Yeah that is a concern and also he is not really good in the air. So i do wonder at times if he is better suited on the wings or as a striker. But i think if he was a lone striker he would be more like a false 9, where he would drop back a lot and play to his strength. Kinda like a Messi role with Barca. So obviously he wouldn't be your conventional striker, and that may be a good thing.

I think Hazard has no preference for the wings or CAM, he is playing as a CAM because his team need him there. I hope we sign Hazard and move Sturridge in the center.
-
Yeah why is Cech even getting nominated, he should've saved the game winner. Cech has been excellent all season but yesterdays game was not one of them. On topic: Sturridge, one of his best games out wide. Before Sturridge can lead the line and be our starting Striker we need someone to replace him on the wings.
-
Krasic is average mostly, we can do a lot better then him. He is a upgrade over Malouda and Kalou, but that is not saying much.
-
Yes because Josh can run a three man midfield by himself. Just because we have Josh, that doesn't mean we don't need any other midfielders. Barca fans rate Sergi Roberto very highly, even higher then Romeu.
-
Cool story bro! Scolari inherited one of the most talented Chelsea squad ever, they were a penalty away from wining the ultimate prize in europe. This squad is the worst side in the Roman era.
-
We have a lot of average players and that is what sticks out the most. Yeah AVB has made some mistakes, but he had no fault in the two goals that was scored against us. He was definitely not Mikel who lost possession of the football which led to the first goal. Also the second goal happened on a simple long ball, Cole and Terry should have made a routine tackle. Fact is the players are not up to the standard where went to be. Players like Mikel, Ramires, Cole, Malouda, Drogba, Torres, and Terry are either past it or just not good enough for the level we want to be.
-
I agree Torres and higuain are very similar to each other, which is why i don't think he would succeed here. Benzema is the Madrid striker i think would best fit us.
-
Daniele De Rossi is a great player and playing great football this season., but seriously who would believe he is worth 70m? especially after the crap year he had last season.
-
After having brainless wingers like Malouda and Kalou for so many years, i would have to pass on Di Maria.
-
Di Maria is arguably Mourinho favorite player, he will always have a place on his squad. I am personally not a fan of Di Maria, he is talented but he is a headless chicken. And his consistant diving is absolutely embarrassing.
-
Kaka and Sneijder are CAM's, we have been playing 4-3-3 flat for a very long time and under AVB i don't think that is going to change. The reason why we went after Modric instead of Sneijder is because he was a CM and fitted our system more. AVB wants CM's not CAM's, he wants his midfielders to attack and defend.
-
Beside Josh, none of them can provide creativity.
-
He is Barca type midfielder, but you really think Barca would be interested in him? Barca are stacked at midfield, currently they have Xavi, Iniesta, Csec, Busquets, and Thiago. Thiago is the same age as Eriksen and arguably better. In Barca B they have have a great group of incoming midfielders, with Rafa Alcantara and Sergi Roberto. Rafa is considered a better prospect then his older brother, which is saying a lot.
-
LOL Benzema can play on the wing, he is a complete forward. I don't know how much have you seen of Benzema. And no Mourinho does not always play Ronaldo and Di Maria on the wings, he rotates his players. Seen Ozil, Higuain, Benzema and even Kaka at some point playing on the wings. Watch the second leg of the Spanish super cup against Barcelona, where Benzema was Real Madrid best player and most dangerous player on the left wing.
-
Cavani is similar to Torres in many ways, his situation would not be any different. Beside even though Cavani is on better form, i don't think there is a much difference between Cavani and Torres. lets not forget about Sturridge, he can also play as a striker. On Lukaku, i was against his signing from the beginning and so far it seems like i was right. So i agree with you on this. I don't rate Hamsik that highly, he dispears too much in Napoli big games. Cavani was great last season, but lets see what he does this season. Lavezzi is the Napoli player i rate highly, he was by far their most important player when they finished 3rd.
-
It is insane how many renowned strikers we have had since Roman arrived.
-
agreed imagine this attack: ---------------------Torres--------------------- Hazard------------Mata--------------Sturridge Hulk is a great player, i have no doubt he will be immense wherever he goes in the future. Personally i think he is better as a Striker then a winger. He is just not the player we need at the moment.
-
Torres 50m Lukaku 20m That is 70m together, moar strikers?
-
Are you guys aware that Sturridge has only been a regular in the starting squad for less then a year, and that is including his time at Bolton. And he hasn't even played half of a season as a winger, and you guys already saying he can't make it there or he has not future at Chelsea. Really absurd. Sturridge has done well this season, there are few wingers who has had a better season then him in the PL. His problem is consistency and decision making, and that is going to improve with experience. Once he gets more comfortable on the wing the game will slow down for him, which will lead to better decisions.
-
He has done well, and he played decent today. Yeah he can play better, but things going to take time when he is making a transition into a winger. Just like our high line defense, it is just going to take time. I have no doubt on both end things going to improve.

so much knee jerks.

I thought Ramires was ok overall at Copa America, but i would definitely say he was not one of the best. He was poor at times and his passing let him down way to many times. Overall Brazil was pretty bad tbh, so a lot of blame would go around. As i said most of my mates and other Brazilians had issues with Ramires, since they felt hernanes should've been there instead of him. You have to understand Ramires is pretty much an exception when think of Brazilian footballers. He is not flashy or attacking orrianted like most Brazilian players. Which is why i think he is underrated by them. Ramires has been very effective this season for us. Give AVB a lot of credit he is getting the best out of him and he recognizes Ramires strength and weakness. This season Ramires is a lot less involved in our build up and see a decrease in touches compared to last season. While Lampard has been a lot more involved in our build up. He is been effectively used and the 4-3-3 is better suited for him.
-
Problem with that is brazil plays a variation between 4-2-3-1 and 4-2-2-2. They played Ramires and Lucas together and their midfield looked very stagnant, it is a very defensive midfield. You cannot play Ramires is a lone holding midfielder and you would give up a lot of creativity if you play him along a holding midfielder. Kinda of a paradox, especially considering how poor Ganso was at Copa America and is little help defensively.
