he cannot affect a game from a deeper position in an offensive way. It will be interesting to see if he would change it but I wouldn't expect anything hugely different. Fullbacks maybe have more cover yes but again, will it affect our attacking play? Defensively weve been poor recently too and I get thst but Sarri is a purist, he would rather win 5-4 playing in that way than grind out a 1-0. The Man City game was maybe an exception at times but they pressed us so well.
  24. Lets be honest no manager weve had in the last 5 years would play him ahead of these guys so its hardly anything to be surprised about or to particularly just blame Sarri for. Happened with other youngsters in the last 10 years or so too so again, hardly surprising.
  25. 100% I get people have different views on Sarri and whatever but the point youve made is spot on. Luiz, Alonso, Willian, Hazard and Barkley need to perform today especially. Thought Emerson would be left out he was poor v Bournemouth. Higuains movement has been promising so far, lets hope we get some service to him.
