Maybe but the circumstances alone don’t deter from the fact more and more youngsters/established players are moving abroad from English clubs. It will only continue to happen not just for youngsters but other players ie looking at Bale’s success in Spain for 3 seasons or so when he first went there. Tripper going and winning La Liga as well. Ramsey going to Italy and winning 3 trophies with Juventus. Then the youngsters like Sancho, Bellingham, Musiala going to Germany for Dortmund/Bayern or even the likes of Lookman, Ampadu, Nelson, Smith-Rowe etc going to Leipzig/Hoffenheim etc in recent seasons on loans or permanents ahead of PL clubs for instance. Even Bayern and Dortmund wanting CHO as well. Players will go there, I don’t think its as easy as saying their only going cause the other teams/big teams wont play them for say, these leagues are of decent standard and present different challenges in their own right. Even more so why 75% of every top player in the PL has probably came through from another league. Even then Eriksen, isnt British fair enough but left a team who had reached a CL final to go to Italy and ended up winning Serie A. Maybe but not as if the clubs haven’t made mistakes either ie us not using Tomori more the first 6 months (especially considering Rudiger and Andreas didn’t feature as often as well as Thiago Silva being 36) and also the last 6 months of the previous season he rarely played for whatever reason and then also Tottenham letting Tripper go when they had much worse options at right fullback. Tripper has been ever present for England since going to Spurs and thats continued in Spain. Not as if Spurs have/had better in Aurier or Kyle Walker-Peters at that time either and now Aurier wants to leave so they look even stupider.

Yeah definitely are much more than before, still don’t know re Abraham, don’t know if he would personally. Its not just English footballers to be honest, its been British footballers as a whole the last 10 years or so and its good to see because it is boring just seeing them go to top PL clubs the whole time and also, these different leagues and cultures bring something different to them as players and as people. Tbf Sancho turned down a new deal at City and refused to go on their pre season tour to go there and Jude Bellingham turned down Man United so it just shows its a more interesting or appealing thing to do now. Other promising younger players like Ronaldo Viera, Jamal Muisala, Rabbi Matondo, Jonathan Panzo, Yunus Munsah, Arvin Appiah, have made moves to Italy, Germany, France and Spain also in this last however long from big clubs or clubs where they could have played first team sooner. Tripper may not have had much interest but a move to Atletico is hardly a bad one or for Tomori a move to Milan is also hardly a poor one. I mean in terms of Tripper hes now linked with a return to the PL to go to Man United after winning a league title. Wouldnt have happened at a West Ham or Newcastle.

Jesus is that ex Man United boy still playing? I thought he would be about 35 by now, only 27 wow 🤣 ironically he also played for Wigan like our Reece James.
-
All those journalists seem as if they know something though. Thats the whole point of their job. I have no doubt we are interested but 6 months ago reportedly Haaland didn’t consider us a top club so it just shows how erratic the media can be. I think if he had his pick of all the clubs and they all matched his demands we would be near the bottom but because we are in a position to do something this summer, we are the “favourites”
-
Talk of Donnarumma going on loan for a season to a club playing in CL. Smart signing though for PSG, next number 1 for 10 years when Navas retires / slows down as he is still a top class GK. Still need to sort out a new deal for Mbappe though but I think it might be tougher than their president thinks. And then Pochettino, keep him or let him go?
-
Looks even slimmer that he would want to go if Sancho leaves also this summer as he is someone he knows at least although Bellingham is there tbf. I really can’t see Dortmund wanting Tammy all that much either in all honesty, I think they’ll go for Andre Silva makes more sense for their type of buy. May as well try though if Haalands on the table potentially. Still going to need to shift one of Alonso/Emerson and 3/4s of the shit loan players if we want to buy more than just a CF though.
-
Just a rumour from an unreliable Italian journalist. Still cant see it happening, Lazio wont pay all of his 120k p/w wages and we shouldn’t be doing them any favours considering he isn’t good enough and its not as if they will be paying an unbelievable loan fee either, this is Lazio, not Juventus or AC Milan. Either way your celebrating us loaning out a player who’s nowhere near good enough, who we should be trying to sell, who probably wont play if Lazio keep both of SMS and Luis Alberto also….

Aye he sure is. I don’t get it. Why did he even pick Trent in the first place I mean bar 5/6 games towards the end of the season he was not good all season… made countless big errors in PL and CL games. Its almost as if the media frenzy of the will he, wont he pick him made the decision for him… or like the England of old where Sven would take about 4 players who all played the exact same role and position, who couldn’t play together - its slightly different but imagine a COVID outbreak/a few injuries and before you know it they are literally lining up with 3 RBs and countless CBs due to lack of depth in MF. Then TAA gets injured and picks someone for another defensive position when they only have Rice, Henderson, Bellingham, Mount, Phillips as more natural central players. I get Foden maybe can go there as can James but again, your not taking players who played as left/right wingers and a right back for 90% of the season as an option for CM when they’ve rarely played that positions or if all this season and you’ve got a guy who hasn’t played regularly for 3 and a half months also in Henderson either. Its just daft. I get that but theres 5 at the back then what Southgate's taken. 3 RBs Walker, James, Trippier 5 CBs Coady, Maguire - who is still not even doing running apparently due to injury - , Mings, Stones, Ben White 2 LBs Shaw, Chilwell Not to mention James could play RCB, Rice can play CB, Saka can play LB/LWB. I mean in midfield any injuries/knocks/COVID outbreak perhaps they are going to be struggling big time. As a Scotsman, as long as its not Mason also, I suppose if they get a few knocks in there and are short in there or have to play Ben White in there, it will be ironic 😂

Dont see how its even in question. I mean these twitter accounts should pick their battles or go back to playing Fortnite or do something else. Some screenshots of the tweets from certain accounts “Mount is a CL winner” what do CL performances have nothing to do with the PL YPOTY? I mean cmon, the irony, I know social media is social media but some of these defy logic at times haha. Plus the argument for playing time, stats will always contribute also which is why the argument for Foden’s playing time is even more moronic. His goal and assist returns/involvement is exceptional, 14 (9 goals 5 assists) in 1614 minutes, meaning one goal or assist every 115 minutes. I am a huge fan of Mason but he doesn’t have that on his side unfortunately or the fact we also didn’t win the title contributed probably after being like what 10+ points off the top like City were after their horrendous start. These accounts are always there though for every team, its embarrassing, almost as embarrassing as the media putting their tweets in a online report. The big outrage re POTY is maybe KdB getting it for City no? I don’t think he’s been that good this season, compared to usual….
-
Southgate is having a laugh surely picking Ben White for Trents replacement. Whats his plans to play a GK, 5 CBs, 2 RBs, a CM and 2 strikers? Englands midfield is literally wafer thin in terms of depth and it will be even more laughable if Henderson doesn’t make full fitness for the first 2/3 games and they get any other injuries in there. Also Maguire is looking like he’s going to be struggling as well. If they two don’t play and England dont do well, he will be out on his arse probably getting as much stick as he did in 96 😂
-
Hes a good player but he hasn’t really looked anything other than very very ordinary this season. Has got 5 goals this season and 1 assist, which isnt the worst but isnt great either. He has played much better in previous seasons but I think if Wolves are that desperate to let him go for as little as 35M that also tells a story. I wouldn’t say he’s done anything significant to have outgrown Wolves. Suppose if he has a good Euros it may add to his pricr.
-
Man City linked with Andre Silva also. Wonder if it will be a case of “oh City want him so he must be good” for the doubters beforehand. I really think he could surprise a lot of people, he has rebuilt his career pretty well after a tough spell at AC Milan.
-
Maybe. Ultimately it depends on how the Euros goes, we all hate to say it but these big tournaments are good and bad for clubs: injuries, discovery of new players, players having great tournaments etc. I think he will contribute for Scotland, he looked much better than Callum McGregor did which I was surprised with but he also was poor v Holland. Will see if he starts but I think he still has to compete with David Turnbull also for a role in the MF 3 and DT is much more of a creative player than we have in the other options I would say, who didn’t start today or play at all, so it will be interesting. I think in all likelihood he will probably get a loan of some sort but who’s to say he doesn’t have an amazing euros and come back and start for us? I think after the Euros it will be clearer. The teams got to be right, no point sending him to Burnley or Newcastle for instance without being too disrespectful but they dont play through their midfield as often, normally going more direct to the frontmen.
-
Subbed on at HT v Luxembourg then taken off after maybe 25 minutes, did really well though. Think he got some sort of wee knock, maybe nothing serious but one of those with the Euros starting up next week just precautionary taking him off hopefully. Would say his cameos in both games maybe puts him in a decent position to start if Steve Clarke is bold enough, although even as a option off the bench he’s good to have. The same for Nathan Patterson who was excellent and looked miles ahead of Stephen O’Donnell as out RB. Lots of optimism for the Euros!
-
You wouldn't of thought so after winning a league title and establishing a real chance to win it again. But I suppose he nearly walked away here after winning the league also apparently.
-
They say its sometime after at least 21 days that you can get it but can be up to 12 weeks maximum before you get the second dose. Or thats what they said that at the centre to me but I am 25, so I suppose to have got the first one on Thursday, in June, thats a lot quicker than I expected. I was expecting maybe end of next month or start of August. Ideally it wont take as long as 12 weeks to get round 2 but I know older relatives and friends of friends who had to wait say at least 8 or 9 weeks to get the second round. My dad is still waiting for his second also and he’s in his mid 50s but hes had work commitments that haven’t helped either. Either way if theres anyone on here who’s not got the first dose already and is nervous about the vaccine or the procedure, don’t be! The only side effect if you want to call it that from Thursday was that I had a wee bit of a sore arm at the bit where they injected it. They inject it into a specific muscle in your upper arm and it literally takes 5 seconds then you sit and chill out for 10-15 minutes in the centre to ensure you feel ok and are free to go.
-
Meh, not necessarily. I mean Leno is a pretty decent GK and so is Martinez, think hes had an incredible 18 months or so but think he will come back down to reality next season. Realistically its only stupid if Leno doesn’t leave Arsenal. If he does leave as the rumours reported a while back then its not a bad move. I still remember the folk on here last season desperate for us to get Onana. Pretty decent GK but, has a mistake in him.
-
was talk that Leno wanted out at Arsenal a few months ago, so maybe this is why.
-
Dont get why we have renewed him. He barely played with Tuchel? Although he is useful clearly in certain systems and when you need a goalz Unless the renewal is for resale but again he’s 34 or something? Interesting either way... If he’s signed because he’s willing to stay and fight, to keep doing what he does, continuing to be an exceptionally hard worker by all accounts and very professional even when not playing, then kudos to him also. Just see it as strange thought he would like to have finished his career playing every week.
-
Don't think he will get played ahead of Kalvin Phillips in that number 6 position or even the boy Klich for them but maybe would get in ahead of Stuart Dallas. Depends though. Bound to be other good teams he could go, wouldnt even need to be PL. Could easily go Bundesliga and handle himself excellently I think. I find it odd you say regressed. I mean unless you watched the youth team/reserves or Scotland u21s, your effectively basing him off the two games v Liverpool and Everton last season, which aye were great games but obviously, he is a young player, they have these highs and lows in performance level. Injury maybe put a speed bump in his path but he’s hardly dropped off enough to say he’s regressed and I think it’s probably fairer to say he’s just not had two games like his first 2 starts. Actually thought he played decently enough v Arsenal and City, as well as second half v Fulham when he was playing 1 v 2 the whole time as Mason was basically playing as a auxiliary left winger Bit unsure how you’ve come to this conclusion. Unless you are of course comparing his standard based on 2 great games, which if a senior player had played like that it would be the same, which he received great amount of.
-
Yep have to agree. Will last 18 months or 2 seasons max, which isn’t the worst if he manages to do something there as they are dying out for a trophy of some sort. I can’t disagree with Spurs trying to chase some sort of short term achievement considering the tome they spent doing the long term building with Poch and nothing really came bar a CL runners up. I think at the same time Spurs and Conte will be a potentially very good match for a season or 18 months though, especially if he keeps Kane. I really think if he plays 352 and can get guys like Lo Celso, Ndombele and the boy they signed from Southampton to gel they’ve got a really solid base in there with a lot of physicality, power and very decent technical attributes. I mean I have been a fan of Lo Celso from his spell at Real Betis and I am shocked its not gone to plan for him yet at Spurs. Ndombele as well has struggled with consistency but has certainly shown this season at times he has real quality, I think he would be a Rolls-Royce in a 433/352 with 2 players next to him that can really get around the pitch in that zone in front of the middle of the pitch and maybe give him that little bit more freedom to go and hurt teams. But again this is Conte so probably wont happen there will be lots of “suffering” 😂. It will be interesting thats for sure. I reckon he has got a lot yet to give even if other clubs/teams will know what to expect. Even here, his back 3, he played it with Italy and with Juventus, it wasn’t exactly alien for anyone who knew of him. Plus the good managers even if people know what to expect, the coaching makes the difference. I think its fair to say Conte is of the calibre. Whether or not Spurs will be able to provide him the squad or at least 3/4 top players to reinvigorate that squad this summer, is difficult to say.
-
Well deserved. Even if we didn’t win the CL, he would of got a renewal though for the work he had done in a short space transforming a lacklustre team into something that was at least playing close to the capability of what it should based on the players there.
-
To be fair I think he’s not the same level as Fikayo was at Derby. He has actually done well in the championship this season with Swansea but still needs another 2 seasons playing reguarly, be it either 2 x 1 season PL loans or another championship loan then a PL loan the following season.
-
Played 10 mins or so, did alright not enough time in the game to really make an impression. Free kick given for their equaliser in like the 87th minute was piss poor. Depay was on the ground more than on his feet.
-
I think hes gonna do another season at Paris then leave on a free in all honesty to go to one of Madrid/Barca. He has one year left on his deal and personally I think he wants to go to Spain as has been talked about for ages, mainly Madrid when Zizou was there but Barca will have seem him up close and personal a few months ago and he was electric against them also.
