Champions League Final 2021 - Man City 0-1 Chelsea

I dont know how anyone can be as stressed as 2012. Our season depended on the final in 2012 and we had a squad that was awful in terms of the fact it was in serious need of a rebuild. This is a free hit although obviously we want to win ... As good as City are I just really don't think they are as good as that Bayern team were either in all honesty. They were frightening, I still have no idea how we won that night. We will start with a much better team tonight than in 2012 IMO on paper at least. City are the best in Europe maybe but I don't think their at the level that Bayern team was with Heynckes in that period 2011-2013. I dont think football is that way inclined anymore either where teams are all physically, tactically and technically very rounded. Its usually a team is good technically, tactically or physically. Theres rarely ever a mix. I feel extremely optimistic tonight I think we will win this. -
Needs a PL loan again for next season. At West Brom he was alright but nothing special. Hasn’t done enough to come back here and warrant a place in the squad I would say.
 -
Has he not only scored like 5 goals in 2 seasons? We lack goals as it is with Werner, Havertz, Ziyech, Mount etc not putting over 10+ so why get someone whos scored 5 in 2 seasons?
 -
Because the Dutch are arrogant wankers in footballing terms. And always have been. They think just because Cruyff was a genius that they know everything.
 -
Find it odd why he hasn’t slammed the United players or manager? If he is of the belief Villarreal are what they are, not great and shouldn’t have had enough about them to win then surely the only persons to blame are the United players and manager no? Roy Keane is probably the only ex United person who would go through them because the rest of them are spineless cunts who are still shit scared of Sir Alex Ferguson and call him gaffer despite retiring about 15 years ago as well as probably afraid to say anything out of line about Ole incase he gets in touch with them 😂 Souness and Keane should commentate/analysis every football game. As well as Neville, Richards and Carragher. The other ones not very good.

I’ll be honest its an absolute eyesore regardless, swear we get a nice one every 3/4 seasons and the rest are either meh or horrendous 🤣 -
Just do what I do when its some of those helmets, watch the game with the sound off. End of the day I think it will be pretty impartial to be honest, for as many who will think City will win, there will be a few for us as well. They know we can hurt them and have seen the two previous games against them for us so its not like its going to be treated as if its Aldershot Town v Man City. Savage used to play for United as a kid so why he would be cheering City would be an absolute mystery to me although he is a bit of a knob. Danny Murphy is just shite full stop. “Passion” and “determination” are the only words he uses in an analysis. “Oh he ran around showing passion and determination” isnt that not what every footballer does? Or at least 90% of them? How he has a job as a pundit is beyond me.

Reappointing Pochettino after sacking him 18 months later really sums up Spurs. I hope he’s on a huge fuck off sized contract and it costs them a fortune. Either way, they are going to lose Kane without a shadow of a doubt. And even then why would Pochettino want to leave PSG after they've just won 2 trophies, are in the CL and have a league crown to get back next year to go m back to a club who will be looking to break into the top 4/6 again? With limited funds? Who will lose their star player? Who probably need a major rebuild? I don’t get why he would be so desperate to go back there, I really don’t. If competing for top 4/6 instead of trying to reclaim a league title and win trophies is the sort of manager he wants to be then he will never ever achieve half as much as I think someone of his obvious coaching ability should. I get people will say Ligue 1 is poor but PSG didn’t win it this season, he should have every motivation to want to win it back next season no?
 -
Don’t let it bother you. End of the day who cares what the pundits think. Also yes they wanted United to win but its British football pundits they are obviously going to be biased but at the end of the day its the same for German pundits/journalists, Dutch pundits/journalists, whatever nationality they will always back their own nations team.... its how it works.
 -
Do people really care about who commentates a CL final that much? 🤣 Be all the better for when we win if their all there. I mean honestly, yes there is a lack of ex Chelsea players/managers as pundits maybe but doesn’t make a difference to the 22 people on the pitch and the 2 managers at the end of the day. Plus if Napoli was the only game you witnessed pundits on our side you obviously missed the 2012 CL semi finals at Barca where they praised us after the two games which were extremely difficult when we looked dead and buried at 2-0 in the Nou Camp plus the games v Atletico and Madrid this season in particular they were extremely praiseful of our team.... then after the CL final in 2012 too although it was a very difficult game they did praise us also, particularly Drogba, Mikel and Cech. Whats with this victim mentality on here?
 -
Aye for sure. Ultimately it was a pretty crap game throughout regardless and the penalties were the best part.... which only one was saved... sums it up. De Gea looks finished at United. Well either he or Dean Henderson will be now after that tonight. And whilst De Gea is miles off what he used to be, Dean Henderson showed a lot of flaws (particularly in that Liverpool game) that makes me think United probably need a new number 1.
 -
Tbf the bloke in the net for Villarreal must of got his hands to about 4 penalties prior to De Gea’s and never looked like saving one either to he did 😂 thought it was going to go another full round after the first 11 for Villarreal.
 -
That is true. But I just think on Saturday, its going to be a game of few chances and undoubtedly one will fall Timo’s way.
 -
Hoping he has his shooting boots on for the final. And that he stays onside!!! He will get a chance/chances for sure at some point
 -
Good ebening Bruno Fernandes anonymous all game and they made him captain too tonight 🤣
 -
Also is it just me or has Bruno Fernandes been one of the worst players on the pitch? And they’d even made him captain? Wtaf
 -
Tight call. Cavani again with another big goal what a signing on a free at his age. And people laughed when we were linked with him too!
 -
Lindelof still should do better either way. Shaw should’ve seen the block off coming as well a million miles away.
 -
Maybe but if they need 70-100m they won’t get it shifting Vidal, Kolarov, Young etc will they? So someone will have to go. IIRC I read that he named Lukaku, Martinez, Skinirar, Barella and 3/4 other players as untouchables apparently and Inter couldn’t guarantee it which contributed towards why he left as they felt he would he managing with his hands behind his back. The success without spending part you mentioned is a weird one because now a days, most of the successful managers and teams spend a lot. I think you have to now, I mean look at Klopp and Pep at Liverpool and City for example, coaching only got them so far in competitive leagues. Tuchel is the same here he will need to spend in the summer. Wanting or feeling the need to spend doesn’t necessarily question him as a coach for instance. Fair point re Atalanta, as they are an interesting team for sure but you get the feeling that they’ve gone as far as they can and again its going to take investment to spur them on. Same with AC Milan which lets not forget they spent a lot of money on young players a few years ago and again brought a few in last season. Spurs also we seen they clearly hit their ceiling with Pochettino. Leicester 2 seasons in a row in prime CL spots and lost out probably due to a lack of squad depth. So theres always a flip side. I think if Inter had done better in the CL maybe he wouldn’t of felt so inclined to ask for more players but they finished 4th didn’t they?
 -
What a shite game so far. Commentators maybe even worse than what these 2 have done so far though. Also on Wan Bissaka, great defensively but when he gets the ball, he either cuts inside and loses the ball or dribbles into someone. Abysmal. Also hope United get beat, Bruno Fernandes wankfest will be over with. No more Cantona comparisons 😂
 -
We dont need someone who’s career is basically winding down/wound down as an elite top top level footballer. Or even if he rediscovers some of the magic he had he’s 30 now, high wages for 2/3 seasons before moving him on again? Plus do you think we will be going and spending 40/50m at least on a 30 year old? Really? With our policy for 30+ year olds? Let him go to PSG, he will be a makeweight for Mbappe.
 -
Well I suppose either way, you can see his point. They spent money and wanted to be competitive, to win titles, they've done that now and are yanking the carpet from under him more or less. If they sell one of Lukaku / Martinez / Barella / Skinirar (their most valuable assets undoubtedly), yes it would balance the books but the quality of those players are near impossible to find, never mind on shoestrings as well by sounds of their finances. I think it won't be surprising if they manage to maintain top 4 but I will go on and say that they will be miles off the title with Inzhagi if they sell one of those four. Crazy they won Serie A and finished last in their CL group though. Inter need to be careful though, Juventus and Roma will be better next season, as will AC Milan undoubtedly.
 -
Crazy. Inter not going to improve, particularly in Europe, a great deal by cutting 70-100m off their budget in all realism though. Going to mean a Lukaku or a Martinez or a Barella has to leave and they are three of their best players. Seen he had said there were 7 or 8 players he wanted to be deemed as untouchable but they need to shift someone to make money. Simone Inzaghi looks like hes going in there, will be interesting, used to a smaller budget but any team having won a title the expectations are much bigger and Inter wont want to just disappear after 1 good season particularly how long it took them to get back to Serie A champions and plus with Mourinho at Roma as well as Allegri going back to Juventus potentially they are going to be in a weird place. Be interesting to see if for 70-100m that losing Conte will be worth it. I am surprised they haven’t found an investment from somewhere else but suppose COVID still affecting others.

Hes 21 years old mate. Him, Pulisic, Havertz, Mount, Gilmour etc are all in the age range of 19-22, nobody’s ever the finished article at that age...
 -
Only issue with Chilwell is his lack of aggressiveness/determination to make a real impact on the game in the final third compared to other fullbacks. When he arrives in the final third he doesnt really do so with the aims of influencing the game in the same way that other fullbacks do hence why hes only got 5 PL assists in almost 2300 minutes. Although I suppose for a fullback thats maybe not the worst but there sure are times he is extremely frustrating. Think his last PL assist was v West Han a month ago. Then before that his last PL assist was in December v Villa. He only has 2 assist in half a season with Tuchel in all competitions which isn’t great. All in all, could be worse could be better in terms of his performances at times, the price tag always going to weigh down on him if he doesn’t up his level though and become a better player. I think mentally he isnt ever going to be driven enough to become the best or one of the best in his position though and that is worrying.
