  1. Watch us draw Villa in one of the cup campaigns
  2. It's hard to dislike the new home kit. After all, it is just a blue shirt, really; nothing wrong with a blue shirt. I just wish the collar stood, why not make it yellow or white?
  3. I think he's an abysmal GK but who cares. Hopefully we don't have to use him often.
  4. That's not true. Lukaku's contract at Everton is running for another 2 years (until 2019).
  5. Nah, Mikel's passing was one of the finest and most precise passing games I've ever seen. He didn't play many long balls per game but when he did I don't think I ever saw him misplace one. Mikel should have been used like Kroos is being used at Madrid. As for Matic, I don't think anything has changed since the beginning of the season. We knew he should be a squad option rather than starter and we also knew that one of Kante/Matic would need to be benched in order for us to compete with the best teams on a regular basis. Only a few of us expected Kante to be this good though, so naturally Matic is the odd man out of the starting-11.
  6. Conte, Kanté, Conti. Math checks out, this makes sense.
  7. His English is still better than Costa's though, for what that's worth
  8. Hazard's solo-run goal vs Arsenal. Dude took on half of Arsenal's team and sent Coquelin back to North London.
  9. 2004/05. I didn't know at the time how big of a deal winning the title that season was since I had only started supporting Chelsea the year before but man, without 2005 there is none of today's Chelsea. The importance, the dominance, the statement of that season will ring FOREVER. 2016/17. This one's still fresh in all our memories, don't really need to say much more other than: the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. 2009/10. Probably my favorite Chelsea team: Cech, Riccy, JT, Ash, Alex, The Bison, Lamps, Drogs, Kalou, Malouda, Mikel, Brane, Anelka, Ballack, Paulo, Belletti. Watching those guys dominate one last time before our decline was something else. It felt like the team had finally embraced its offensive potential. Witnessing that 2009/10 season opened my eyes to how much potential this club really has which will probably spoil any future title we don't win in style. 2005/06. The magnitude of winning back-to-back titles is still something hard to grasp. It says it all how underappreciated this season is by my ranking here. The main reason for me for a ranking this title so low is probably our unfortunate exit from the CL that year which tainted the season as a whole (which sounds absolutely ridiculous, I know). 2014/15. Had we continued playing the way we did in the first 3 months of that season until the very end this title would probably be ranked higher. Alas we didn't, we played unbelievably frustrating football for the last 4 months, too many times I didn't feel confident in us winning. Something was missing and it became clear the season afterwards.
  10. Batshuayi is definitely not a poacher. The way he roams around the box to find space and position himself for either a give-and-go or a hold-up sequence so he can turn and shoot himself is the sign of a complete striker.
  11. A former Marseille-striker scoring when it matters and getting the title-clinching goal? It was written in the stars
  12. I've never seen a player produce so many foul throw-ins in a season. Not even close to the amount of Moses. In fact, I don't know a single player who has done that more than once
  13. Fucking kudos to Batshuayi. He wasn't anything special today but he gave us a chance to win instead of making us look like playing with 10 men. That's good enough (for now) for me considering how this season has panned out for Batshuayi so far.
  14. If Ake was 5 cm taller it'd be no question at all if he should be starting. He's got that Azpilicueta-esque tackling ability and tenacity on top of his great technical qualities. I'm still not sure you can get away with Ake and Cesar in a back-3 on a weekly basis but he did unbelievably well today. I don't think any of us can even imagine the pressure of playing in a semi-final at Wembley months after your last appearance.
  15. The fuck? What superiority? If Real had converted half their chances Bayern would have lost each game by 4 goals. The only thing that kept them in for so lang was Neuer being Neuer, the rest of their team showed fuck all. It speaks volumes that Bayern's two goals today were the product of a missed offside call and a gift of a penalty.
  16. I've wanted Claudio at Chelsea for years now. It won't happen though, he's a Torino boy for life.
  17. I don't trust Willian to create anything so all our hopes lie in a random Pedro curler or a Costa deflections.
  18. Yeah, I've had better predictions in the past
  19. With Hazard out there is still no way Willian AND Pedro will start together against a PL team. It'll be a 3-5-2 with Fabregas in midfield for sure.
  20. Mikel's one of the finest passers of the ball this club has seen.
