  1. City have Tevez, Balotelli, Aguero, and Dzeko. United have Rooney, Welbeck, Berbatov, and Chicharito. In other words, people who are saying we're "set" at striker with Torres, a talented but flawed Sturridge, and a 19 year old who has next to ZERO Premier League experience, are simply wrong. With Lukaku almost certainly going out on loan, I think we'll almost certainly bring another goal scoring forward in.
  2. Yeah, I'm not really a Torres slappy and I'd feel bad if he struggles again, but I just won't feel super confident if we went into the season with only him and Sturridge as our options up front. Its sad to say, but I think the only way Cavani can be brought in is if Sturridge is shipped to a club like Spuds or Liverpool who are willing to pay large fee's and are desperate for a player in his mold. We could use that cash to partially fund Cavani/Falcao/whoever.
  3. People constantly saying this would unsettle Fernando and that he'd puss out and withdraw into his turtle shell again if we brought in another top striker. What if it had the opposite effect and made him more confident? He could take more chances and risks knowing he doesn't have to be the one shouldering the load up front on his own. He may flourish with a Cavani or Falcao partnered with him and it could alleviate some of the immense pressure that his transfer fee has on him.
  4. Mata looks like he weighs about 80 lbs as well. He did fine. Players like David Silva and Modric are tiny, too.
  5. Don't see how they could possibly afford him. They'd have to use every bit of the money from Modric's transfer fee, and even then, they couldn't afford his wages.
  6. Nope. Kits.I would take the kid Ox, though.
  7. Arsenal has.....nice kits. Sorry, that's the only positive thing I can say about them.
  8. You have no excuses now, Neymar! You can leave Brazil for London and still feel right at home. Barca in blue? Fuck that. Brazil in blue.
  9. Good thing about living in the Eastern time zone of the USA. It's mid-day in London when I wake up, so I can usually get some juicy news right away.
  10. Hulk will be dying to come here even more seeing yet another compatriot move to Chelsea. Oscar should get into his ear during the Olympics about putting in a transfer request.
  11. Hmmmm "Brazilian Football Confederation personnel confirmed that Oscar was released for the medical - Feeling is he has already signed for Chelsea"
  12. This is about the third time this deal is "100% done," so I'll wait for a "We're delighted to announce the signing of Oscar" tweet from Chelsea FC to get excited.
  13. Daily Mail now saying we've bid £27m for him. I'd sincerely hope we wouldn't go anywhere NEAR that price. Not worth a penny over £15m, in my opinion. Their fool of an owner thinks he's worth more than Hazard. Get the fuck out of here. That kind of money is reserved for world class players. The vast majority of fans have never even heard of Willian.
  14. The game airs on ESPN here in the States, so I'd imagine they'll be streaming it via their website, too.
  15. Don't know why people keep bringing up his age. He's 20 now and will turn 21 early in the season in September. Same age as Eden Hazard.
  16. So no Modric, Hulk too expensive, Moutinho wants Spurs, and Oscar and Shurrle's clubs refuse to sell for the prices we've offered. Hopefully this doesn't mean we'll have to settle for average players like Willian, Walcott, or Moses as alternatives.
  17. Lukaku looks like a giant standing next to Eden.
  18. As much as I'd love this, I just don't think it's likely at all. We're absolutely loaded in midfield, and with Oscar seeming likely, don't see how he'd get much if any game time. Lamps, Meireles, Romeu, Mikel, Ramires, and maybe Oscar. Who's he going to displace?
  19. I'm pretty confident with this squad being much better than last season's, but do we honestly think we've improved enough to make up 25 points or whatever it was? There's still work to be done in terms of signings. 2-3 more additions and 2-3 more departures, hopefully. Just can't imagine we'll be seeing Malouda in a blue shirt come the season opener. He's one who must go. Yossi and possibly Essien too.
  20. They're trying to bring in Andy Carrol, remember? He'll more than make up for the absence of Ibra!
  21. King Carlo probably falls asleep laughing his ass off every night knowing that all he has to do is name a player and they'll buy 'em.
  22. Telegraph reporting that Madrid have offered £40m+. That should be the end of this saga.
  23. Did Milan not just turn down €45m for Silva alone? Why would they accept €65 for Silva and one of the most expensive strikers on the planet? Sounds kind of puzzling to me.
