Agreed.Just hope we don't wait too long on the striker front or all of the top targets will be gone. Say some of these rumors are true and Cavani goes to City/Madrid, Higuain goes to Arsenal, and Jovetic goes to Juventus. Who would we have left to go after? I'm confident Lukaku will be a beast next season but I just don't wanna be stuck with Torres again.
I'm just imagining their potential team next year and am MUCH more worried about them than I am United. Navas, Fernandinho, and potentially Isco and another top class striker in addition to a side that already bullied and handily dominated us at times. Also with a manager who now who actually has some man management skills. Not good. Not good at all.
He's gonna be one of the best players in the league straight away I think. If City sign him up soon they'd have done some EXCELLENT business and done it quickly like we should be doing. Wouldn't be surprised if they spent £100m before we even make another signing. Just hope Cavani doesn't go there either or I don't see anyone winning the league but them.
Fuck OFF, Napoli! Seriously, I'm beggining to think Rafa Benitez is sitting next to the owner and saying "decline!" to all of our bids in order to give City or Madrid the chance to buy him.
Stop pussyfooting around with these bids. If these reports are true, we've bid 49m, then 50m, and now 52m. If we're seriously this interested and he's our top, top target just pay near or at the clause. Before Madrid or City do.
He was one of Serbia's best player against Belgium the other day. Nice pace and technical ability. It's nice that he's going to a top side on loan like Benfica rather than Vitesse or some Championship side. That should do him wonders.
Don't know why so many people here want to avoid Gomez like the plague. He's got a similar goal to game ratio as Cavani and would cost less than half the price. If he flopped it wouldn't be a financial disaster unlike with Cavani. We'd all rather have Cavani, but if we got Gomez on the cheap we could pour a shit load of investment into central midfield.
Given the ball away carelessly several times, poor corner, and tries to do too much on his own. He'd be a nice buy for a reasonable fee, but not anything over like £25m.
