  1. I still do t see how Liverpool getting Isak makes any sense after they’ve signed Ekitike for £80m. Isak starts every PL and UCL match if he’s fit. So they’re going to have an £80m striker who just arrived sitting on the bench most games? It’s nonsensical.
  2. Feels like a copy and paste of the same thing we heard this time yesterday. Seems the player side is essentially set but we are still haggling with Leipzig about the fee.
  3. Been a while since the latest Simons update. Surely if we’ve been pushing as hard as the reports say and if he’s keen to join then we should be hearing today that personal terms have been sorted and a bid has gone in? If we hear nothing substantive today I’m going to assume that another club or two have joined the race and are trying to hijack.
  4. For like the 50th day in a row, Fabrizio has again this evening said to keep an eye on Chelsea/Garnacho. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ This better not all be setting up for “hey, we tried to get Xavi Simons but couldn’t agree a few so we’ll get Garnacho instead.”
  5. €40m for a talent like Hato is insane. If he played for another PL club anyone going for him would be quoted £80m.
  6. Atleti are suddenly about to sign this David Hancko guy who plays as a hybrid CB/LB just like Veiga. So I guess that move is off the table for us. Wonder what’s next for him then. We obviously wouldn’t be attempting to sign Hato if Veiga had any way back in to our team. So he’s got to have some move lined up.
  7. Rodrygo or Simons would probably have the most immediate impact but Rogers long term may have the most potential simply due to his physical tools. Yildiz I really like but need to see him for another season feels slightly too soon for a massive money move.
  8. Just have to hope that us getting in there and pushing hard before anyone else means that the player appreciates the effort and tells the other suitors his mind is made up.
  9. Come on, Xavi, reject Bayern please! Tell them thanks but no thanks! Save us from moving for fucking Garnacho!
  10. I think Hato is 100% going to happen but I don’t want to get too confident about Simons just yet. Every one of these reporters saying we’re pushing hard and advancing but that there’s still a concrete possibility that other clubs jump in and try to hijack him. I don’t want to get too emotionally invested in the move happenening because then if Arse for example hijack him it would be a gut punch. Bayern is the other name mentioned but surely if they’re after Luis Diaz they don’t want Xavi as well?
  11. Get them both done this week and that should be our transfer window done and dusted in terms of incomings. Then we’ve got the entire last several weeks of the window to sell unwanted players and find great loans for others.
  12. The Hato move seems to be happening at lightning speed. We must have been working on him behind the scenes for quite a while.
  13. If we sign Simons and then still go after Garnacho then I am really scratching my head.
  14. I love Tosin and there’s zero chance I’d think of selling him. A leader, very well liked and respected by his teammates, very solid almost every time he’s on the pitch, and importantly isn’t someone who is going to make a fuss if he doesn’t start every match. He’s the picture perfect squad player for a club like this. All these mentions of Wes Fofana in some of these stories is strange to me. There should be ZERO planning of the squad or team around him. His knees are a ticking time bomb that are likely to blow up at any moment he’s on the pitch.
  15. From what I’ve seen he is still a bit raw but is super talented. Basically the perfect understudy to the more experienced Cucu.
  16. Yesssss! Imagine how cool it would be to have a Double Dutch announcement. Xavi and Hato both in that beautiful orange Netherlands kit, they both snap their fingers are suddenly in the Chelsea kit 😍😍😍
  17. Same. Guehi is not a CB that takes us up a level which I’ve said in this thread before when we were linked with him months ago. He and Trev are at the same level so why bother selling the one who’s already here and spending big on one who isn’t better? As I said yesterday, I don’t think the club is thinking about an out and out CB this window. We have Trev, Tosin, and Fofana to rotate at RCB and we have Colwill and Badiashile at LCB. Hopefully Hato is brought in who can fill in on the left in emergency situations. Three options for each spot is enough. Next summer is when we can go big focusing on CB if needed depending on how the season goes.
  18. Yep. I think they’re a prime candidate to drop. And could be one of those unfortunate clubs that may struggle to come back up. Losing a single key player for these small clubs is normal and survivable. Losing their manager who built them to become what they are AND losing several of their best players could prove fatal.
  19. Be hilarious if after that whole saga and all the hype Gyokeres comes to the PL and just puts up bang average numbers.
  20. At least Brentford should be a team we can likely cross off the “these guys are a bitch to play against” list of smaller PL clubs this coming season. Their team is getting systemically dismantled this window.
  21. The hope I guess for all of the other contenders is that with all those changes to their team Liverpool will take a while to gel and that Wirtz, Ekitike, and Frimpong don’t take to the PL smoothly.
  22. Arse are finally set to finalize the Gyokeres deal according to Ornstein. Means they could potentially turn their attention to Simons so hopefully we are really pushing before they start speaking to him. Or they move for Eze instead.
  23. Yep. Think the plan is to hope Sanchez is solid for this season and also hope Penders replicates Peteović at Strasbourg. Then we can flip Sanchez next summer and bring back Penders as our #1. Crazy this rumor is flaring up again. I remember being very lukewarm and skeptical when we first brought him back from Palace. But he has been excellent for the most part and clearly loves playing here. Only scenario I can think of making sense is if we are near the deadline and still haven’t been able to to shift Nkunku/Jackson/deadwood and we’d have Trev as an emergency option to cash in on. No chance should we just sell him based on anything else. Especially not because of Fofana who may miss 90% of the season as he always seems to.
  24. As with GK, I think the club are fine with the CB options we have for another season but everyone outside of Colwill is probably auditioning for their long term future again. We’ll go big for a star CB next summer if needed. Or maybe Anselmino/Mamdou Sarr have outstanding seasons out on loan and are ready for the first team.
  25. Just push and get Xavi done ASAP. I’ve already hyped myself up too much about the idea of him so if we don’t sign him at this point and instead go for Garnacho it’s going to feel even more depressing than before.
