  1. Since it appears our deadline day will be dead in terms of incomings I’m just finding myself hoping that some of these deals our rivals are trying for don’t happen to bring me excitement/joy. Like for example if Spuds fail to sign another striker or Man United don’t get a midfielder they’re going nowhere this season.
  2. Still don’t see how you play Isak & Ekitike together. Especially since Gakpo has looked really solid on that left hand side to start the season. So shunting Ekitike out wide on the left feels like you’re compromising his effectiveness and also keeping Gakpo out of the team.
  3. Still think they’re a bad injury to either VVD or Gravenberch away from being very vulnerable. Even with Guehi as defensive reinforcement.
  4. Liverpool about to spend another £160m tomorrow alone after already spending like 300m. Crazy.
  5. And when Palmer returns presumably the first match back from the break? Guiu back on the bench never playing? This is why I don’t know why we recalled him. Jackson I get.
  6. Villa are skint. Yes, they need Jackson, but surely can’t afford him. For those saying swap for Rogers, Villa probably rate him as even more expensive than the £80m we set for Jackson. They’d be getting the worse end of that swap. Us loaning Jackson and keeping Guiu would be idiotic.
  7. Who’s gonna pay a huge fee?
  8. Oh, FFS What is Guiu going to do here but ride the bench again?
  9. After all the hype and excitement it looks like it’ll be a quiet deadline day for Chelsea now with Nico returning. Well, quiet in terms of anyone else coming in. Might be a madhouse with players leaving. I just wish we could’ve gotten Xavi. Or failing him, someone of his profile like Fermín. I maintain that someone like this would elevate our attack.
  10. Anselmino going to Dortmund and hopefully playing every week is the best possible place for him. If that happens we could have a player who’d cost us £65m or something silly if we didn’t already own him.
  11. The TOTAL lack of even a whisper about Sterling, Chilly, Disasi etc being close to moves is worrying. wtf even happens to them if they’re still here? Turkish league only? Or Saudi?
  12. With Nico returning I guess our last hope for one big move is to get a larger than expected fee for Tyrique George? He’s the final List A player who’s like.y to leave, right? So most likely no more incomings.
  13. Pretty outstanding weekend for us. We win, Spuds, City, and Forest lost. Now hopefully a draw in the Arse/Liverpool match with a bunch of injuries to both sides 🤣
  14. Bayern going for Lookman now. Jackson 100% on his way back then. Good. Now go and get Fermín.
  15. I bet you anything that if Guiu comes back he still won’t be 2nd choice stiker. Maresca will play Pedro Neto up front against PL opponents before he starts Guiu.
  16. Please don’t tell me the last of our business will be Guiu returning to never play and Buononotte coming in to never play…
  17. Agreed. Rather buy a quality attacking mid in the #10 area than buy a panic striker. We’re going to regret not pulling the trigger on Xavi Simons. We can rectify the situation a bit with someone else now.
  18. Talk of bringing back Guiu now. That would be extremely silly imo. Maresca clearly didn’t feel he’s ready for Chelsea and he’d be in the exact same situation here as he was last season. He would rarely see the pitch. He needs to stay at Sunderland and play. If Jackson doesn’t return and we need a striker it NEEDS to be someone who can start matches if necessary whether that’s together with João Pedro or by themselves. Guiu is not the latter.
  19. I wonder what the deal is with us apparently bidding for Fermín last night. Are we still waiting for his decision or have we already moved on?
  20. Just stupid. As harsh as it is on Jackson I’d rather bring him back than spend money on some random striker who we had zero interest in 24 hours ago. A striker who we will then probably struggle to get rid of in a years time.
  21. It sounds like the Delap injury has legit sent the club into a panic ffs. I’d rather sign an awesome #10 like Fermín than some random striker who will be benched and given the Jackson treatment once Delap is back fully fit. Unless Delap’s injury is much worse than initially feared and he’s going to be out most of the season then buying another striker feels very shortsighted.
  22. Paqueta would be an excellent addition for Villa if they pull it off. I’d happily take him here if he was 3-4 years younger. West Ham feel like they’re already in real trouble through 2 games and if they lose him after losing Kudus then yikes. They’d have to be a genuine relegation candidate. Jarrod Bowen must be desperate to get out of there at his age.
  23. So as of tonight it looks like Jackson returns and we get that kid from Brighton. That’s our window done in terms of incomings. I guess our final 40-ish hours of the window will be all about whether we can shift George and all the outcasts.
  24. Gittens looks MILES off being ready to be a nailed on starter so far so I’m think Garnacho is going to be a bigger player than most of us assumed. Garnacho already being PL hardened should give him a leg up. I just have zero expectations. Hope for the best but expect nothing much just like with Gittens
