Lavia is indeed injured again, ffs. 😫😫😫 Much more nervous about this now.
-
This United XI looks absolutely dreadful. But City are in such poor form that who knows what’ll happen. Draw or United win is best for us so maybe they’ll do us a favor.
-
Yep, I’m expecting them to try to get super aggressive and physical with us to unsettle our players from minute one. Their tactic will be to press our CB’s and keeper and try to force us into mistakes like Spuds did in that opening 15-20 minutes last weekend. We clearly struggle with that when Sanchez & Badiashile are back there. Really, really hope Lavia is good to play. Without him I worry against a side like Brentford with Caicedo basically on his own in midfield as Enzo doesn’t provide much defensive help and Gusto gets panicky sometimes.
-
Think we’ll 100% be at the races tomorrow now. Not that we wouldn’t have been already, but these results today will energize us even more. But I also think Brentford will be hell to play against so hopefully no underestimating them from our players.
-
Brentford I think will be more difficult than Spuds were. They are tactically sound, intelligent, and work their asses off as a unit. This is the sort of opponent that can absolutely beat us or any of the big boys if we aren’t fully up for it.
-
I don’t care for him either but I could at least envision him looking better after leaving United. Needs a change of scenery and that pressure/spotlight of being that hyped up future superstar for his boyhood club lifted off him. That’s why I think journalists will link him with us. They’ll say he could be just like Sancho.
-
How much you wanna bet that we’ll be heavily linked with Rashford soon enough? Briefing went out from a few journalists this morning that United will listen to offers for him and are willing to sell him.
-
Why would we sell our best player back to a team we’re trying to surpass? And why would he want to return to the club that tossed him aside?
-
Brentford, Fulham, and Bournemouth are all very tough matches. Those are sides that would take great pride in getting super physical with us and clipping our wings. Everton and Wolves are so hot and cold you can never predict what those matches could be like. In era’s past this run of games we have coming up would be light work for a machine-like Chelsea team. But all these small clubs are much more competitive this season. What could go a LONG way in making me super confident in every one of these is if Maresca drops Sanchez.
-
That right there is Neto’s only real issue. He’s awesome in the open field and at getting in dangerous positions but his end product is lacking. Madueke probably scores there and kills the game.

ENZOOOOOOOOO
-
Badiashile is SHIT! PLAY TOSIN INSTEAD FFS
-
Badiashile passing out from the back. Good lord, man. Passing it into the feet of players with someone right on them.
-
We’re destroying them. But choking over and over in the box. They can’t deal with our ball movement at all. If we can fucking equalize we’ll win this.
-
Lavia was our best player and now off. Yikes. Gusto and Badiashile on the same side…🤦♂️
-
Don’t get how all the supporters and all the former players who are pundits can all see plain as day that he’s shit but Maresca treats him like he’s world class, prime Petr Cech. He literally costs us points repeatedly.
-
Cucu was back to normal not allowing anything past him after he switched his boots. It’s idiotic, but the way he reacted to the guy on the touchline he appears to be one of those players that just trusted that the kit man would give him the correct boots for a rainy surface.
-
This game is there to be won. They can barely keep the ball and we had dangerous attack after dangerous attack. Just stop with the horrendous giveaways and we can do this. If Jorgensen was in goal here and Tosin was playing instead of Badi I’d feel much better.
-
We’ve pretty much controlled the game for a long time now. Spuds’ only danger really is coming from us handing them the ball in our half. We can still win this if we can just be more incisive with the final ball.
-
Sanchez needs to be benched after today. I’ve had fucking enough of that.
-
You honestly couldn’t have written this in a movie script because it would be too unbelievable. Two slips by THE SAME PLAYER directly leading to two goals.
-
City drop points, Arse drop points, Brighton drop points, United lost. We have a MASSIVE opportunity here to put ourselves in an incredible position with a win. We can basically discount and stop worrying about several teams behind us with 3 points here and focus solely on Arse, City, and yes, maybe even Liverpool going forward. Hope the boys are as hungry and desperate for a win here as us supporters are. Putting 12 points between ourselves and United and 11 between us and Spuds would be delightful.
-
I was saying this expecting both Romero & VDV to be out. Plus their keeper. That maybe with all those injuries he’d try damage limitation and try to grind out a boring draw.
-
Both starting CB’s miraculously fit for Spuds out of nowhere. All I’ve heard this week was how Van de Ven was out long term and Romero was a slight doubt.
-
Having picked Sancho here instead of Noni I guess Maresca is predicting that Spuds will be very defensive and allow us to dominate the ball. Sancho is more effective when space is tight and you need someone against a low block. But I actually expect the opposite. I think with their injuries and defensive woes they’re going to go all out attack just to try to make this a back and forth, high scoring match. For that reason I’d have started Noni for his ability on the counter to kill them. Pretty surprised as well that he trusts Badiashile as a left footer out of position on the right over Tosin. Not complaining, though. This is a super strong team.
