  1. The reason i said 3 goal margin was because we're 1 week away from the community shield and another week from the premiership. I think its about time we put in a performance, and we should play as much of a full strength squad as possible. Its a Championship team. A good performance will be great for confidence in terms of interplay, but goals are vital too. Theres no need for me to shut the fuck up. Its the last game of Pre-season. I want a convincing win. You should too. Our team needs a convincing win, along with a convincing performance. Whether it is 2 goals, 3 goals or more. It should be convincing, as there arent any more friendlies after this.
  2. Malouda will always be remembered as a chelsea great. However, at this point in time, IMO there are enough players ahead of him in terms of subs. Its not that he is bad, but i feel he cant change a game anymore. If we are not winning and Malouda comes on as a sub instead of say Marin or Sturridge or Ramires(for his Pace and workrate) or whichever other players we might sign, that is what infuriates me. Nothing against him or his abilities However, if we are winning, he will be a calm influence to see the match out.( as a sub ) Catch 22.
  3. Oscar, David Luiz and Ramires are OUT for the first game, so dont pick them. Theyve been picked for a brazil friendly on august 15th. Dont know when. I really cannot believe how they could have scheduled a match 3 days before the season begins, both Spanish and Premier league.
  4. a 3 goal victory at the least should be our minimum expectation from this game. Should not be a hard fought win, and the players should have the feeling of fun whilst winning, so that the preseason performances are forgotten.
  5. While i have full faith in RDM and his abilities as our manager, i dont think he has it in him to drop Lampard from the team, as many Lineups suggest. I am FOR the 4-4-1-1 formation or 4-1-4-1 formation. ---------CECH---------- Ivan-----Luiz-----Terry-----Cole Ramires-Oscar-Lampard-Mata ------------Hazard----------------- ------------Torres------------------ While the 4-4-1-1 formation could leave us open in the middle, The only way i can fully support Lampard is if he agrees with this new position as DM-Transition Of play Playmaker, otherwise Mikel/Essien/Romeu deserve that position based on that being their Natural Position. -------------CECH----------------- Ivan-------Cahill-----Terry----Cole ---------------Mikel---------------- Marin----Oscar----Lampard----Hazard --------------Torres------------------- This 4-1-4-1 formation seems to be the most balanced Formation we can have. Mikel has to break up play at times, and pass it on to Lampard , who then looks for Marin oscar hazard, giving torres the best chances of exploiting space between defenders. The Mikel position can also be occupied by either Romeu/Essien. Now the problem here is that Mata deserves to be in the Attacking 4, and the only person he should replace is Lampard. I did not know much about Oscar, but after watching his performances with Brazil, he is ridiculously good and deserves to be part of the starting 11. It will be a shame to buy a player like him and sit him on the bench. The advantage of having Lampard in this Formation is that he can do his fair share of defensive duties as well, while Mata is not good at defense at all. If we were to go with a 4-2-3-1 , then maybe these players would fill the bill ------------CECH------------ IVA----LUIZ----TERRY----COLE ------ESSIEN----LAMPARD------ HAZARD-----OSCAR-----MATA -----------TORRES--------- In this Formation, my only doubt is Essien. Every comeback that he has made, he has always looked great in his first few appearances, sparking talks such as "the beast is back" However, this time, everyone knows he has lost his pace, but he looks composed and has looked good IMO. A DM doesnt necessarily need pace, but has to have the intelligence to be in the right places at the right time and be able to throw in tackles. I also prefer Romeu over mikel, but that is a judgement i came to last season itself. Marin is not yet a starter, simply because he needs to work on his game a bit more and force himself into the team. He has looked good in pre season, but his inability to play for the team in the final third reminds me of sturridge a bit. However, this was pre season so he was trying to impress. Let him win his place in the squad, as he has been injured last season and has not played that often over the last few years. He has great potential though, as long as he takes the right approach to team football. Do we really need to keep player just because of experience though? Most of us realistically are expecting a 3-4th placed finish, so shouldnt we be able to do that with our world class new players, with more possibly coming? I love Lampard, yet i would have been happy had he left for LA Galaxy this season. However, im not unhappy that he is still here. Cannot decide what i feel about Lamps, i guess he is a legend and deserves another season here. He has earnt it. But that creates problems when it comes to the World Class players who are coming in and would otherwise command a starting 11 place, now you wonder which one to choose, and experienced but possibly not as effective as before player(Lamps) as his position is not his anymore, and he has to do another job/another position(DM), for which there are possibly better players who could be playing there. Anyhow, those were my views!!
  6. Just finshed the game.... Here are my views: - Lukaku needs to go out on loan, as everyone can see he has potential to become unbeatable, however ATM his touch and movement are really bad.... god knows what he learnt in the last 12 months of training. - Ramires can simply not be considered to play as RW next season. We need a natural winger with technical ability and an eye for the right pass. - Marin should learn to pass when he is around the box. He does most things right, then tries to go solo, and even if he decides to pass, he is too late as then he is surrounded by players. Maybe playing him on the right would allow him to cut outwards and send in quality crosses? something RDM should try out. - Lampard-Marin one-twos and combos were looking good today. Something for the future. - Didnt see anything special or standout from Hazard today. Its the first match of his ive seen. He didnt make much of an effort and that is NOT OK. I hope RDM lets him know he isnt at a 5 star resort. If he does usually make more of an effort and this was a bogey match then thats fine. - Cole is still one of the best LB in the world. - Benayoun does not fit into our team - Terry Cahill looked good. Overall, even for Pre-season, and the fact that we were playing against an All star team that are in Peak Fitness....... Our play was not structured and did not have a direction or indication of what we were trying. If there was something specific RDM was trying, i couldnt see it. Our game was too messy and looked like alot of Individuals thrown together, which is ironic , as the All star team should have looked like that, but instead we looked a bit lost. Looking Forward to see us in competetive action and see what we actually are like next season. I am worried but also quitely confident.
  7. haha yeah true....but a larger percentage of our loan deals for our youngsters havent really worked out...... was really pissed a month ago when i wrote that post.... but someone needs to come through soon..... Piazon looks the most likely, even over mcechrean.
  8. Just realised i had my 1 year TC Anniversary a week ago! What a year its been! Will post my team in a bit!! Its quite different from most of you guys/
  9. Havent seen this game, but on a general level and based on previous viewings of lukaku, he needs to go to the championship and start a loan spell there, like any other 19 year old would do. In the Premiership he wont get too many games and will really not help him improve massively. What i fail to understand is that footballers usually start playing from their childhood and come up the ranks while improving constantly. How on earth can lukaku look soo bad with his touches, his movement and his game is so clumsy? He doesnt excel at ANYTHING. whats his strong point of his game? Anyways, good to know Piazon scored. Not motivated to download and watch the game after what ive heard in the last 20 pages.
  10. great job on the updates guys! Site looks better all the time! One suggestion, which seems very apt and useful for this forum is: In the new drop down menus that have recently been added, it will be awesome if another group is created with drop down options of important things such as regulations etc, with each option having links to the concerned data, for example one of the options will be FFP , which redirects you to the FFP rules page. By doing this, in the forum threads. there will be more clarity to everyone when discussing various issues that involve rules and regulations, or for that matter, whatever the subject is.... that should lead to higher quality and accurate discussions.....thanks!
  11. "this is a joke now, how many players do they want, the only outcome from this is unhappy players sitting on the bench" Read this on sky sports comments.... First found it quite funny, then realised the worrying bit.
  12. Great transfers for us this summer, and even though i wanted hulk to come, really doubt that will happen now.... i think oscar and a RB will be our last signings. However, one of the most important requirements this summer was to buy a natural right winger, which we havent addressed. Maybe Marin could play there as he has skills and pace... Ramires could possibly evolve into a right winger if he gets better at passing. We all know his straight line speed is probably the fastest in the PL, so that should not be a problem. He just needs to improve his accuracy and he'll be a walcott x 5. Looking forward to this season. Its funny how a few good signings change the way we feel.... No modric is not the end of the world, Instead we get oscar hazard marin debruyne and i still have hope for kakuta, he can be a higly skilled malouda type of super sub for us.
  13. Hulk will definitely come to Chelsea. Forget all speculation , twitter rumors. Roman has proven again and again, that when he wants players, he keeps bidding till he gets them. Torres, Modric are prime examples. We didnt get modric cuz levy is an ass, but Porto have to please their shareholders, so they will sell at the right price. The problem is that while any other club would have bid and negotiated, there would have been a possibility of getting the deal done at about 32 mill. But Roman is a victim of his own past actions, and Porto will be looking at the Modric Saga last year knowing that we are not a no nonsense club.....and our owner has billions....and likes spending them.
  14. I think its Torres not wanting to see the penalty , just the same way Shweinsteiger was not looking at the pen and was facing his goalie. Means nothing. Big occasion, big pressure.
  15. Its starting to get exciting all of a sudden with these first training session images of Hazard, de bruyne and marin practicing, as well as some of our players who returned from loan. Wasnt too sure or didnt really care about benayoun, but after seeing that video and seeing him in the chelsea shirt again, if he makes it into our foreign player allotment, then he will be a good player to have off the bench.
  16. Not really feedback, but over the last month, i think there might be a problem with the cookies, as in some threads it takes me to where i last left it, while in many other threads, it almost always starts off on the first page. Anyone else experiencing this?
  17. who cares how much he costs.... as long as he comes and gives his all for the cause, thats great.... We might be overpaying but in an overhaul, there are never perfect scenarios.... so chill and enjoy your own avenger. The deadliest one.
  18. In my opinion, there are two options and both are good, We keep him and his experience and passion for Chelsea will continue. We sell him and that allows our club to move on to a newer style of football, different and more equal dressing room atmosphere, as well as one less old guard ego to contend with. That also depends if we can land someone like Modric to take over. The americans will pay a premium for him, unlike other european clubs, and since its the american adventure, he might just go. I know he is a legend, but that does not mean he must retire here.... even if we sell him now, which might just be good for us, considering there is a plan to change personnel and strategy, he will still be a chelsea legend. I really think there might he might get discontented this season with lack of playing time.... Everytime i think of a line-up, he's not there in it, so im scrambling to try and make space for him or try to make a formation work so that he can get in. Its the wrong way of doing it, and with the players that have/will come in , from a club perspective, we can make some money and also let him leave, but only to America. or China.
