We absolutely need another CB this month then. Or a defender of some kind. Because I never want to see Disasi playing in a blue shirt again.
-
Tbh, the only way I can see us bringing in anyone this month is if this terrible run of form we’re in continues this weekend and we panic buy someone. I just can’t see any big target of ours like Delap being available when Ipswich need him to have a chance of staying up. I can see a few fringe players leaving but in terms of incoming I’m not expecting anyone. Which may be for the best if we would just buy someone just to have an extra body. I’d rather buy nobody than another Disasi or Badiashile. If we look hopeless in the final third for the next couple of matches I wonder if the ownership will break the Osimhen glass and pay his release clause, though… 🤔

Feels like just yesterday we were 4 points ahead of Arse and they were panicking that Saka would be out long term. Now we’re in danger of them running away from us again…
-
True, the wages may be a no-go if he’s still asking for silly money. But I wonder how happy is is in Turkey playing in a league nobody cares about? He looks like he’s enjoying it well enough when I see clips of him scoring. But maybe he’d jump at the chance of coming to the PL if we tried again and lowered his demands? Who knows. I’d love Delap. Especially after what we saw from him yesterday. But Ipswich would guarantee their relegation if they sold him next month and he doesn’t seem like the sort of lad who would abandon them. But we BADLY need a striker with a totally different profile to Nico. I love the look of Guiu but he’s far too young and raw to be an important player in the league yet.

I wonder if it’s even a slim possibility we go back in for Osimhen or if that ship has sailed. He’s got a set price now, right?
-
Every single one of our attackers has gone completely off the boil simultaneously. Madueke started the season on fire and has been woeful for the most part since his supposed “coming out party” against Wolves with that hat trick. Sancho was really solid his first handful of matches but has now retreated into his shell. Neto tries hard at least but hasn’t been effective. Even Palmer has only really shown small flashes of quality during this shit run.
-
The most annoying thing about that game is that Ipswich did basically NOTHING as a team and won 2-0. Just Delap running around like a maniac by himself and bullying our CB’s single-handedly. They didn’t pass it around and press us like Fulham did, they didn’t smack in a hundred crosses and threaten from corners, they didn’t destroy us on the counter. They seriously just had 1 single striker running and hoping for a mistake from our defense and waiting to pounce. And we obliged.
-
The Chelsea of last season is well and truly back. They tricked us into thinking we genuinely turned a corner, but no. Dominate the run of play, can’t score to save our lives, and then utterly shambolic defending at the other end resulting in us being punished for EVERY little mistake. And this doesn’t look like a small blip, either. We well and truly have looked shattered and completely devoid of ideas out there these last 3 matches. ZERO attacking quality in the final third at all apart from the odd Palmer shot from distance. We’re in trouble now. Losing and failing to score against a side who have leaked goals all season, had ZERO wins at home, and 2 wins all season. Humiliating. What looked like a comfortable place in the top 4 before now looks like well fighting desperately just to scrape 4th by the end of the season.

The penalty decision and instant VAR check was absurd. Jorgensen avoided him well and Delap dangles his leg out behind him and drags it into the keeper. That’s never a pen.
-
Much as I was a fan of and was super excited when we signed Nkunku, he just doesn’t look right for this team. He just kind of casually jogs around doing hardly anything. He needs to be replaced next month if possible. Best for both parties. Replace him with an actual, natural striker. One who preferably runs their socks off and makes themself a menace like Delap has today.
-
Being terrorized by literally a SINGLE player.
-
You CANNOT be fucking offside there, ffs. Looking straight down the line.
-
Absolutely unacceptable performance once again. What the actual fuck are we doing?!
-
Btw, Maresca said I think BEFORE the Everton game that Lavia was just about ready to return. Then said before Fulham that he was doing great and almost ready. Now he’s out still. 🤬🤬🤬 Wtf is wrong with this kid?! He’s 20 years old and gets injured like he’s 40!
-
Fine with everything except for being nervous about Disasi at RB as usual. Felix & Nkunku HAVE to have big performances here. Show the manager why you deserve to be playing more.
-
Anselmino looks VERY promising. But I’m skeptical that he’s going to see much playing time this season. I think this is Maresca and the club wanting him to start training with the big boys for the second half of the season and getting him up to speed for next year. Nice little head start.
-
I definitely trust them if they choose Delap. He looks like someone who can be coached into a top striker.
-
Seeing rumors from Chelsea accounts on Twitter about Kolo Muani now… I remember him looking super promising and someone I was keen on before he went to PSG. But from everything I’ve heard he has been a massive flop there. Really hope we don’t make the mistake of brining in another striker who isn’t good enough. I much prefer the idea of Liam Delap.

We looked like we’d be comfortable top 4 finishers before this past week. Now, depending on tomorrow’s result, it could be a real fight that we could be dragged back into. That’s all I was saying. We could’ve effectively discounted all of these teams all the way down to Villa in 9th had we won against teams in Everton & Fulham who you’d expect a team of our quality and in the run of form we were in to beat. Shit, even if we had won one of those. Now we’re 1 more poor result away from those sides being able to reel us in. That was nearly unthinkable not long ago with the way we were going.
-
Just a few days ago we had the opportunity to go 10 points clear of City and more or less stop worrying about them at all. Now because of two shit results for us in the span of a week they’re just 4 points behind us now. Fail to beat Ipswich tomorrow and we go from sitting pretty in 2nd last week to being in a genuine fight for just top 4 again. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
-
Fuck the fuck off. Holiday and birthday ruined. Here is that wobble we all worried would happen.
-
Absolutely awful second half. We’ve been dominated.
-
We’ve allowed them to completely snatch control of the game after a solid start to the half. Can’t get Palmer or our attackers in the ball AT ALL so far second half.
-
We could have really used Lavia here, btw. Not that we’ve been troubled much in midfield so far but I mean more from a ball control perspective. With Enzo often pushing so far up it leaves Caicedo all alone in the middle where he is sometimes the only option for our CB’s to relieve pressure. Having Lavia in there too is such a help.
-
Fulham are really slick and confident on the ball. We absolutely must stay switched on at all times. They’re so aggressive on the ball in fact that they’re leaving a LOT of space for us to exploit on the break. Jackson and Neto need to sharpen up and we should create plenty more.
