  1. Fabrizio says that nothing has changed with Osimhen. 🤷‍♂️ We’re still interested but only if Napoli change the asking price or terms of a loan.
  2. If the move were close surely it’s pointless flying back to London? What’s to negotiate at this point? They already agreed to pay the £33m and had all the paperwork ready.
  3. Sounds like Atleti did to us what we did with Omorodion. Everything done and ready and then they backed out at the last second.
  4. Not convinced Toney would excel here. And the idea that this board would sanction £60m for a 28 year old seems super far fetched. I was open to the idea when we were first linked with him months ago but I think I’ve grown skeptical that he could step up from Brentford to a top club.
  5. Matt Law says that Gallagher definitely is flying back to London today. So yeah, that shit is dead. So I guess Conor is staying at the club then. Where and when he’ll play I have no clue since we’re so stacked in midfield.
  6. Man, how do we still not have clarity on Gallagher… 😑
  7. The £50m thing sounds like bullshit to me. There’s no chance we pay that much. Deal seems all but dead anyways.
  8. So why would we now have Gallagher fly back to the UK unless the deal is still on? Surely that indicates that it’s looking less and less likely now? Because if we’re still negotiating and a breakthrough finally happens today he’d have to turn straight back around? It makes no sense. I think this deal is dead and we have one hell of a headache on our hands. He’ll probably now refuse any other move after this long, embarrassing saga and just let his contract run down. And at this point I wouldn’t blame him whatsoever for doing so.
  9. I’m still not sure it has been confirmed that it was a medical issue with Samu. I think someone at the club changed their mind last minute after meeting with Jorge Mendes and being made aware that Felix could be had instead. The fact that Samu was already being linked to a move to a number of other clubs the minute his move here collapsed tells you that any injury concerns are minor.
  10. I’ll wait until the end of this week before I have a go at them. If the Gallagher deal collapses after he was essentially unveiled as an Atleti player then they deserve every bit of shit coming their way.
  11. It can’t possibly be a coincidence that the move for Felix happened right as we were dealing with Jorge Mendes for Neto. It was surely spearheaded by him. He’s trying to get his client to a permanent destination where he’d be happy and settled.
  12. Some annoyance has to go to Atletico as well. How can they be so broke that they can’t afford £33m transfer without it being 100% mandatory that they sell someone? And if they’re so cash strapped, how/why were they able to sign Julian Alvarez for €90m?
  13. Absolute fucking shitshow. Imagine how Gallagher must feel right now. Didn’t even want to go in the first place and now being left out to dry basically for days and days while we negotiate.
  14. Really seems as if Felix was going to happen any moment after it all popped off last night. Yet nothing today at all. But more concerning is that there has been no Gallagher update.
  15. I badly want to laugh hysterically at Liverpool for missing out on their top target mere days before the season starts but we have our own business that can fall through. 😅😅😅 But goddamn, people bitch and moan about our transfer dealings. Look at Liverpool! Don’t think they’ve signed a single player, have they? Their fans are in total meltdown.
  16. The fact that Gallagher has been in Madrid for days and we still don’t have resolution makes me worried about the deal. 🫤
  17. The thought of Osimhen flanked by chance creating machines like Neto and Palmer either side of him or playing together with Nkunku/Felix in another potential lineup does sound pretty damn good I have to say even as someone who isn’t super high on him. My concern with Osimhen would mostly be in the big games against the better teams where service into him will be harder to come by. What does he offer if he’s not getting service is what I’m wondering?
  18. Yeah…. Imagine if we get ourselves in another situation where we piss off another club like we did with PSG last year. We’re going to make clubs never want to deal with us again.
  19. Come onnnnn, give us a Felix/Gallagher update damnit!
  20. This Gallagher situation is so weird. He took and passed his medical, he has apparently been at Atleti training, the Atleti Twitter account posted media with him taking a tour of their stadium and facilities. It seemed as though it was a 100% done deal only missing the official announcement by the two clubs. But now the deal is up in the air just because of the Omorodion situation? How can they afford to spend €95m on Alvarez with no real issue but can only sign Gallagher if a sale is made?
  21. Only saving Grace is that we didn’t put him on silly wages like £200k+ a week so he should have plenty of clubs that could take him in if we want to get rid. The talent is still there with Mudryk. He just needs to go somewhere where he’s 100% comfortable and confident and under a coach that gives him full belief. Needs a smaller profile club where there isn’t gigantic pressure on him every time he takes the pitch like here.
  22. In terms of where Felix would fit or his role in the team, I see him as pretty much the same as Nkunku. A Swiss Army knife of a player who can play about 4 different positions. LW, RW, #10, or emergency false 9. Just like Christo. That’s exactly what the English journalists were briefed months ago that the club wanted in their transfer targets. Versatile players who can be moved around to different positions with comfort. As everyone has said, though, we NEED to sell some of the current lot for this move to make sense.
  23. Sterling seems like the type of player who wouldn’t want to leave England. Doesn’t he have about 15 kids? I highly doubt he’d want to uproot such a big family and move to a country where they don’t speak the language etc. So I think it’s probably much easier to sell Mudryk. Ideally both would go but Sterling’s wages and desire to leave are surely huge obstacles.
  24. Should be pretty straightforward for us to simply offer the same money, maybe just a little more, for Felix that we did for Samu and get this Gallagher swap sealed. Going from Samu to João Felix is a colossal upgrade as people were saying last night. Just in terms of raw talent and technical ability it’s not close. Just being able to turn to Felix instead of Mudryk or Sterling raises both our floor and our ceiling.
  25. Gallagher deal falling apart after he has been posted walking around Atleti’s stadium by their social media account would be disastrous. If we’ve fucked up 3 different deals here Atleti will never want to deal with us again.
