1/7 means odds of 1.14 right? If you are betting the result on every premiership win on any given weekend, then might as well go on this site and put in a pound and select outcomes of all matches in a weekend, if you get it right, then you will get 45 percent of how much ever has been bet that week., http://www.soccermillionaire.com So if 10,000 people have bet, your return on a 1 pound bet will be 4500. Instead of throwing 10ers every week, bet 1 pound a week, and if you get all results right even once in 2 seasons, then your investment will be 76 pounds , while your returns will be 4500 pounds.... interesting isnt it.... im thinking about it.... Also, i dont know how many people are betting, so if there are, say 50,000 people who have bet a pound each, and you win, then you will get 24000 pounds or something....even more interesting....

almost tripled my money this weekend..... to be precise i made 25 pounds into 65... Over time i have realised that accumulators are the way to go forward and actually make money, that too only on draw no bet accumulators. Put 25 on a six fold accumulator, all draw no bets except a straight win for real against granada. Draw no bets - United,Newcastle,Totenham, City and Barcelona, with real madrid as the only straight win bet, If all teams won, then would have got back 50, but since newcastle and totenham drew, my total return was 35. Then put 10 pounds on another 6 fold accumulator, this time at odds of 3.5, again 3 draw no bets and 3 tennis bets, Draw no bets - Napoli,Benfica and Psg, all at home except PSG.... Tennis - Serena, Federer and Azarenka.... these were at low odds of 1.05 and similar Won the six fold without any draws, but since federer match was void as his opponent withdrew got a bit less, returns were 30.... All in all, good weekend, and i seemed to have picked up on an interesting format, where probability of winning is quite high, as most teams that are expected to win at home rarely lose, if anything they draw, which doesnt affect the accumulator much.... Earlier i used to try accumulators out of greed an go for Wins, and while the returns were very high, the Risk and probability of me losing was tremendous, and with betting, as everyone would know, it only becomes profitable if you dont have to keep investing again and again. With draw no bets, the odds become much lower, but i can spread the accumulator over a few leagues and matches where the probability of certain teams losing is extremely low, as low as 5-7 %, so that makes my probability of winning upto 90%. If they draw, my odds become lower but i dont lose the bet. Obviously that also means that i dont put all my money in 1 bet, as that is the highest risk scenario. Spreading risk and investments is key, with some accumulators at high risk, high return, with low investment, While other bets are low risk but with higher investment. Views anyone>? Are there any other markets, or bets that are likely to make money that i dont know of yet, or that you have mastered? Would love to share and know your strategies and results !

The Primary difference between AVB and his decisions of making players train away from the squad and RDM doing the same, is that while AVB did so with little to no communication with the rest of the squad, and the entire squad questioned his decision making skills and managerial skills, RDM has the players onside, and is very communicative and personal with the squad, therefore i expect RDM to have explained to the squad the exact reasons, whatever they are, for why malouda is not training with the 1st team anymore. Dont see any repeat of last season because of this, as if anything, RDM is an excellent man manager.

He really deserved the European Footballer of the year award this time. Sad to see Uefa/Journalists choosing their winner based on personality IMO. Yes, Ronaldo is not humble and his arrogance is unbelievable, but he is everything Madrid is, and has almost single handedly won them the league, and if not for penalties, could have possibly taken the CL last year as well. On the other hand, barca did not win much last year, Their version of FA cup maybe? Iniesta is a great player and is integral to Barca and Spain, but this year the bugger deserved to win. Thats why he is sad, as he probably knows, that Barca, the sweethearts of the press will always win over him.

did the first 14 questions correctly, then decided this is not worth 20 minutes of my life, even if i have nothing to do, this is like reading those letters in an eye test,,,,,

We were humiliated. Everyone keeps going on about how Lucky Chelsea were to win the CL, and that we did not deserve to win it. This was the chance to show that it was no fluke, and we CAN play football. Well evidently, on that front we were left wanting. Its a strange one, this result. It shows that there needs to be a balance between players who are skillful and pacy WITH the ball, and players who are skillful and pacy WITHOUT the ball. At this point in time, we have no one in our team who actually goes the extra mile to win back the ball, or pressurise the opponent. Thats where we lost the game, and will continue to lose games this entire season. This is not an attack on Mikel, but Mikel is the equivalent of Berbatov in terms of the effort and pressurising and pace of his game. Some people like that style and some dont. I dont think his Berbatov characteristics will ever make him into an enforcer, rather only a passive player. Lampard isnt a DM sort of player anyways, so he;s being played out of position. These two dont fit in their roles, and sadly we dont have others to fill those spots who will do the enforcing role for the team. Playing Ramires as a RW is simply a Joke. He doesnt offer enough defensively or Offensively. Every fan can see it, except RDM. The difference between playing Bertand as a LM/LW and Ramires as a RW/RM is that Bertrand fits into that role and does well defensively and offensively. Ramires does not. Torres doesnt work hard enough IMO. Im a huge Torres supporter, but it does annoy me that he does not close down players and give enough effort for the team. And he needs to stop sulking for half the game, specially towards the refs. RDM as a manager has to try and play with a formation which suits the players playing in them. This method applied where players are playing out of position only works for so long. Being honest, even RDM and we all know that Hazard has carried us for the first 3 games, so while 9 points looks good, RDM really has to look at the deeper problems and issues that have not been highlighted because we have posted 9/9 points on the board. It is better to fix something that is cracking rather than to wait for it to break, for us to lose 3 points, and then make the changes to the team. My main problem is that im not too fond of this 4-2-3-1 simply because the players in the 2 are not good enough for those two positions. Ramires on RW duty makes me want to tear my hair out. I simply do not understand it, unless we are playing Barcelona or someone where his main job is defense. Ramires RW against Wigan or Newcastle at home is weird. I did not like the idea of Bertrand at LW, but his quality and effectiveness in that position has won me over, so i welcome seeing his name in the teamsheet when it does. RDM must figure out his best formation, and if he truly believes it is a 4-2-3-1 when atleast get the right personnel for the Double Pivot and RW positions. Its not Rocket science to know that playing players out of position is never a long term solution. RDM should figure that out soon.

IMO Sturridge is not a world class striker and will never be. He will become quite good, but doesnt have the game to be the CF of any of the top teams in europe.(CL not europa) I like him as a winger, not as a Striker. He is a quality winger, who can develop into a WC winger if he progresses well in that position and becomes a team player, and passes. Rooney is a WC striker, and had the characteristics and talent at 21 or 18...however old he was when he joined united. Sturridge has trickery and pace, and the odd good finish with finesse. His characteristics are perfect for growing into a WC winger, not a striker. He is the type of player who WANTS and NEEDS playing time, preferably as a starter. We clearly cannot give that to him, atleast as a CF. So if he is sold, he should be sold to a club that is willing to make him the No. 1 CF. If we will sell him to another club where he is not a starter, but makes a huge difference when he comes on as a sub, then there is no point selling him, as he is a terrific impact sub for us already.
-
I understand he was their captain and did well for them, but how can he be a LEGEND when he left the club when he was only 23-24 years old?

Really sorry everyone! I know this is off topic but i only have a few hours to get rid of this confusion..... have posted in the betting thread as well.... I have reviewed your account and can confirm that you have successfully registered the promotion code FB50. To receive the free bet token for this promotion you will now need to place a win single bet for between £5 and £50 at odds of evens or higher. Well written article! I wonder though what will happen with Marin, now that we have had such a good start to the season, and with most players close to cementing their place in the starting 11. In pre season, the Big talking point for everyone was how Marin has been a revelation and will definitely command a starting spot come the start of the season. I also agreed and had the same opinion, that Marin, while most thought before preseason, would be a substitute, started looking like he would be in the starting lineup after the new dimension and skill he brought to the team. Now, we also have Oscar Moses and Sturridge competing for those midfield positions. While the season has had a great start, i think RDM will have alot of players to keep happy..... We all know he is a good man manager, but i think this will be his true test, keeping them happy rather than content. Hazard and mata will definitely occupy 2 Offensive midfield places almost every game, so that leaves only 1 spot for alot of talented players... Good start by RDM.... this could possibly be his breakthrough year as a manager.

I think you mean you used your weekly Free Transfer? Wildcard means you can change your entire team for free. You get two per season. If you still have used the Wildcard, then disregard what i just said...... just making sure!
-
Just incase you are new to this, use your wildcard...

The Spurs boss was almost left red-faced when he tried to send on a FOURTH sub after his side’s goal. lol

Arsenal fans want Van Persie to break his leg or get injured. Cant imagine us wanting Joe Cole to BREAK HIS LEG! And then they call us Plastics and all that. Fickle bunch of pathetic supporters. He gave them 8 years, right until the last years of his prime. One day he is their hero, the next, the most useless player on earth who should break his leg or get badly injured. Wow.
-
I hope Yaya Toure is sent off. He is pathetic.

Mikel has the talent, something that he had even 2 years ago, He isnt consistent enough imo. Today he had a good performance, as did the whole squad. Just because he was on top form today doesnt mean he can Now be compared to what Essien used to be week in week out for more than a few years consistently, I dont think he will ever be able to be a chelsea great, or even leave a stamp on that position when he leaves. Taking nothing away from his performance today, but for all those claiming that he is something of a World class DM and directing witty remarks at those who do not rate him as highly as yourselves.... calm down, theres a whole season to go to evaluate and analyse each and every player. Kudos to Mikel for Today, and i wish him the best to replicate such assured performances over the course of the season, whether he will or not is still uncertain.
-
This Line-up is defensive. Very suited to a drogba type of CF. Dont think Torres will thrive with this setup today . A tired Mata. Mikel.Meireles and Bertrand. Then again, Hazard cannot carry us every game. Lets see if he can do it 3 times in 1 week.
-
If this does go through, then i have absolutely no idea why we have bought victor moses. But it wont, as it is bad business. Its bad business not because of his price, but because we have bought victor moses, and have a few players on loan coming back next season. If we buy any more players this transfer window, player disharmony is a certainty. We need to calm down. Great Transfer window. Lets not overdo it.
-
Hoping for a win today. I know we will score, it all depends on how our defense and DM'S cope with Newcastle, as if We are not on top form defensively, Newcastle's quality will punish us. I really think due to our defense not being great in the last 2 games, we really would have got punished if we were playing Newcastle/totenham type of a team instead of reading/wigan. Now today we are playing Newcastle, and while we will score goals, if our defense is as disjointed as the last 2 games, i can see a draw or even a loss as a possibility. However, we still are favourites.

#1-Do you worry about having Torres as your main striker with little cover? Should Drogba have been offered the contact he wanted? Not at all worried about Torres, his movement was superb last season, but couldnt finish to save his life.... Now with our new bunch of talented players, he will have more chances. His movement has not been as good as last season, but has managed to get the goals. As long as he scores the goals demanded from a CF, no worries. In any case, Drogba scored 13 goals last season and Torres scored 11. This season Torres has already got 2 goals in 3 games, and unlike last season, i can only see that statistic getting better. Drogba had to go for our playing style to change, and it is for the greater good that he left. He is a Legend none the less. #2-What do you make of all the young, talented Attacking Midfielders you have all vying for 3 places in the team? Does it worry you that this may lead to some disharmony between those who miss out and the manager? Again, nothing to be worried about, as we have alot of games this season, and apart from our top 6 of oscar hazard mata marin sturridge and now moses, all the other players are not in contention IMO, such as malouda benayoun etc. So rotation will be key, and all 6 will have enough oppurtunities to make their claim to the available places. Hazard already has. Lampard will not play every game this season, so Oscar/Essien can fit into that role. #3-If you were to have a joint NUFC / Chelsea team, which Newcastle players (if any) would you pick over your first teamers? Tiote/cabaye over mikel anyday. Would have picked Cisse, but our formation does not allow 2 CF's. I believe in Torres, unlike the hate club we have on here. Ben Arfa as well, he is your prized possession and i really think next summer you will have alot of european clubs bidding for him. I actually cant believe Newcastle has managed to hold on to ALL of its players.... good management by your club. #4-Do you think Di Matteo has bought responsibly, or has he been focusing too much on 'attractive' players? In other words, would you rather have seen some of the £50+m spent on Oscar, Hazard etc. bring in some replacements/back-ups for John Terry or Bosingwa? Well we have brought in a replacement for bosingwa in azpicueleta. As for Terry, we have Luiz Cahill and Ivanovic who are natural to that position. Its very easy to nitpick and say we have bought attractive players, but we needed a change in club philosophy after the last decade, and we really needed such flair players, to avoid a repeat of last season, and to challenge for the title again. #5-Which Newcastle player are you most fearful of and why? Ben Arfa. I know Cisse can finish really well and is capable of some spectacular strikes, but Ben arfa is the guy the cuts through the opposition midfield and atleast takes 3 players out of the game by his pace and trickery and skill. He is by far your best player. #6-Do you think Di Matteo will take Chelsea to the next level (I.e. challenging for the title with the Manchester clubs)? Sure. He has Man management skills and has a Chelsea heart. He has great motivational skills, and as much as being tactically brilliant is supposed to be the most important thing for a manager, i dont think so. He is tactically good, not genius, but he has balls and guts to make the important decisions at the right time. He has made every Chelsea player better, Torres confidence higher, and has reinvigorated Bertrands career. Now when Bertrand is picked, us supporters are not worried. RDM showed faith in him and allowed him to flourish, as he does with all players in my opinion. He is smart. Would be great at Poker. Cheers.

I have absolutely no Kalou what you;re talking about, but since it matas, and is potentially a hazard, im going to double cech the post, and stop writing such storres.
-
I have Guthrie - reading - in midfield (bench), not going to do special stuff but gets 90 mins so 2 points assured. He takes free kicks so there is always a chance of some extra points. He could have replaced hazard but i also have joe cole injured....so im screwed unless he is back for week 3. So if Joe cole is back for week 3 and hopefully fit enough to start, then im good for a 4-4-2 while keeping hazard and torres in subs.... Defensively i made a howler in terms of my choices.... while choosing i thought they were a decent call as it worked last season. I have 3 stoke players, Fabio and Mcartney -westham,,,, Week 3 Stoke has Wigan, so i think i should be fine defensively.... Will just have to wait for this weekend game results to see how much i will need to risk overall. Lastly, off topic, but swansea's next 5-6 fixtures are really good, so if week 2 doesnt go too well for me, i might think of the wildcard.
-
This post goes out to anyone who has 3 Chelsea players in their Squad, or even 2..... How are you guys going about Week 3? I could have removed Mata and replaced him with some other teams player, but could not resist replacing him with Hazard, as i feel he will finally score a goal against newcastle at home, if not, he will still get assists. Additionally i dont think mata will play against newcastle so had to replace him. So i will have 1 free transfer for week 3, which i will replace cech. But will still have Hazard and Torres, but not playing week 3 matches. Is it worth losing 8 points to change these players? From a betting perspective, the risk return says that losing 8 points to get 2 new players for week 3..... the probabilities are that these 2 new players will not get/ or will just about get 8 points. If they do get more, by scoring or by assists, then it could go to maybe 10-12 points. The chances of making 12-13 points after losing 8 points is about 20%, while the chances of making less than 8 points is 70%, and the chance of making 20+ points is 10% Sorry for so many numbers, but what do you guys think.... I cant decide whether the risk is worth it for only 1 week, as i will want to get them back into the team from week 4, and if i remove all 3 - 1 free transfer and -8 for the other 2, then i will also have to get them in over week 4-6, and possibly if i want them in sooner, not over 3 weeks, then sacrificing another -4 points to get them in faster. Tough call to make, think maybe some others with 2-3 chelsea players might have the same issue?
-
haha SO true. Quite funny really. People dont want him to do well. The drogba example is perfect. "Drogba may not have done too much in the game, but when it mattered most, he scored. LEGEND." He is a legend, but Torres did exactly that yesterday, but he was crap, and it was offside, lucky goal,,,, OMFG, give him a break. Many here were saying that this is a make or break season for torres this season, and i agreed, but now that he is making rather than breaking, people are hellbent on rubbishing him already. This is a make or break SEASON, not 3 games, in which it just happens to be that hes got 2 goals already.
