José never really used Sheva properly anyway. Lotss of sub on and off and lots of games on the wing. I think he did that just to spite Roman. Poor Sheva.

Heskey is big. Heskey is a #9. Are we signing Heskey?
-
Not now. But back eight years ago yes. Robben is a very different player now to what he used to be. I recall he worked much harder at Chelsea than at Real Madrid or Bayern. He is very lazy now.
-
Fuck that. My image is my mine alone and I will not be whored out by some fat cat company.

@The Skipper, I'm intrigued into knowing why you want Darren Bent. He is rather quick and is a good finisher but isn't he at the level of say Jermain Defoe? Hasn't he had injury problems?
-
Oscar is just potent in the final third to throw him in the middle of the park. Cabaye and Moutinho aren't the biggest blokes around but at least they are bigger than Oscar. Besides, we know their defensive capabilities and I'm not too sure on Oscar's. Sure he works hard but that's different to being able to intercept and tackle well.
-
But who should be dropped to facilitate him? I think if he is bought he should be played the postion that he excels in which seems to be further up the pitch.
-
Or Drogba. I think he has more silverware winning goals than any Chelsea player ever. Okay. First off, hypotheticals can go to hell. The 'offside goal' that Drogba scored against ManUtd that won us the 09/10 Premier League. Winning and only goal against ManUtd in the 06/07 FA Cup Final. The equaliser against Everton in the 08/09 FA Cup Final. The winning and only goal against Pompey in the 09/10 FA Cup Final. The second and eventualy winning goal against Liverpool in the 11/12 FA Cup Final. The equalising goal and winning penalty against Bayern Munich in the 11/12 Champions League Final. The only two goals scored against Arsenal in the 06/07 League Cup Final. The only two goals scored against Arsenal in the 04/05 Community Shield. Nobody has scored in more FA Cup finals the Drogba. Nobody has scored in all of the FA Cup Final appearances except for Drogba. First African to score 100 League goals.

Cabaye and Moutinho do get stuck in, they'll win less headers and aren't as strong but they can make just as many tackles and interception as Fellaini. If I'm not mistaken Cabaye has one of the best averages for tackles and interceptions in the league as well as some great attacking stats. Cabaye is great defensivly and I think people underrate him because he isn't a hulking mass of muscle and power like Tioté, Fellaini, Viera, Essien etc.
-
Good for Osman. He should have more. Jag and Baines are class too.
-
It wasn't really an analysis though was it? I never once called it an analysis. It was just a brief look at statistics. When looking at goals during a match compared to after it's a completely different thing. I was merely stating that if you take away his goals without going further into the actual matches nothing much changes. I was merely pointing out that there aren't many games where Torres scored that one winning goal, say in a 1-0 victory over a team like Man Utd. I guess though, most people missed the point I was trying to make, though I probably did not elaborate very well in the original post. And yes you are right it would be four points dropped. A bit of a mind lapse that one.

I was never really a fan of him playing there. Go figure. He is just kind of (really) big and bullies people that's it. He isn't a great passer or anything, which is what I want. Cabaye and Moutinho are the perfect examples of the midfielder I really want.
-
No thank you. Everton can keep him. Well let's see; he has been playing in a very foward position this season and people want to play him as a DM based on those performances? He also said that he thinks he is best as a DM. Well, I think I'm better than Messi. Just because you feel it doesn't mean it's there.

I wouldn't be able to control myself with such money. My impulse control would be shot.

I can hypothetical too. How do you know Chelsea wouldn't have won those games 5-0 without Torres? Can you prove that? No you can't. Can you prove that someone would not have scored? No. ANd here is another: What if Torres never signed in 2010, what if we won the Premiership and the Champions League with Carlo? What if, what if, what if, I don't give a fuck about what ifs. I wasn't talking about fucking hypothetical situations was I? I was approaching the game on a purely mathematical basis. I am not here to argue about bullshit what ifs. You my friend are trying to rationalise something as chaotic and unpredictable as the future by saying things like: "scoring at HT to give a some breathing space was the perfect time to score and virtually ended Newcastle's chances of getting back into the game." Please tell me how you know this. How do you know that Newcastle's chances were ended there? How? How do you know that Newcastle's chances to win the game were ended there? I can continue repeating myself if you so desire. Oh, if I might add you contradict yourself quite well by saying this beforehand: "How do you know if Torres never put us 2-0 up right on HT against Newcastle that they wouldn't have got back into the game and got an equalizer?" You start by questioning me about knowing things I can not possibly know but follow up with a statement you can not prove or disprove, but you seem pretty sure about it's authenticity. "and had he not scored that goal we never would have got the fourth as their keeper wouldn't have come up to try to score an equalizer." Again how do you know this? How do you know that Chelsea would not have scored four goals? It's entirely possible that 5 goals could have been scored, is it not? "The only time you can say a goal wasnt important is if your team is 4-0 up and someone scores a 5th and none of his goals have been like that they have all been important and swung all those matches our way." Is this true? I suppose that is why there is no such things as comebacks? Mistake me if I'm wrong but did Newcastle not come from four goals down to tie with Arsenal in the 09/10 season? Hitherto, I'm was debating statisitcs and maths while you concern yourself with hypothetical scenarios; which have nothing to do with the point I was trying to make.

Mate, it's German for "the Torres, the".

Sometimes I when I turn to pray to Mecca like that billionare Saudi prince, I pray for Mourinho to be fired by Perez amongst other things. I bet he prays for another cavier sandwhich with nonalcoholic champane that he can eat and drink from a virgin's thighs.
-
It's hardly a manipulation. It's right there! He has not been crucial to the team at all this season! I wouldn't mind him scoring so few goals as long as they were important ones. 10 winners against teams like Arsenal, ManUtd, ManCity and Tottenham are worth more than a a hattrick against QPR when you've already put five past them.

Tribal Sports are reporting it...but you know Tribal Sports...

4-2 win against Reading. Torres scored 1. 2-0 win against Newcastle. Torres scored 1. 2-1 win against Arsenal. Torres scored 1. 4-1 win against Norwich. Torres scored 1. 3-1 loss against West Ham. Torres assisted 1. 3-1 win against Sunderland. Torres scored 2. Take way his goals and assists we would have exactly three less points. Torres has won us one point this season. And who knows someone else might have scored that penalty against Sunderland so it's debatable if that even counts. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/24257/fernando-torres?cc=3436

Monsieur Cabaye is one of my favourite midfielders in the world at the moment. He has been so since I saw him destory Man Utd at St. Jame's Park last season. It's a shame that he injured right now because if I could sign one player in January it would be him. But I doubt he would leave Newcastle in January anyway. However I do find it strange that Tioté has more long passes than Cabaye, but I suppose less of them would have been key passes.

@SeB, and the Right Back was nameless. Condemed to a life and death of anonymity. Here lies the Unkown Right Back. He gave his life, his body, his everything for our right to have clean sheets.

I'm hoping that Azpilicueta or Mata can grow into a leader. I don't think Luiz wants to be a leader of the club. I think he sees himself more as the relief, the guy that picks up the team when they are feeling down with a few jokes and generally keeps things all smooth. That in itself is a great thing to able to do but I don't think it lends itself to be a leader. I think leader has to keep a calm head and has to be at least tacticaly competent, they need to be the guy that organises everything from setpiece's to falling back to defend. If only the calmness and steadiness of Cahill and the bombastic and sociable personality of Luiz could be fused.

You sir have insulted my honour. I challenge you to a duel; pistols at dawn.
