  1. If we’re going to bring in another wide attacker I don’t know why we’d bring in yet another young talent like this when we’ve got Estevão and Paez to come next summer. I feel like any that we get now should be someone already established at the top level. I don’t think Doué is the level of player that’s going to come in and immedietly be an upgrade on the wide players some are already saying aren’t good enough.
  2. I know YouTube highlights are just that, highlights showing the best parts of a player, but Renato Veiga does genuinely look super promising in terms of raw talent and physical tools. Could be a hidden gem for a super cheap price if he can settle well. Just curious if that’ll be at LCB or competing with Cucu (and I guess Chilly?) in that inverted LB role.
  3. Seems Bayern are desperate to get back to “where they belong” and cruising to Bundesliga titles again. Feels like they’re going crazy this window. They’re not going to let Leverkusen or Dortmund have a sniff again for a while. Probably only a matter of time before they snatch away Wirtz.
  4. One is on a free and the other nearly 50m. And I don’t think de Ligt will be any better for United than Tosin is for us. Not saying he’s going to be some Thiago Silva level monster but I think better than the scrub you are predicting.
  5. He seems to only go after Dutch players or players that have some connection to the Dutch league. Onana, Zirkzee, de Ligt, Antony. Mount who he saw when he was on loan there, I’m sure. The ones they already have look like flops and the ones they’re about to bring in look bang average. As a rival to them for top 4 I’m glad to see them repeatedly do this kind of business and that they kept ETH.
  6. You love being the contrarian to literally everyone here, huh? Any time anyone here says anything positive you jump in and try to shoot it down. de Ligt has been bang average since he left Ajax. That’s just a fact. I don’t hear any Juve supporters saying they miss him at all and Bayern fans won’t either since they’re comfortably upgrading on him with Tah. If we were the ones trying to sign him now instead of United I’d be disappointed. I just don’t rate him as anything other than “okay.”
  7. Zirkzee looks like an excellent footballer but a mediocre striker/finisher. I predict he’ll be very underwhelming just like Hojlund was for them last season after all the hype. Both of them are decent but not top class. Their strikers don’t scare me at all.
  8. Think people are really underestimating the role Tosin and KDH will have. A lot of Chelsea fans seem to think they’ll be nothing but bench players. I think both are going to starters pretty much immediately. And I just have this feeling that both will be very good. I’m also VERY confident that Lavia & Nkunku in particular returning fit will have big seasons. Not really expecting anything from Fofana until I see him on the pitch. Just hoping for the best. I saw someone say either here on Twitter that the signings we’ve made like Tosin and KDH aren’t the type that will “take us to the next level” but they’ll raise our floor. I agree with that. We still need that killer finisher either in a forward or wide player and a top keeper to take us to the next level. Plenty of time left for the former but I think we’ll be waiting at least 6 months for the latter.
  9. My dream girlfriend is Sydney Sweeney. But I have as much of a chance at getting her as we do of getting Nico Williams.
  10. This journalist created and destroyed his own rumor within a fucking hour! 🤣🤣🤣
  11. Fits the “Swiss army knife” profile of player that it’s reported Maresca wants. Think he is versatile enough to play all across the attacking positions. But after the tournament he’s having and with such a low release clause I think there will be too much competition for him.
  12. I personally really like what I’ve seen from these training videos so far. This is the sort of coach I feel like we need. One who is like Pep or Arteta who are obsessive micromanagers and demand that the players do precisely what he wants. So one who will do a lot of actual coaching DURING MATCHES rather than just standing quietly in the touchline with their arms folded like Poch did. Poch seemed more like a figurehead sort of coach much like Mourinho surely is at this point. They have a general philosophy but the actual training and coaching is mostly done by his assistants. Poch prioritized work rate and running a lot. The hope is that Maresca prioritizes tactics, positional mastery, and quick thinking play. Which it appears he’s doing already.
  13. I’ve never really rated Rashford. Always thought he is massively overhyped due to being a United player. Don’t think he’s ever been near the level of prime Grealish when he was at Villa.
  14. Grealish is the classic case of a guy who has been more concerned about being a celebrity who is in a million ads and the face of a bj ch of brands than he is being a footballer. And a lot of people called him going to City a mistake because Pep’s rigid, robotic system wouldn’t suit a “maverick” sort of player like Grealish who likes to be more spontaneous and unpredictable. If he ever leaves it’ll surely be back to Villa.
  15. Can Dani Olmo be a possible solution for us? Or is he off to Barca?
  16. He seems super comfortable in Milan. Don’t think he’d want to leave there even if we suddenly decided to spend big on a keeper.
  17. People laugh at us and call our approach “scattershot.” But United have now bid for 3 different CB’s in 2 days. They have Lisandro as their LCB who they all claim is amazing and they’re close to buying De Ligt who you’d assume is a guaranteed starter as the RCB. So why are they bidding 50m for Branthwaite and Lenny Yoro?
  18. Thankfully cfbayern (Christian Falk) gets almost everything wrong and is clueless and he’s really the only person reporting us being after Adeyemi. Unless something comes from Ornstein, Law, or Fabrizio I’m going to ignore it.
  19. As for Adeyemi, he’s unbelievably rapid, is a great dribbler, is lethal when isolated in 1v1 situations, and has great work rate from what I’ve seen. But his end product and decision making are what let him down. That’s the biggest criticism I see of him from people who watch him regularly. His profile looks like a player who would be amazing in a PL team that sits deep and counter attacks constantly. Then you can maximize his insane pace as the other team turns the ball over on your side of the pitch. But we will be a side who dominates the ball and facing those low blocks. Will a player like Adeyemi even be effective in this scenario? I’m very skeptical.
  20. I guess the idea from the club is that with Marescaball where we’ll be playing with 3 in midfield all the times (thus giving us more control of the ball and territory) and also having Reece back & Cucu inverted in there for extra defensive help will paper over the weak goalkeeper? I don’t think the club genuinely feels like Sanchez is going to suddenly turn into Ederson or Allison, surely. At least I hope not. This feels like them wanting to get one last look at him until January to see if he improves considerably in a different system. If he doesn’t then we’ll get someone more suitable in the winter window.
  21. Someone we’ll likely never see in a Chelsea shirt.
  22. I still see people on my Twitter timeline posting quotes from Fabrizio saying “one of Cucu or Chilwell could leave.” Why is the idea of Cucu leaving at this point even a discussion? In this system with an inverted fullback Cucu is tailor made for that role. He HAS to stay. Can you even imagine if we sold Cucu and kept Chilwell? When Cucu has finally shown the form that made us spend an absurd amount on him?
  23. I honestly can’t picture Gallagher leaving the PL. If he goes it feels like he’d want to stay in this league and play with a chip on his shoulder for us getting rid of him.
  24. Chilly can be a good attacking fullback for someone still but he’s always going to be a liability defensively. And he’s always injured. Don’t know how I’d feel about selling him to United though, tbh. Depends on the fee.
  25. Caicedo’s quotes really go a long way in confirming why Gallagher was such a Poch favorite. He’s not a great technical player but he runs around a lot. It seems like Poch wanted to win games by basically being more physical and athletic than the opposition rather than being technically or tactically superior.
