Really like this deal to happen because it gives depth and options. Witsel and Matic pairing would allow Cesc more freedom and less defensive responsibility. Or Witsel can step in for Matic. He's a much better option in midfield than Mikel or Ramires

Completely disagree. While buying big names often the answer this club needs quality depth. From January on the team looked gassed. Chelsea reverted back to depending on Hazard to create everything. This team still has question marks at CAM and RW. At some point Terry's level of play will drop off and while Zouma seems like a good successor for Cahill who becomes the leader of the defense? This reeks of what Man U fans were saying leading into the 2013/2014 season saying they had walked the league by 11 points and they'd win the league with ease. While Mourinho is a far superior manager to Moyes, this team needs some help to retain the title as well as continued injury luck. I like the possible Pedro and Aranguiz signings, but I'd still like another big versatile CM that can replace Cesc or push Cesc to the 10 from time to time. I'd also like to see some young talent providing cover as well. Granted I don't know enough about RLC or Traore to know if they can step in and make contributions.

Ambition was the primary focus for the Hazard move. He had no issues with Garcia. Hazard needed a bigger challenge. Sure money is always a factor for a move to a bigger club. Lille fans have no animosity toward Eden and in fact he's revered by the Lllle fanbase. Crazy to thing Hazard was bad for 32 million plus 6 mllion in agent fees. If he was making making the same move from Lille to Chelsea now he'd be going for Pogba type money.

Signing back-ups isn't exactly making moves. Despite winning the PL this team is flawed and needs investment in starters at RW along with future starters at other positions. Chelsea was fortunate with injuries last season; however if there's less luck w/injuries, Chelsea could be in a lot of trouble

Best way to lose a title is to assume you don't have to do much to retain it. This team was not great the second half of the season and the team wore down. Arsenal, City, and United aren't going to stay still. Just look at United two years ago where many of their fans thought the league was theirs because 3 years ago they won by 11 points. Granted they lost a legendary coach and Chelsea gained one but even still you can't stand still and expect to win.

This thread is a bit of a mess. Why not just leave it at Musonda is an extremely promising talent who needs a loan to a team that will get him 10+ starts and 1500+ minutes of game time. He can get that at Marseille as Payet just left and Marseille is chomping at the bit for more Belgian talents after Batshuayi's goal scoring record this season.

Not sure why everyone is so down on Witsel. He's as solid as they come and he'll allow Cesc room to freelance. Matic/Witsel will be a formidable pairing and should allow for stronger midfield and more counter attacking. If it is 18 million pounds it's a bargain

The gap between PL clubs will shrink with the new TV deal in 2016 where the 20th placée team will get 90 million pounds and each place up gets more. Of course those clubs won't have the shirt sales but if a club performs well they can move up.

You do realize Benteke tore his Achillies heel in April... Might of had something to do with his poor start this year.

Much rather pay a bit more for Benteke than take Falcao. Falcao is too much of a gamble. Benteke is 5 years younger and PL proven. Falcao was shambolic in the Prem this year. Plus we don't know Benteke's upside since he's only played for Villa post Belgium days.
