  1. If he's better than Petr then he won't sit on the bench for 2 years. And of course he won't get into the team if we don't concede for 10 games straight, and that goes the same for any defender trying to get into the starting line up at the back no matter how good they are. Call me naive, but I believe that in football you don't get handed starting spots, you earn them and expecting otherwise is not the mentality you'd want players in your team to have. Of course this is all hypothetical and we have no idea if that is what Thibaut actually wants or not.
  2. I'm pretty sure that the years spent in the academy even without a contract count. That's kinda the whole point of the homegrown quota: to bring player from the academy through. And thechels.com says that he has been here since 2010 which is 4 and half years. Meaning he's spent 3 years here before going on loan for the past year and a half. Yeah, he is.
  3. No, I don't think Kalas will be as he didn't spend 3 years in England. Piazon has been with us for 4 and a half years if I'm not mistaken and he has spent 3 years here in England. That's why we waited till Jan of last year to start loaning him out.
  4. If he means that he wants to work hard and earn the first place spot then that is a great and an admirable attitude. But if he means that he won't agree to come back unless there is no competition for his place and that he wants Cech gone before he comes then that is not at all the attitude we want in the dressing room. Of course Matic was not guaranteed a starting role no matter what when he came and neither will Costa if he comes. While they continue to play well, they'll be starters and when their form drops and they play badly they'll be on the bench till they start playing well again. And yes, the same applies even for goalies. Petr was dropped for a couple of games this season when his form was bad. And managers don't just judge on performances in matches, they can see what happens in training so there will be a 'fair' chance for keepers to prove they should have a starting spot.
  5. I know that the quotes are probably twisted by the media, but if that is genuinely his attitude, then it's probably best he goes elsewhere.
  6. But you might see Kalas doing it:
  7. True, but if it's anything like the 2012 Euro, I can't imagine England having a lot of possession.
  8. Agree with that except for Gerrard. I'd go with Henderson ahead of him any day. And I realise that RB will look regardless of who plays there which is why I'd go with Smalling to at least do the defensive side if the job. Also, Barry is not a bad shout given all the injuries to Wilshere.
  9. Like I could honestly kill someone! I know the feel bro. I'm in the same situation but instead I graduate in about a month. So much to study, too much distractions!
  10. Juve own half of his contract so buying would be tough.
  11. PLEASE don't compare him to Torres! You'll jinx the transfer.
  12. Looking very likely now PS: Pirlo is a god and Marchisio just can't score an ugly goal.
  13. LOL Each season I do this for the first month then get busy and completely forget about it. Not sure I even remember the password now!
  14. Arsenal having an open bus parade for winning an FA cup. Can you spell desperate?
  15. Yeah but it's shorter than "it worked out in one of the best ways realistically possible for our current position and status in the modern game"
  16. Why? You think he would have gotten the playing time he got at Benfica had he stayed here? He would never have developed like he did. It is just impossible for a team always looking for success and trophies like Chelsea in a competitive league like the EPL to trust an unproven rising player. That's the sad reality.
  17. Why not? That worked out perfectly for us. He would never have developed like he did had he stayed here and the fact that he was here as a youngster helped us get him back quickly and for a low price and helped him settle in almost immediately after his return. If anything this would be a Sturidge V2. Now THAT was pure idiocy.
  18. If Juve win today they'll break the highest ever point tally in a European top league with 38 matches! I think Benfica once got 101 points (and there's Barca and Real's 100 points) and Juve right now have 99. Now that is an achievement that would live on for a very long time.
  19. Surprised about how little is being said about this in the new here. It's really scary thinking about all those signs of climate change because it's all our faults. This was in California a week or so ago:
  20. @, wow, that's terrible. Thoughts with everyone in your country.
  21. Every time I think British journalism hit rock bottom.... Funniest part: "Speaking at Miss Ram's home in Feltham, Middlesex, a woman believed to beher mother said today that she had not spoken to her daughter about the incident with Terry, and did not know what had happened at the store." Even the girl's mother couldn't care less about the incident and yet the fail is attempting to sell it as news!
  22. The asking price was probably more than we were willing to pay.
  23. Yeah. I think it's the one he got last summer in Asia during preseason tour. Oscar also got one at the same time, IIRC.
